My experience with Into the Swim was less than great. In the end I was disappointed in the instructor and that I wasted such good money. Three factors contributed to my awful time. These included the instructor, customer service, and the cost of the program. When my two nieces and I met the instructor it was not what we expected. Kennedy, their teacher, gave no social graces and was extremely rude and snobbish. At the end of classes they would never be praised for how well they did. Only criticized for an action they werent advanced enough to do. Her attitude during the class was always directed towards my oldest most of time. However, she always gave it back, creating a back and forth between the two. In my eyes, it is never acceptable for any kind of instructor or teacher to behave that way.Additionally, each teacher is required to assess the children placing them in a level for how experienced they are. However, Kennedy failed to do this and decided to place them in Level Two. Of course, neither of them were ready for it.Next, is the customer service. When I called to complain, Becky, debated with me over the phone. It was irritating to say the least. However, in the end we agreed that there would be one more session to give Kennedy another chance, of course I wasn’t satisfied. The next session I returned. My oldest niece did not go in the pool, but my youngest did. This time there was another teacher instructing Kennedy on how to do her job. She was constantly critiquing Kennedys teaching, which I agree should be done. In my eyes, Kennedy should not have been hired. If she cant teach children in a caring and effective way, she shouldnt be there. Finally, for all of this I payed $370 for two kids and seven thirty minute sessions. Each session I went to I would leave extremely dissatisfied and was to the point of holding myself back from lashing out. The lack of respect and compassion Kennedy treated my children with is something I would not wish upon my enemy.Overall, this was a terrible experience for me and my nieces. It is never acceptable for a grown adult to make faces and have an attitude towards children. In the end, there was little to no progress even made. Honestly, I will never be returning there and I hope the training for the organization’s instructors will improve.
