This was the perfect college for me to attend as a non-traditional student. I had small class sizes and plenty of resources on campus to help me be successful. My instructors also had real-world experience and knowledge of the area I was studying, and I got to know them as well as my classmates during my two-year associate degree program. My program (Human Resources) had a good variety of classes offered in the evening as well as online, so I was able to work while in school. My tuition was affordable, and best of all, most of my credits transferred to UW-Stout, which has saved me a lot of money as I pursue my Bachelors degree in Management!

Its an okay place to get your credits. Just because its a Tech college, dont think itll be easy. The science programs are tough. My only real complaint is that it isnt very adult friendly. Not many evening offerings or limited day options. Most adult students cant go to class 3,4 or even 5 days a week for a class. They really need to look at the adult needs and start helping them out a bit more. I try for the hybrid classes, but they dont have a lot of these. Instructors so far have been great.

I took part of my EMS training here back in the 1970s, and am now returning to take Truck Driver Training, as most trucking companies feel its the best program in the midwest.Rochelle Her from Administration has gone out of her way to help speed the paperwork, arrange for me to meet and get questions answered by the instructors, and help me fit in after all these years.I would highly recommend this facility, as its so well thought of by industry, you are already getting job offers before you even graduate...

I graduated from the marketing program and had a great experience at CVTC. It felt familiar and the staff and faculty were friendly and personable. They care about the students and do everything they can to help them succeed. Since graduating in 2008 I have worked in various marketing positions and am now employed at Chippewa Valley Technical College in the marketing department. During my first week of working here, I bumped into a couple of my old CVTC instructors and they remembered who I am and greeted me by first name. Thats the kind of personal experience you can expect at this college.

Its a pretty nice technical college with enough course offerings to get you started on a degree. However, they lost my tuition check when I dropped it off. It was later found, but the whole ordeal could have avoided if the office was more organized. Also, they dont serve fried rice.

AVOID TIM SEXTONS CLASSES AT ALL COSTS. Timothy Sexton is a psychotic maniac. This guy.. I dont even know where to start with the crap he put us through. Where to begin. Hes a complete pervert. He sexually harassed multiple girls in the classroom. I had three classes with this professor (psychology, sociology, ect - not by choice). He behaved like a raped ape in all of them. Not only was he condescending to students, but Ive heard him to be using students outside of the classroom to work on little projects of his. He talks about these projects in his class. These little get rich schemes hes working on. I heard he took advantage of a great group of students and paid them nothing for their work. He favors students, he grades erratically without reason, and he often came to class what appeared to be drunk a few times. No joke, this guy wreaked of alcohol. He couldnt even stand up straight. He needs to be fired ASAP. Tim Sexton is a complete prick. Ive no clue how he got into a teaching position. Someone please fire this guy and put these CVTC students out of their misery.

I just graduated from this college and I did the majority of my classes online, a few at the river falls campus. The instructors I had were wonderful and understanding of work and family commitments, but you are paying to learn and hold you accountable for what you do and dont do, as they should.... They are your teachers! I learned a lot during my time at CVTC and am working in my field. I have chosen to return this fall to pursue another degree to help expand my options within (either) business or to open my own business in the future.

I am in the marketing program at cvtc. I love my instructors! They relate things to the real world and teach us real skills. Ric messner, cathi lafontain, John kleven and Laurie boettcher are all wonderful instructors and I highly recommend taking their classes! However the marketing program has had many changes since I started in 2015. The school is making many classes telepresence which with marketing students, is definitely not the best way to learn. I had voiced my opinion about this to the school and they did not listen. If I wasnt so close to graduating, I would have dropped out.

Its a cheap alternative to going to a university. That being said sometimes you learn a lot, sometimes you dont learn anything.
