I am a student attending this school and can say that they really take the time to make sure we learn all the key tools to successfully attend to clients. I can also say their customer service is exceptional!

I attended this school and have only great things to say about my experience. The teachers are amazing, caring and patient. Though it was during COVID season teachers and staff did the best they could with what we had a the time with all the restrictions. Mrs. Hollye in my opinion is one of the best instructors I could have asked for , she goes above and beyond for her students to make sure we get the material we need weather its theory or practicals and takes her time in answering all of our questions. She is someone that made this whole process much more easier for me and now with her being in charge of career services I know she will be a great help!

This was my first time doing my hair colored there. They did any awesome job. Loved it. Price was right and students very friendly. Would like to thank Student Marcela and instructor Norma for explaining and giving me heads up of hair color turn out. Trust me give them a try. I will be going back. Thanks again.

I wanted to finish my cosmetology education and made the mistake of attending the first school I went to. Despite knowing I hadn’t been in cosmetology in almost 3 years, they threw me in head first without explaining what I was meant to do AT ALL. not only that but because I transferred hours I skipped to the end of phase two. I then had to teach myself everything I needed because I had missed all of it. I literally paid them to teach myself. Not to mention getting scammed into buying a useless chrome book. Do NOT get one. They won’t work. They said I couldn’t use my home computer because I’d need to bring it to the school. Well the only times I had to bring it to the school was because it wasn’t working. I wasn’t the only one with issues either. The school refused to give my friend her kit she paid for and everyone was usually confused and the instructors don’t want to help. MAJOR communication issues.

Absolutely a waste of time and money. Very unprofessional and unorganized. An absolute mess, didn’t test for a midterm until i was a week away from graduating. Didn’t mention to my class what was required to graduate & left in the dark until a week before our graduation and we were scrambling trying to turn things in. As well as sending me the wrong report card and i believed i was under hours, did extra hours at school for them to tell me i was sent the wrong report card, then told me i was going over my hours to much and was going to be dropped. Many, MANY students have expressed confusion, trouble and needed help and ALL was swept under the rug. Much rather attend Tri-State the cost is much less. Many students have experienced the same troubles as me and has not received help. Literally an absolute mess. Really hope they fix the whole program from the bottom up starting with a better staff. They are all very rude sadly much more focused on collecting a check rather than creating great cosmetologist.

I just graduated Milan from the Esthetician program and this was the best experience ever. Starting with the teachers, phase 1 mrs. Lluvia is such a sweetheart and explains to you everything with detail. Phase 2 Mrs. Hilda is such a good teacher, when you have question she will answer everything! If you ever need help with a procedure she will guide you trough everything, she will stay with you if you need her too. She also gives students demos on procedures so it wont be that hard to do it alone. If you are ever in doubt about a procedure you can just ask her and she will tell you everything thats right and whats wrong .She is an amazing teacher !!!❤️❤️ Mrs.koko online is also very professional, she gives you activities online and we get to participate one by one in her class. Over all it was such a amazing experience and I really recommend this program a lot!❤️

I am currently enrolled in the esthetician program here and mostly spend my class time being taught by ms. koko, online and ms. hilda for the face to face portion. I think this program is what you make it, and I really appreciate all the help that have gotten from both of my instructors. I am a very persistent student and ask a lot of questions just so things make sense to me and they are always so helpful.Ms Koko is very prompt, always, and you get to participate the whole time in her class. She keeps us interested by having different types of assignments and by having us think outside of the box and become more creative. She always seems like she is in a good mood and very positive.. she keeps it real for sure,Ms Hilda is very helpful on campus when I have questions or concerns and always recommends products for me to look up and try.I really appreciate them and hope I will still have the mentorship from them and the other staff here after I complete all of my hours :)

I just finished my cosmetology course here and I have no complains. I had a great experience since day one. I want to thank Ms. Hollye for being a great teacher and always being there to help when needed. At the end Ms Hollye now at the career service department was so helpful in getting us ready with everything that was needed to get us cleared and continues to help providing us with information of places that are hiring.

First time getting my hair dyed here! Great price and great teachers and students! Denise was my hair stylist she was so sweet and took her time to make sure everything turned out good! After she was done she also did my eyebrows and let me tell you both my hair and eyebrows turned out amazing! Definitely will be going back to Denise for anything i need for my hair highly recommend her! Thank you Denise! 😆

Elizabeth in admissions is awesome! She consistently communicated with me about enrollment and always kept me in the loop. I’ve only just started but everyone in the school so far seems great. Very kind and professional.

About to graduate from Milan Institute of Cosmetology as manicurist. Mrs Liz, the online teacher, makes everything so much easy to learn the book and more! Had fun while attending.

Very friendly receptionist and Courtney my hair stylist was amazing and explained step by step and the instructor Norma was also GREAT and also explained everything,. Great price too, I would highly recommend 👍🏼.

I I must say I was skeptical about returning back to school after many years but Mr. Gallardo made the process of enrolling something to look forward to and very exciting! I was greeted by all staff and walked into a fun working environment. Miss lluvia is a great instructor and I look forward to learning so much more from her.

Good evening I just received a hair service at Milan Insitute and I am 100% satisfied with the service.. The evening instructor and the student were totally understanding, patient, courteous and professional. I highly recommend Milan Institute to anyone and if for some reason you are not satisfied with a service right away address it and you better believe they will try to solve the problem immediately.. the students are learning and they try to do their best besides that their prices are very cheap compared to others that charge you hundreds for horrible services and very expensive!!

This school is very unprofessional. The teachers do not communicate to each other. They barely communicate to the students. Once students started taking clients they teachers did not tell the students the things that were expected of them until the students were doing the wrong thing (without knowing) and then the teacher tells the student to leave. This is the most wrong practice a school can do. They must make sure that students know what is expected of them BEFORE they start doing things. If taken things to the director you will be belittled and talked down to. PICK ANOTHER SCHOOL!! STOP COMING TO THIS SCHOOL!

The teachers do not care about the students, they really are just there for a paycheck. They are quick to log you off if you step away from the camera because they have nothing better to do (they sure aren’t busy teaching us anything.) Almost all the girls had anxiety when we started taking clients because we had no idea what we were doing. This program is so expensive for them to not have all the materials we need. They don’t do a good job of keeping track of your practicals or they never have time for your personal questions. I learned 90% of what I know from YouTube or other students at school. I’m very frustrated as I feel like we are not heard because they keep adding more and more rules to make things more inconvenient for the students. I honestly could go on forever I don’t recommend this school to anybody.

DO NOT ATTEND HERE OR GET SERVICES! if I could rate this place negative starts I would give it -10000. I graduated from here for the manicurist program and it was an awful experience. To begin the staff they are rude and they will fail to help you in every situation you are in they only care if you missed a payment or if you speak up for help and they will take is as attitude and they will make sure you get in trouble for it. I did not learn one single thing here and for a program thats almost $9,000 I would expect to get the best education possible. In their incredibly overpriced program they give you materials that should last all 6 months and help you perform services and learn without you purchasing anything and the materials they give you are the cheapest.

Rick is wonderful and so helpful, everyone there has your best interest at heart. The tools are given to you to complete your education the rest is on you as the student.

I am a student currently in this school, and it has been a bad decision i have made in attending. i wish i would have kept looking for a better school. i had heard so many good things about the school but it has not been anything good. I enrolled in November 2020 and since i have started the school has not had anything good. I still have school supplies missing the person who gives the supplies out is a very rude man never has time for anything unless its on his time, he wants me to be going to pick up supplies in the morning when i enrolled for afternoon classes for a reason, in dont have time to be going in the morning to pick up supplies and to be having to search for him all around the school. I still have not gotten my student id to be able to log in to check my hrs and my grades for school. The teachers are not organized at all, my online classes are horrible to the max the teacher does not know anything she is talking about, has nothing ready, can not read at all and has her own group of people she prefers to teach. My in class Instructor is a little more organized but is very lazy and has not been teaching us anything at all, its like she throws us under the buss and expects us to know how to have things done. I asked her on how to do a nail tip and her response was i dont do tips i only do sculpture. which is not a response for been a instructor in my head, she also spends her time on snapchat posting stories on how bored she is at school during my class instead of helping. I am so over this school, i will be doing my best to figure things out since i dont wanna become a Karen... my only option is moving to a new school if possible.

Was not greeted warmly at all , had a 9 am apt , the apt didnt start till 9 :25 am . Over all The facial was great , I tipped $10 on a $16 service.

I am a recent graduate of Milan. I enrolled w/ Elizabeth who was always very helpful during my time there. There are some instructors who are not helpful and have their favorites. Also whenever you have an issue and try to talk to the director Dyana she is very rude. She talks to you like you are dumb, like what youre saying is not true, and nothing ever changes. dont go to the director if you need anything

My friend wanted to try something new to her hair and didnt want to wait long for an appointment elsewhere so we went here. The girl that took us in seemed slightly nervous but eager to get us what we wanted. My friend had long hair and wanted to bob it and color the bottom portion of her hair. The girl didnt hesitate and got started. Somewhere along the way you could tell she wasnt confident in what she was doing cause her face changed. She asked to step away and came back with one of the instructors, Ms Liz. The instructor answered her questions about the cut and color and gave hands on instructions on how to proceed. Overall, the cut and color went great and my friend was truly delighted with it!! Students seem to be in great hands!

I went for a manicure and pedicure. Worst experience ever. I understand work is done by students but this is bad. My cuticles are worse than before.

Yvonne Monteros front desk contacted me & scheduled a few services. Basic facial w-Tasia;Amazing!!,( est. student) ,pedicure/manicure with Corey ( nice work ) & will set up eyebrows with Chloe in a few weeks…. Holly; institute’s teacher; Professional. I will definitely be back & will recommend to all my friends & colleagues!!! Keep up the Great job & attitude!!!

I would recommend Milan Institute. They a very profesional. As you walking you can feel your very welcome. The instructors are very profesional, specially Mss. Courtney, she’s the kindest person I have ever met. I would come back. 100% recommend 🥰😊

If I could give this school zero stars I would! First there are many things they do not tell you when they give you a tour of the school. First, keep track of your own hours and labs because their systems do not work and the teachers either dont write it down or even care to watch. Second, you as the student matter second and the clients matter first! Even though you are paying for your education to the school you are second rate. The teachers will ignore you to deal with a client. Third, Youtube and your other students are your friend. There are few teachers that will actually show you how to do things. When they come over to check your work they will talk down to you and ask you why you didnt do things the correct way. (As if you were even shown or told how to do it the correct way) FOURTH! Yes there is more! Online schooling! Yes it is terrible for everyone but the way that it is handled is the absolute worst. Many teachers have issues for hours on end with their computers during class yet if a student has an issue with their wifi or computer they are scolded and told to get it taken care of ASAP. Many students also have issues with the computers that are bought through the school. When they take it in to get it looked at they are told it is their wifi and they have to deal with it. The way online school is conducted is unprofessional to say the least. Substitute teachers will be at their place of work filling in. They are working thus not paying attention to the students and giving them the help and guidance that they need. This is if the teacher is lucky to get a substitute. Once a teacher had to have the application open on her phone while she went to a FUNERAL. She put the class on mute and went to her funeral. The school let this happen. Fifth, Grades! Teachers will open up tests in advanced and put a 0 in the grade book so that it brings your grade point average down. They will tell you not to worry and youll take the test in the few days and your grade point average will change. Tests are just a whole other thing. There are times that teachers will just tell you to take a test before even going over the material. This is due to the fact that they will just have you take it again until you pass.

Y’all please don’t come here for services or to be a student. Myself and a few other students have caught covid from here and nothing has been done nor do they even care. So I’m warning you...unless you want to get sick don’t bother coming here.

Ladies when they tell you read what you sign please.... READ WHAT YOU SIGN lol Im telling you its gonna save you out of the water just for teachers to let you drown. Im paying for a program to get licensed for all kinds of services, Ive completed the main services but still missing half of them to complete the program. How are you gonna have clients come in to the school and what ever kind of service you say you provide, we cant do them because we dont have the equipment to do the service. Any job you work for it is required to be professional at all times which goes for students, staff, and faculty. So explain this situation... a huge class of students, 1 out of 30 dont have the equipment to do a specific service so simply asking to watch someone else, or make up any service their missing. Teacher tells that one to leave the campus immediately while 3 other students sit all day in class and do nothing. I pay for you teach me how to do a haircut, manicure, facial, hairstyle etc. dont tell me you cant help me, and im not allowed to ask my classmates for help, if being told to just look it up on Youtube, and thats all it takes to do any service when am I paying for this school.

There is lack of communication within this school. There are teachers that have admitted that they dont know what they are doing. Teachers and staff will also be passive aggressive with the students. After bringing up these concerns they were taken care of but never resolved. I opened up to a staff member about an issue I have and I was dismissed and even made into a joke. This is the kind of thing that should not happen somewhere professional.

This school is a waste of time. The staff are very rude and ignore students when they reach out for help. Many students submit complaints and they also get ignored.

I went in to get my nails done. I wanted a matte black with white stripes on my ring fingers. I wanted them medium length and almond shaped and I called the day before and made an appointment. I was told it wouldnt take more than 2 hours for them to get done. I was slightly late because I was meeting up with a friend to get them done. We walked in and the receptionist was short with us and rude and after taking our names we both sat down. My friend got called back first and it was another 30min. Goes by and the instructor finally calls someone to do mine. She doesnt have any equipment and tells her instructor so... He tells her to find some... This should have been my first red flag but I wanted to give then the benefit of the doubt.When she finally gets to me she calls me back I tell her what I want and she says okay. After we make conversation Im starting to get a good feel for her and I let her do her thing. Since she is a student I give her all the time she needs. After 4 hours I walk out with nails that are too long, not matte and the polish is patchy and there is nail glue everywhere and you can see half of my real nail is still showing. I was not satisfied but after being there for four hours I was tired and ready to go. After a slow night and a shower I climbed into bed and when I woke up my nails were bending inward and I had scratches everywhere because the tip had not been filed down... My friend who had been with me had the same problems... She had asked for one color and received another there were gaps in her nails and ours were both very badly done. I did not take pictures because I was determined to get them redone and I did immediately the next day. My friend however did...

I had the worst manicure of my life.I asked for a French manicure. It looked terrible. The lines were crooked and you could literally see the brush strokes, some nails were thicker than others. The clear polish was all over my fingers. For 22 dlrs I expected a professional job.My 7 yr old granddaughter did a better job the following day.First and last time I will ever go there.

I’ve had a great experience learning the aesthetician class, the course is all hands. The instructors are very informative about all the procedures and most of all the class reviews and chapter assignments. Everyone is very nice and the classes aren’t overwhelming, we received great products to work with by Biolements. If you’re interested in Esthetics, I recommend MILAN.

People need to learn how to read, and not take other peoples food. I attend this school, & had purchased 4 fruit boxes in the fridge to stay fresh while I had gotten busy before clocking out. I had left them in the fridge over night, the next day I came to pick them up and there gone. Somebody mustve ate them. Dont be taking food thats not yours that has somebody elses name on it. RUDE.

I scheduled an appointment Monday this week for a full sew in on Thursday. I was told to bring in the hair, needle, and thread. The cost of a full sew in was going to be $90. I showed up for my appointment at 11 a.m. and was taken to a station. The first student to work on me had never done a sew in and was directed by her teacher. The hair I brought in was a long black and blonde ombre. My hair was short and purple. The instructor directed the student to start braiding, but to leave part of the hair out for a braid less sew in (not what I wanted). They then proceeded to pin the tracks into the braids to show me what it would look like after being sewn in. They gave me an ugly mullet filled with blonde and purple hair. I told the instructor this is not at all what I wanted. Who would want extensions that do not match their own hair? At this point the instructor was frustrated with me and tried to talk me into it saying this was my best option. I declined. A different lady came and informed me I would know have to pay $130 for having them installed because I would need corn rows. I was fine with paying the additional cost. Next the instructor tried to verbally instruct this first student how to do corn rows in straight lines down my head. She grabbed another student and tried to have both of them work on me. They become became increasingly frustrated and said my hair was too thick for corn rows and neither knew how to do it. At this point it is 1p.m. and their pot luck is starting. The instructor comes and says two different students are going to work on me and takes the first two to the potluck for lunch. The two new students tell me they have no idea how to do corn rows and start trying to find someone who does. After finding two students (four students later) that do they start to make corn rows straight down my head. At 3 p.m. after consulting a different instructor who has had experience with sew-ins and a YouTube video, they start a new braid pattern. By 7p.m. the students were ready to start sewing in the tracks. This is the first time either of them had done any sew ins and had not taken a class on how to do this. They were relying on a you tube video the instructor had left! At 8 p.m. I was out of patience and was ready to just leave with half my tracks sewn in. The night instructor called for help after I would not let them continue. A very long story short, I was at the school for 11 hours for a service no one knew how to do. They were rude and insisted I pay full price despite the horrible experience. No one from the staff apologized or even offered a way to make it right. Very unprofessional and a waste of time and money.
