Bishop Ahr fosters community and happiness in students. Students here strive for success and the betterment of their communities. I know this not only because I teach here, but also because I graduated from here. It is an excellent Catholic education and an excellent environment for learning. Its home away from home, which is what a school should be!

As a teacher at Bishop Ahr for the last 4 years, I can honestly say that it is a family. Everyone is very welcoming and these have been some of the best 4 years of my teaching experience. The technology available to the students is current and updated frequently. It is definitely a school that fosters academic, social, athletic, and spiritual growth!

Hands down, worst school in New Jersey. The teachers are extremely rude and pile us with homework. When I mean pile, I straight up mean PILE. I had to change my backpack because all my books wouldnt fit. Freshman year was fun and sophomore year was annoying, this year seems like its going to be worse. None of the teachers can TEACH I mean its in the title of the job! They just briefly go over something and expect us to learn the rest at home. Apparently AP courses dont really count unless youre in the national honors society. This is hands down one of the worst schools in New Jersey, if not THE worst. I wish I could give 0 stars!

Im happy to have spent my high school years here. The music, theater, and honors programs were outstanding. BGA wasnt perfect, but it certainly deserves better than a one star review.

The older kids are welcoming, involved, and kind while the underclassmen and toxic and rude to almost everyone. It feels like half the student body just doesnt care and just wants to be cool while the upperclassmen just try to help as much as possible.

Its up to you to make yourself happy or unhappy here. I hated this school until this year really. I really closed up and had a horrible experience to say the least my first 3 years. This year, I opened myself up and got involved in a lot of things and experiences that now, I can honestly say that my view of this place changed drastically.

As an alumni parent I was extremely happy with my son’s experience at BGA. He enjoyed the family atmosphere and he chose his career based on Ms Lilly’s Career class which helped him to choose and prepare for his college major. The Drama and Athletic Departments provided him with a well balanced high school experience.

I’m the Chinese teacher of Bishop Ahr. Between the age of 16 - 25, I attended schools in China, Singapore, Australia and US, and many of them have very high standards. I can sense it when I step into a good school. The first impression BGA gave me was oh wow! If I were given the chance to go to BGA for my high school education, I would have been a much more successful person! One thing I really like about this place is that students here in BGA really live a FULL LIFE. The classes here are challenging enough to keep the library packed with students working on their projects and papers before and after school. And the extra-curriculum activities are super FUN and yet highly EDUCATIONAL. Not to mention that BGA provides a SAFE learning environment. All those drills run throughout the year train students and faculty to remain calm and orderly when dealing with emergencies.I actually wouldnt mind sending my kids to BGA, in 20 years maybe, :-P
