Today I scheduled/went in for a manicure, pedicure and last minute decision on shampoo & cut. The staff was very accommodating with my last minute request for a shampoo and cut. Samantha, who did my cut did an awesome job. Samantha took her time and knew what she was doing.Brie, who did my pedicure also did an awesome job. She was very detailed and careful in trimming my cuticles as well as keeping the polish off my skin and on my toenails. I forgot the young ladys name who did my manicure but she was ok. She was super friendly and nice, but she also had long acrylic nails, which I personally thought got in the way/obstructed her from doing a good manicure job. It was the reason that I didnt ask for any polish except a clear coat. When the instructor asked me if I was ok with my manicure, I felt like I had to lie. Of course I wanted color nail polish, but I was too afraid that it would turn out sloppy and take longer. She was already having a difficult time holding the nail filer and filing my nails. I didnt want to call her out/make the student feel bad in front of the instructor and her peers. I felt like I had paid for a manicure that I could have done at home myself.This was my first time coming here through a referral and I was happy with 2 of the 3 services (66%) I received. Hence, the 3 star rating I gave. I would recommend my friends/family at least give it a try.

I just started school here and it is amazing ! I love my instructors and classmates it feels like a family. Always learning every second of the day and awesome equipment to use ! I really recommend anyone wanting to start to do it here at tri state it is amazing !

I recently graduated with my full hours as a manicurist. My time there was comfortable, inspiring, and everyone is so helpful. The manicurist teacher, Ms. Jo is super nice and patience with all her students. I’m thankful for the experience I’ve had at that school 💗

I went with my daughter & grandma and we all got cuts. We all left happy. Only thing is my daughters bangs are crooked. I came in two days after and they fixed it for free. The hairdresser and instructor I had (Sophia & Luz) were great. I really love how my hair came out. I will definitely be back.

My friend showed me this place and I really appreciate the students who are trying to learn and the knowledgeable staff I always get great haircuts and I would honestly recommend this spot.

Very relaxing

I wouldn’t recommend. I asked for my hair to be lightened and toned. Spent 8 hours and the finished result was all different colors with green and the orange still in my hair from being bleached. After that the instructor “tried” to hurriedly fix it & now my hair is just dry and damaged and a weird auburn color when my finished product was supposed to be an ash blonde! I would suggest just going to a real salon. Not worth saving a few dollars.

My family, and I, go there for our haircuts and we really recommend it. They have their students basically practice on you. But they do a great job and there is always an instructor on hand to give them advice and guidance. Plus a haircut is only $3, so give those students a good tip!

The girl with the tattoo of her baby on her hand is very nice but not ready. Took two hours for a trim, my haircut did not change...and seems like he did not completely wash out a treatment

I had a really bad experience in this place. I know they are students but instructors are not supervising. I took my daughter and they did a mess with her hair. They bleached all her hair when she just wanted some highlights and they charged me for all the bleach they used. I spoke to the supervisor and she just told me I could not get my money back. They charge like a profesional salon and I spent 5 hours there for nothing. I do not recomend this place at all, this is not a serious place to go.

They need to learn how to teach their girls (or guys, I dont judge.) how to do nails. I done went to some girl, shall remain unnamed, but she done did mess them up and I got the same style did from a more experienced maam for an hour and this little lady did it in 3 hours. I got kids i need to pick up! Laundry I need to fold! Men I need to please! I aint got time for a displeasing manicure! In light of all this i just want to leave you with the knowledge that I will be back, cause she is my gurl and i support her.

I am in the esthetics program at TriState. My experience here has been exceptional- the administrative staff is helpful, prompt and reliable and the instructor is organized and very knowledgeable. I still have about 3 months to graduate and 3 employment opportunities with plastic surgeons have already presented themselves. I am confident I will be prepared to work and excel wherever I decide.

I am a long-time customer of Tri State Cosmetology Institute and have had a wide variety of services done here. This is the only place I ever get my hair cut, because the instructor is just amazing. She is so skilled and interacts with her students very closely to insure they get the absolute most education from every haircut they do, while also making sure their clients are 100% happy.My absolute most favorite service they offer is the facial. What an experience! Every detail is attended to, and you come out at the end of your session feeling completely pampered! The atmosphere is perfect: private, quiet and totally relaxing! The students really know their stuff and again, the instructor maintains close supervision without ever seeming intrusive.I always enjoyed my visits to Tri State, but since they moved into their beautiful new building the experience is over the top! When you step inside, you feel like you are in a very high end salon. So many elegant details have been incorporated into their state of the art facility. The commitment to the environment is evidenced by the many energy-saving features. Tri State is a beautiful facility with excellent staff and management. I cannot recommend it highly enough, whether you are a person looking to enter a career in cosmetology, or just a person looking for excellent cosmetology services at great prices!

I have been going to this place for years. I have never had a bad experience or bad haircut. The instructors and staff treat me like family.

I chose Tri-State because like 5 of my friends that are now successful stylists all went there & told me it was a great place 😊As a student It was a very welcoming environment. I felt like my teachers & all the office staff really cared about me. Everyone knew me by name & always greeted & talked with me. It was like going to visit your friends & learning at the same time!I made it through the whole program & was actually helped & encouraged so much by them; because I had problems with working late after school & getting up the next day... lolI am so happy to say that with my Teachers guidance & pointers I scored an 87%on my written & a 92% on my Practical !!!!I even graduated with a great job lined up in a very established salon; thanks to thier job place that they do for everyone that is or has attended.Thank You Tri-State 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Omg. They did an excellent 👏 job on my daughters hair. One of my daughters got her hair dyed red. It came out 👏 AMAZING... My other daughter had to get some hair treatments and they were able to color correct it. I was so happy with the services.. and the staff is feel great they make you feel wonderful. I would recommend this place to everyone. Been coming here for years.

I love to see that in most of the comments they are from clients satisfied by the students they practice, especially on Thursdays.(By the way keep in mind that they go with practitioners, and are considered and leave tip. Do not be stupid and do not demand as if you were going to a professional salon, that to start with that I get there, because you cannot pay one)Well, I was a student of this terrible institution, to start you go and pay around 17 thousand dollars for the Cosmetology course, not to mention that they give you a very miserable kit that does not work, the stands where you are going to put your dummy do not serve the You have to stop with clips, the towels you cant use, you have to take your own, they will not give you a makeup kit and much less nails. (Although they tell you that everything is included)Please read your contract very well, since they run or suspend you depending on how you are in the mood or depending on who you are (because here the hierarchies exist)The director and the manager in this institution are white (American) and do not care about race, sexual preferences, religion or politics, they are going to humiliate you, in this institution you suffer a lot of discrimination.For starters I paid for an educational service, which was very miserable, they dont teach you anything of color since the instructors make their mixtures and give them to you so that you apply it to the client, they treat you like one more worker and they force you to attend to the client, and if you refuse, they make you leave school. Is that fair ???? When did you pay for an educational service? Is it fair to be discriminated against for being Latino, gay, black etc etc? Is it fair to be forced to work, when you receive nothing? (Because I have to clarify that the clients that go are very miserable and do not leave you a tip) That is why we have our dummies to practice and that is why we can carry models. (well and apart you have to pay to bring Model) But the school administration and much less the principal Amy care, for starters they are not cosmetologists are just some stupid ambitious, they only care about money! I was a student in the afternoon, and I was sad to see the occasional teachers in the morning dressed in table-dance and chewing gum like chivas, and many of them without experience in classrooms. (And according to the course, comes the lesson of dress and behavior in a classroom)The only salvageable in this institution are the instructors Mr. Efrain, Ms Patsy, Ms Claudia and Mss. VivianaI put this same comment on the Tri State Facebook page, and all the students who made comments were scolded and forced to delete their comments, why? Because it is an institution where you have no rights and no free will, an institution run by ignorant people.Do not really contribute to feed stupid people who do not care about your education.I am Emilia Tripp a student cheated and discriminated against by this institution.
