So i have heard that they are now assigned seats and my kid is very sad and i would like to report it because i feel like my kid should not have to suffer because of this covid restrictions all the kids should be wearing their masks first of all and if a kid is sick they shouldnt be going to school in the first place so yall should take away these sitting arrangements or should i least let the kids sit wherever they want at lunch my child is in the 8th grade and i dont know if all the other grades have to do this but its to strict if you wanted to have social distance they should have still been online

Unfortunately, my son is being bullied and Im not getting any help. The Dean Mrs. Archie makes excuses for the person thats doing the bullying and she doesnt listen to my son when hes trying to explain what actually happened. She base her decision off of what other kids say and not the victim. Last week, the EMS had to take my son to the hospital because he had an anxiety attack due to be bullied. Before i could explain what was going on the he paramedic stated he think this is a case of being bullied and the school really need to do something about this. My son went to see a therapist to help him deal with this nightmare and as I was explaining what was going on with him, she immediately interrupted and ask Is he be bullied . I asked Mrs. Archie for the incident report when he went to the hospital and also a list of the Board of Directors, she said she didnt fill out a incident report, she wasnt aware that she need to. I did receive a incident report two days later and not on proper letter head, just something she typed on her computer. A week later I received an email from his teacher and Mrs. Archie is copied on the email stating, my son displayed aggressive, unacceptable behavior because he allegedly took a dictionary and put his elbow on a kid. Its ironic that my son was never sent to the office to speak with the Dean, so why was she copied on the email. I feel its ironic that after asking for that information a week later i receive an email about my son being aggressive. I feel this petty tactic is just in case I try to pursue other action. Someone need to investigate the bullying that take place at this school.

If you are looking for a school for your child this up coming school year. I would suggest not to choose this school. Mrs. Patterson The principle. is a very horrid principle I would walk in the door dropping and picking up and she wouldnt even speak ( personal I know but it matters when I am seeing her everyday and my child is at her school) Whenever there was a problem she wouldnt communicate well with her parents. Anyone is Mrs. Randolph she bullied my son. I even called Fox 2, Channel 4, Channel 7 also to exploit the staff and teachers there. Thats how horrible our experience was this past school year. I have recommendations from a lot doctors and other teachers that will say how horrible this school is at communication. My son teacher name was Ms. Williams she was not very nice to her students Ive even had other parents write letters with me to the news stations with me as well. Before my son got Promoted to Ms. Williams class he was in Ms. Kinsels class she was so nice and she communicated with me and my son so well. I still appreciate her. we both do!

This is an excellent school! The administration and teaching staff genuinely want each student to succeed! God has His hand on DEA and I am most grateful!

I just don’t understand why kids have to pay for everything. They say it’s for a fundraiser but I have yet to understand where the money is going and why do they have to pay anyway. This is one school that’s always asking for money. Smh

THIS IS A HORRIBLE SCHOOL FOR STUDENTS TO ATTEND.....I WOULDNT ALLOW A RAT TO GO THERE!...ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS MY GRANDSONS HAVE BEEN BULLIED IN 3RD GRAND TEACHER MS AMHED CLASSROOM....LAST YEAR I HAD 2 LITERALLY GO AND SIT IN HER CLASSROOM ON MORE THAN 2 OCCASIONS TO CALM MY GRANDSON DOWN BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT HE WAS BEING SEVERELY BULLIED... AND HE WOULD ACTUALLY SHUT DOWN! ALSO, AS RECENTLY AS LAST WEEK I HAD 2 GO UP TO THE SCHOOL REGARDING ANOTHER ONE OF MY GRANDSONS THAT WAS BEING BULLIED IN HER CLASSROOM....I DONT KNOW IF THEYRE TEACHING THAT BULLYING IS NOT ACCEPTABLE IN OR OUT OF THE CLASSROOMS...IF SO, ITS NOT BEING ENFORCED....BECAUSE IF SO, I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD 2 MAKE SEVERAL TRIPS UP TO THIS SAME TEACHERS CLASSROOM REGARDING MY GRANDSONS AND THEM BEING BULLIED...THEY WILL NO BE ATTENDING DETROIT ENTERPRISES ACADEMY THIS FALL....THANK GOD.....AGAIN, A HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN TO ATTEND.....

I am a student that had been at this school since 7th grade and this school is actually decent to me. I know I had that one comment by saying that this is a bad school but, its actually not. The only thing that is negative is just the bullying, but that is really it.. my experience for being there in the seventh grade was not good, but my experience of me being in the eighth grade was ok. I was still getting bullied for a little bit but then it stopped. The method of how I wasnt getting bullied was to act cool with them and dont be mean to them ( unless if they put their hands on you ). But, 2018 was my last year there because I graduated from the eighth grade to high school. For the ceremony, some eighth graders were crying, but dont just let them cry, hug them and say everything is going to be alright. This is part of life and it is not the beginning. You know we all had made friends and got along with each other and fun, funny, and goofy memories, but it time to take all the memories that you can from this school to remember the good old days. Stay strong my fellow friend.

So frustrated! My son is a sweetheart and has always loved school and his teachers at his preschool and pre-K schools. His DEA kindergarten teacher doesn’t seem to have patience with her students. I’m getting a call almost everyday about my son. The things she is telling me is so out of character of my son. He is having crying spells and has lost his interest in learning. He tell me he don’t like his school regularly. But when we work together at home he is still very excited about learning. He is the only child and does get excited just to be in the presence of other students his age. Things that are expected when you are dealing with 5 year olds. All other DEA teachers he see agrees, he is a sweetheart. But his kindergarten teacher only have negative things to say about his behavior. My son gets frustrated and only have outburst in her class. There is clearly a disconnect between him and his teacher. My son is learning. But I think his growth is being hindered. I disagree with the previous review regarding the principle Mrs. Patterson. She was able to connect with my son when his teacher wasn’t. However, I think my son should have been allowed to transfer to another class. Clearly his teacher can’t or don’t want to deal with my son. So why force the relationship when it’s clearly not functioning. I work nights and is loosing rest running back and forward to the school. It is painful for me and him. I want to pull him out. We have tried everything and things are not getting better. He will not be back next year! Great curriculum but, I think he will be better in a Montessori school where his way of learning will be encouraged instead of discouraged!

My daughter has attended DEA for three years and the experience has been great. Although I did not care for my childs teacher this past year, I know if I had of mentioned how I felt the staff would have helped to resolve the issue.

They have a good area and good education for kids.

I go to this school it’s ok it’s not the best but the learning and teaching is great love yall😍🖤

This is a very good school for kids to learn ,I myself have attended there since kindergarten and im currently I 7th I dont attend here anymore because of where I moved to but for the last 8 years I was there it was amazing . I had growth in NWEA , if i had the option to come back I definitely would !

In my opinion I love the school and the teachers

This school is a really good school and i would recommend you send your child here. The teachers are really good and teach really well, also they will do whatever they can to help your child succed. The principal is pretty good and organized and they actually care about the students at DEA, and the teachers will teach in a different way that makes a student comfortable if that will help the student understand the lesson better. This school is by far one of the best schools in detroit. They may have flaws but they arent really bad. They also really care about children being safe at this school. I am currently going here and this is my first year here and so far my mom and my siblings and I think its a great school to enroll your children in.

Kindergarten Dean is horrible, or just off, need to get a new dean. Running good teachers off and pushing students away.

The teachers are bullies literally.
