I would issue fair warning about this school or other driving schools for large riders. I am 6,2 roughly 320 lbs. Unfortunately the bikes that are used to train you on are only 125cc engines. I looked up these bikes and the specs came back as a max weight of 250. The reason I looked it up was because during my class their motorcycles just didn’t have the Power to get moving with me and gear on. As a result clutch and throttling was a big challenge in fact during one of the exercises the foot peg broke off my bike resulting in me almost crashing as my foot hit the floor when foot peg broke (I think I tore a muscle in my hamstring as I can barely move that one leg today) . Instructors were good, but again large riders you might be better off, going to DMV getting permit and practicing with your own bike. Just be warned I asked for accommodation multiple times initially when first getting started but didn’t seem like an option even for riding the bicycle. It also seems unfair that the school is not upfront about weight limits and the bikes they use as if I were more informed I would have looked for another solution upfront. Plus I passed the written test but I cannot get an endorsement at least to get my permit so I can practice with my own bike.

Had a fantastic time taking the classes offered (basic, experience, and advanced). The coaches teaching the class were super helpful and encouraging. It was really cool watching everyone go from a beginner not having any experience to being able to ride the bike. I enjoyed it so much that I came back and took the experienced and advanced classes. I cannot recommend this enough! I learned so much and had other students who been riding for 40+ years learn new techniques as well. 100% worth the time, money, and effort put into this course.

Do yourself a favor and take this course elsewhere. The Piscataway location has 2 instructors Steve and Steve. Both very nice guys but they just cant seem to be on the same page or get along when instructing. One gives one set of instructions then the other gives a different set of instructions, and then you get yelled at like you are a child. This was the most disorganized class I have ever taken. Each day the class ended HOURS early because one instructor was always in such a rush to get out of there, or more worried about covering his bike in the rain than actually teaching the class. So there goes all that practice time you are paying a hefty fee for. The bikes are not very well maintained at all, the course has grass growing all through it on the black top, the cones are tiny, faded and very difficult to see. For the cost you pay for the course there should be quality materials and a maintained course. This I assure you you will not get here (at least at this location, I cant speak for the others). I was not a first time rider and I was failed because today was not my day. No explanation. Other riders were able to redo parts of the test but I was never given that opportunity to redo anything on the road test like the others so I assumed I had passed only to be hit with, no you didnt pass (THE ONLY ONE IN MY CLASS) and they want me to take an additional class for an additional fee. This is outrageous. If you want to waste your time, your money and your patience then go with this class. If not I highly recommend going elsewhere because this was totally not worth it.

The coaches were very helpful throughout the course. They placed safety and learning above all else while keeping it fun and entertaining.

Your educator is a bully. He makes learning dreadful.and gives students poor directions. He yells and curses.. worst experience I had to encounter with such an unprofessional rude man Steve. Because of him many students disliked the class. Learning should be fun not torture. Do yourself a favor and seek a more professional environment to learn and to receive clear directions to learn. Both instructors gave contradictory directions, confusing.

Took the class yesterday and today and had a great time whilst learning quite a lot. Lauren and Walt were fantastic driving coaches also very skilled themselves.Even in the rain had a good time with great people and new riding buddies. if your lucky Lauren may even tell you her plans on domesticating a moose. Thanks for everything!!!

I found this course to be comprehensive and thorough. The class is worth the money just to learn about the laws and etiquette associated with motorcycles. They provide many different kinds of bikes to use during the course, which could be useful for those still deciding what kind of bike they want to have. The way the road test is designed, in my opinion, is nearly impossible to fail if you have any sort of feel for riding. Could have done without some of the trivial classroom assignments but overall a good experience.

I took the class last Tuesday and Wednesday. Day one picking up my bike and you guys save my life with the swerve and stop.....had about 5 seconds between me and a pickup in front of me, he locked up his brakes doing close to 70. Executed a proper swerve and am safe & sound. Without this class I would be flat on the side of route 80. Thanks again guys!!!(Also it was alot of fun!)

Took a class with these guys over the summer...so thankful for everything they taught me!They teach the fundamentals, dont expect to be ready to cruise the turnpike after you leave the course, but they build you an excellent foundation and give you all the tools to practice and learn on your own.If youre interested in learning to ride, this course is a must!!!

I took the three (3) day basic motorcycle class this past weekend with Steve and Kevin in Piscataway, NJ. The instructors were awesome, they had a ton of knowledge and experience and were really good about teaching every participant the skills they will need to ride safely. I really enjoyed the class and am thankful that I took it, it was worth every penny!

I was really excited to take the basic rider motorcycle course with this school. I studied the materials thoroughly, transferred my NY drivers license to NJ in advance, purchased an awesome DOT helmet and borrowed a friends car to drive the distance to Morris County College from Jersey City for the 3 days. Unfortunately, my excitement was dashed and my experience with the school has been extremely poor. I have since filed a claim with my bank for a return of my monies on a course I never got to take through no fault of my own.Upon arrival on the first day of class the administrator alerted me to the fact that in the license transfer, NJ DMV had mistakenly issued me an ID card instead of a class D license. I was turned away on the spot and told to call the school to reschedule. The following day (Sat) I went straight to DMV, they sent me to their supervisor and promptly issued me the correct class D license. I called RENJ on the Monday after that weekend - they asked me to email the corrected license which I did, and I was told to call back later in the week when my paperwork was sent back from the site. I followed up on that Thursday and was told my case was with their Board of Directors. I didnt hear anything from them for over a week. When I called to follow up I was told that they were super busy, having a tough week and that no one had further reviewed my case. I did receive a call in about an hour after with the response that I would need to pay an additional $50 rescheduling fee to reschedule my class. I explained that I felt this was an unacceptable situation, considering that I had not cancelled, I had showed up at the class on time, and was turned away for a DMV mistake that neither the school or myself had control over. In response, I was told that they have lots of other cancellation situations and that my situation didnt warrant any waiver of the rescheduling fee. If I really wanted to follow up on the matter I couldnt talk to the manager or supervisor, I had to write a letter to the Board of Directors with my request to waive the fee! I wrote that email to the Board of Directors requesting that the $50 fee be waived and that my course be rescheduled for a certain date. It was important that I take the class this month as I have to pick up my new motorcycle at mid month. They finally responded in writing that they would NOT waive the $50 fee and that it was my fault. It was clear to me after over 2 weeks of lack of responsiveness from the school and a request that I pay a $50 rescheduling fee for a situation that was not my fault, that this school is only interested in keeping my money and not really evaluating the facts and delivering quality service. Incidentally, I also discovered after re-reviewing their written terms that they only charge $25 for rescheduling, and that they were actually trying to GOUGE me further by requesting a $50 fee. I decided to start a claim with my bank to return the fees. Their unwarranted punitive treatment of me in this situation made me really doubt the quality of training they could provide on the motorcycle.RENJ has poor customer service and doesnt do the right thing by its customers - this is a company that is interesting in taking your money only.
