Taking my final post licensing class with FM and will never use them again. I am a real estate professional and I had clients who needed my attention, just simple text communication and I was treated like a child and told to put my phone away and that I wasn’t even allowed to text. I cannot completely ignore my clients for 5 hours, 3 days per week. I paid for the class, if I fail the class, that’s on me. I spent my “lunch” hour sitting in my car responding to texts and emails since I was forced to ignore them. The instructor claimed it was “distracting” to everyone else, but I sat in the back of the class and was very quiet. I supposed she was distracted because I wasn’t tuned into her every word. I do not appreciate paying for a class and being treated like a child. Absolutely ridiculous.

I absolutely LOVE Sam Pyrtle! He was my teacher and his energy and passion for teaching was phenomenal. I would take class with him over and over again! But I have many reservations about FM Schools testing policy after learning their test requirements are higher than the states test requirements. The issue is this was not stated somewhere clearly prior to taking the class. And if it was, I certainly missed it.I made a 75.8 on the test, when FM School said we had to make a 77. I made a 75.8 again on the retest. I was devastated and immediately joined a new class at a new school offering classes that next weekend. I found out at the new class, their testing pass rate is a 75. I inquired with my new teacher was that the state required test score and he said yes. After my follow up with FM School, I was told the real estate commission encourages schools to create their own passing minimum score, which was unbeknownst to me in my process of choosing which school to participate in.I essentially paid money to be held to a higher passing standard than the state required. While there may be many good reasons for doing this, I have a bad taste in my mouth about the fact that it seems like a money making scheme to raise the score minimum and then offer those that didnt pass a discounted rate to take the WHOLE class again. While a passing rate of 75.8 would have been acceptable in other schools, FM considered it not. So I had to pay more money to take the class again.Again, Im sure they have their reasons for this, but I highly recommend you research and look into schools before choosing one with such a standard. The test is hard, no doubt, and I needed that 1.2 point push.
