My daughter enjoys coming here so much, she looks forward to it. The staff is great! She is learning a lot and overall it has made her very happy after a year of hardships, she really needed this. It is a wonderful establishment!

One of the best decisions I have made for my two boys was signing them up for karate at MBD. This is more than just a karate class! My boys have gained confidence in themselves as well as working on karate and self-defense. The atmosphere is family oriented and structured with an emphasis on positive reinforcement. I highly recommend this karate dojo!!

I absolutely love this place. I originally started to learn selfie defense when I got a new job in a city few years back. Sensei is great and explains everything very clearly. I enjoyed every class I took and if it wasn’t for the fact I moved I still would attend classes on regular basis.

I was a student here and started going here last summer. I didn’t want to come here but I had to so I could try something new. I liked it here at first but then right around February of this year, I started to not like coming here because of things I’ve been forced to do that I didn’t like. An example would be the kata, I didn’t like the fact that we had to introduce ourselves mainly because I don’t like speaking in front of people. Another thing is where we had to shout every time we did an attack which I didn’t like also. I didn’t like that I had to do things i didn’t like. Overall I wouldn’t recommend anyone going to this place if you don’t like speaking on in front of people. I no longer go here and it wasn’t a very long experience for me. But I wouldn’t want to come here again

If you’re looking for the best of the best for your child then this is the place! All the sensei’s are professional and kind. The Delarosa family truly puts forth only the best efforts into their Dojo. We love MBD Martial Arts!

My 6yr old loves it. They are so accommodating and very pleasant. I had my mom take him one evening, at the wrong time, they took him into another class and didn’t send them home!

Today, I sat down with Michelle, the owner of MBD Martial Arts Academy. In spite of the fact that Michelle has her hands in so many facets of her business day-to-day, shes incredibly progressive in the direction that she wants to take her academy. Not only that, Michelle is a regular attendee of my B2B Networking group, displaying a continued commitment to the growth of her business, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Des Plaines community as a whole in a professional manner. My partner and I are very much looking forward to working with her on accomplishing her goals.

We started at MBD in January 2019. At the time my son was five. In November my daughter started to go as well. Sensei Michelle and her team are amazing. They are encouraging, caring and agile. The belt tests every couple of months have been very motivating for our children; and have definitely built their confidence. During COVID-19, I have been amazed with their service and how they shifted to a virtual program. This has kept our children active and engaged in karate. We love this Dojo!!!

I love this place! A lot of classes offered to fit busy lifestyles. Teachers are great! They really care about children and their well-being. In addition to a great approach with martial arts, they also concentrate on childrens self esteem, self defense, dealing with bullying, discipline, listening skills, and much more! This is my second class at MBD and I absolutely love the workout I get from the instructors. I was with Susan this morning and 3 hours later already feel sore. She is totally on top of her game and her work outs are top notch! Class times are a good mix to work into my daily schedule. Cant wait to go back!!

Great martial arts gym for all ages. Their kids Karate classes are fantastic! I enrolled my 6 year old daughter about 2 months ago and she loves it!! I joined shortly after in the hopes of keeping her interested and now were both hooked! They have Krav Bag and Kick Boxing fitness classes that I promise will be the best cardio you ever had!!

I personally love this Martial Arts school. I have visited many Martial Arts schools and one thing I can really appreciate is that the people who are in charge, know what they are doing. I have 24 years of Martial Arts training on a high level and can definitely say these people are professional! They have an amazing kids program. The kids learn self defense, Krav Maga, Karate, and discipline. On top of it all, they are very nice, welcoming with no ego whatsoever! The gym is clean and very organize which is very important for me. I highly recommend people in the area of Chicago to come and train with MBD martial art.

My whole family comes here. The instructors are insightful, knowledgeable and motivating. The kids classes are fun and engaging. The adult classes provide a great work out and offer practical and technical learning. All the patrons are super friendly and welcoming!

Great place for kids to not only learn karate but also vital life lessons. Sensei Michelle is an excellent teacher and mentor for the kids, she strives for them to always be their best. The other black belts and class leaders are great with the kids, very helpful and encouraging when teaching new moves.

Fantastic location, very comfortable to use public transportation. The gym is beautifully kept and the energy in the gym is very positive and welcoming. The kids programs are amazing and well organized. I love the owners and everything they do for the community. The Alpha Krav Maga program they offer is highly advanced and great for everyone.

Ive been part of the MBD Family for 10 years now. It has influenced me and my life greatly. Great school, with amazing instructors and a great place for kids and adults to learn Martial Arts. When our son (6) asked to start karate, we stopped by the dojo to check it out. Sensei Michelle was so warm and welcoming, that we signed him up for the little dragon classes right away. A few weeks in, our 4 year old daughter (then 3) wanted to start, too, so we signed her up as well. Both enjoy the classes a lot. Our son especially has gained confidence (which we had hoped for) and he has a great balance now. All the teachers are fantastic and very patient. We were fairly new to the area, and dont have family close by. The dojo feels like a family away from the family.

The DeLaRosa family is like our extended karate family. We have three girls taking karate at MBD and they love it. We enjoy watching the progress they have made over the years. Additionally, my wife and I take various classes like Krav Maga and Muay Thai. We are very fortunate to have MBD.

Ive been Here for 5 years and its gotten bigger and bigger. The reason why is because of our great instructors and our way of teaching.

Many things have changed in the 6 years since I wrote that review, but the one thing that hasn’t changed is my love for Sensei Michelle, Sensei Mike and the entire MBD family. My child is now getting ready to test for their black belt this fall/winter. The skills, lessons, and family we have all gained by being part of this dojo is something I will always appreciate.————————-My son has been enrolled here for almost a year now. He loves going to class. He attends youth karate and sparring classes. The instructors work really well with the classes and push the students to do better without intimidating the kids. They provide a safe place for the kids and stress that bullying is not acceptable at the dojo or outside of the dojo. I am very pleased with the progress my son has made in less than a year and am looking forward to many more years with this dojo.
