UPDATE 2021: My children are now 11 and 9 and we are still loving our time at Palmetto Martial Arts. I have seen incredible change in both of my children. My daughter is confident and is learning leadership skills. My son has made such great friendships and is learning to focus more and put more effort into his work. Instructors CARE about the students and want them to be the best THEY can be. We plan to be here for a long time to come.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~2020: We have two children, ages 9 and 7, enrolled at Palmetto Martial Arts. Our youngest child has been coming since 2018 when he was enrolled in the Tiny Tornadoes course for younger children. This is the place. This is where you want your children to go. Hands down. Every single instructor is dedicated and wants your child to succeed.They want the children to have fun, but its not just about games and fun. Its about learning discipline, respect for others. My two children are very different. My oldest is quiet and learns easily. She has grown in her confidence over the last year and is excelling in her class. My youngest is more active, sometimes fidgety, sometimes stubborn. This class helps to ground him, focus his attention and forces him to work through his stubbornness to succeed. When he accomplishes something hard he is beyond proud of himself. It works on SO many levels for all children.My advice to parents is to be present. Be attentive and work with your children and the instructors on making it the best experience possible. You have to be just as dedicated to making it work.This was the best decision for our family. My husband even attends the adult classes and its done wonders for him.This is the place to go if youre looking for a great environment for your children. Its clean, its organized, its run by excellent people who I trust to teach my children.

Update to add my son now a green belt and in love with the program. Cant wait to see what else is in store.My son loves it. Amazing environment for kids.

We had our first visit tonight and my youngest loved it.

We love PMAS! Our daughter has been taking classes here for the last 2 years, she started when she was 5 years old. She has gained a lot of confidence in herself and is learning invaluable skills. There is also a lovely atmosphere of inclusion and welcoming that I appreciate. Great place!!

Great place for development of young minds. They inspired my daughter by making her more confident and teaching her great life lessons.

My son LOVES this school the instructors and very kind and willing to listen to his creative ideas. My boy really attached to master Roberson for his kind words and dedication to him he has really come out of his shell thanks to this school.

Your child has the intelligence of a one year old.Just recently had to pull our 5 year old daughter from the school. This could have been a positive experience with a simple conversation of due to the fact that youre daughter is developmentally delayed and not on par with the other 5 year olds we feel like we are not equipped with the resources to help her but here are some options for you to explore. Instead, we got your child has the intelligence of a 1 year old after her testing at a 4.2 year old level.

We love coming to palmetto martial arts . My child learns taekwondo and has built his self confidence so much . I also love the Christian based environment !!

We couldnt love this school more! Our 2 oldest boys attend and it has helped them both tremendously. My oldest has improved in his defense skills, we see if even when just playing with friends. It has also helped him with self control and respect of others. My younger son has gained a huge amount of self confidence and it has improved his coordination ten fold. All of the instructors truly love our kids and it shows in how they approach them and us. We love Palmetto Martial Arts!

This is a fantastic school! They not only teach the children respect but also help their self confidence. All of the instructors are amazing! My son has greatly enjoyed going there.

The school is everything I thought it would be. Master Roberson is very patient. His instructors are knowledgeable. Nothing but good things you say about the school. Patient teachers who are willing to work 1 on 1 with the children if needed. My son loves it. Always looks forward to karate days. I wish I could afford to go myself to get back in shape. Thanks for all you guys do!

This place is where you want your kids to go to. They have the sweetest people. They are absolutely amazing and theyre the true definition of a good influence. I dont regret coming here at all !! I love it here !!!!

Cannot say enough good things about Palmetto. The instructors are amazing and my daughter has grown so much with her Tae kwon do and her confidence. According to her she has found her tribe.... she says that everyone here is like a big family.... I love that she found a place to be herself.

We love everyone at PMAS, insructors,owners, and families. The classes have been great for myself and both my girls. The changes in my youngest daughters strength, coordination, and confidence are amazing following early childhood cancer and chemo that weekend her body. She is now an associate black belt. I am so proud of her progress!

Pmas has let me be more flexible, has made me have great friends, also has lots of amazing lessons and activities. The teachers are the best!!!

We started Palmetto so that our 4 year old (who has minor autism) could get more used to listening to instructions and playing well with other children. The instructions and student helpers are always understanding and calm with him. They made him feel comfortable very quickly helped him to become more confident in himself. It has made a WORLD of difference for him in his every day life!We ended up putting our 9 year old into classes as well when he saw how much fun his younger brother was having. It has helped my oldest provably even more than my youngest who was the reason we started! My oldest was struggling in school a bit. He is a perfectionist and was feeling like he wasnt as good as other students, etc. At the beginning of classes at Palmetto, he started to get down on himself that he wasnt good enough for Tae Kwon Do either. I spoke to one of the instructors about it and Master Robertson (the head Master at the school) pulled Bryson aside one and one and spoke to him about how being a perfectionist is hard but it truly can be a beautiful, wonderful thing. He told my oldest that at first, a perfectionist has to KEEP telling himself that its too soon to know EVERYTHING and that its okay to fail even though it is hard. But eventually, a perfectionist has the ability to be even better than others because they keep trying and trying until they can do it perfectly! These words helped my son not quit, and also helped him gain a sense of confidence in himself to keep on trying even when he wanted to give up. It made his TKD better, his school work better, and his self esteem better.We looked at other schools and tested them out and I can tell you honestly that this school is not the cheapest out there but you do get what you pay for. This school is a family and they love each child and strive to help each child reach their VERY best.

Its Christian based and all the people here are very patient with students of all ages.
