I take the lessons here where you can do beginner ballet when your a teen or adult and it’s fun, and other places don’t offer that. And I don’t like how there is only one lesson a week, I think there could be more and maybe offer private lessons.

I am currently an adult ballet student at the School of Minnesota Ballet (30 years ago I was a pre-professional ballet student at Columbus Youth Ballet and dance major at Ohio State University). I have been taking classes here for several years for the sheer love and joy of dance, for the exercise, to improve my technique and strength so I can be a better dancer when I dance on my own, for the community and relationships, and of course for the excellent training. I have been privileged to have the opportunity to be taught by various company members of the Minnesota Ballet, and the regular teaching staff (also former members of the Minnesota Ballet) are superb! I get personal feedback, and also the opportunity to perform on stage during the annual student performance. The classes are flexible and accommodating for my hectic schedule which I also appreciate. And while classes are formal, the teaching style and approach is laid back and encouraging which I also very much appreciate. I am very grateful that the Minnesota Ballet offers this kind of program for adults in Duluth. It is VERY hard to find adult ballet and modern dance classes outside of a major metropolitan area. And to find training of this quality for adults is almost unheard of! This school and company is a real gem up here!
