This is our first year at The Forest School. Our learner transition from public school. Our first year was a little unexpected due to the pandemic however, it didn’t hinder our learner because, virtual learning was already a part of the schools academics. The Staff at The Forest School work with us to help make the transition seamless. Its given our learner the ability to not only learn at her own pace but, holds them accountable for their learning. We have seen creative sides of our learner since moving to the The Forest that we did not see while in public school. We are happy we made the transition an look forward to the upcoming year.

I am so impressed with The Forest School. I have seen so much improvement in my daughter since attending. Shes more attentive, and looks forward to socializing with her friends. While my 14 year old has done amazingly well academically throughout her school years, I noticed a deficit when it came to socialization. The guides encourage healthy friendships and they foster an environment where all students, from all backgrounds feel welcome. Great Job, Forest School!!!!

Our son has thrived in The Forest School. He is inspired to learn and looks forward to attending every day. The self-guided learning model has taught him responsibility, planning, time management and has allowed him to work at his own pace. The real world learning experiences are incredible and very impressive. The guides are caring and talented. This is an educational model and school I highly recommend.

This is the most amazing school ever. My kids look forward to going to school every day. I love that each child can work at their own pace and that the traditional school performance pressure is gone as our kids control how fast or slow they go but the school structure creates enough positive reinforcement to make them want to do well and soar! I am so glad my wife and I found a school that we can see our children attending until they go to college.

We feel so lucky to be a part of this school. The self-directed learning environment has been a game-changer for our 9 year old son. In a short time he has taken complete ownership of his learning. We love the quests, Socratic discussions, open nature of communication, & ability for our child to learn at his own pace.

There are many concerns with the environment of TFS. Learns took weekly survey and begged for help and accountability from the school over their concerns with the school environment being loud, dirty, bullying, and continued racial slurries being used. The school continued to hold learners in charge of fixing it not the school, despite several learners saying that they cant learn because of the environment. My learner witnessed two acts of physical violence where the guides did nothing; the kids were left to work it out.TFS uses a wall of shame, displayed in each class room and more learners were labeled as behind or at risk then on track or ahead”. After many completes this was changed to nesting, flying and soring for the younger learners. There is such a thing as academic bullying, which I find TFS guilt of. Children should never have their academic progress on display for the whole class to see this is unethical and damaging. There are ongoing issues of school safety and lack of watching the children with being in a shared public space and easy access to walk in and out with any child. I would have to find a guide to let them know I had my child and leaving, it is scary! The school lacks transparency or parental consent they placed all spark learners at the kindergarten level in the e-learning; despite being in First or Second grade. There was no assessment given that backed the placement or parent consent. The Montessori curriculum provided in the Spark K-2nd is a primary curriculum ages 3-6, and it does not have lower elementary work on it.TFS was guilty of discrimination and bullying of learns with disabilities despite parent advocacy and educating the school on the learners disability.

Our kids are thriving, finally understanding they are responsible for the final out based how much work they put into it has been a game changer to them. I have no doubt this will have a profound impact in how ready they will be for the real world..

The Forest School has allowed our four learners to grow rapidly, intentionally, and beautifully. With student led learning and self-pacing, my kids have been able to grow deeply in knowing themselves more, knowing how to work with a team of people different than themselves, receive constructive feedback and choose to become their best self. I’m proud of the students my learners are becoming.

This innovative, forward thinking school is changing the lives of our children and the landscape of what future education will become. Dont take my word for it, come see for yourself at an Open House or one of the Student-led Exhibitions held in the community.

We are incredibly thankful for the creative and welcoming environment that TFS promotes! We had pretty high standards for the perfect school for our family, and were happy to say that this school exceeds them! Our son truly enjoys the Socratic discussions, supportive peers and Guides, and once in a lifetime experiences that he has at The Forest School. Our 5 year old is over the top excited about starting school there this fall! Thank you to everyone at TFS for the incredible experience.

The Forest School is preparing my daughter for her future in a new and challenging way that she could not get firm public school. TFS stretches her out of her comfort zone to help her reach new exciting heights that she didn’t know were possible. She doesn’t just sit a a desk and get stuffed with information , she has to take an active part in her learning through different topics, arts, and activities. It’s so exciting as a parent to watch her push through the frustration at times and meet her goals. It’s fun, difficult, and rewarding for my daughter to learn at The Forest School and we love it !!!!

Great school that is allowing our middle school son to thrive. He loves being able to self direct his learning pace and to set his own daily and weekly goals and has ‘skipped a grade’ because he has accomplished the necessary work. The Guides and Staff are top notch and are very inspiring to our son. He is especially excited about the opportunity to participate in an apprenticeship this year!

We love The Forest School! Very thankful for this opportunity for our daughter. She especially loves the hands-on projects, called quests. These projects have not only given her an increased awareness of real world problems, but also a chance to practice her public speaking skills at the exhibitions. We are genuinely enthusiastic about all that is to come at this innovative school!

If there had been schools like The Forest School (TFS) when I was young I cant help but think what a better situation our country would be in today. TFS taps into the heroic and leader in all their learners so they live boldly and passionately and in turn make the world better. Sending your child to TFS is the best give you can give them and our future society.

Finally! A school that gets it! Our son is thriving in this learning environment, where kids are encouraged to think outside the box, are allowed to move around as needed, and can have a say in their learning. The Guides and staff are incredibly caring and truly invested in my heros journey. I highly recommend The Forest School!

We are very grateful for this school. Our middle school son is thriving and is growing deeper in his love of learning. We had previously homeschooled and we are grateful for the middle school social/relational opportunities given each day at The Forest School while still giving each learner the freedom to direct their own learning, set their goals appropriately/independently and to go at their own pace (which is a fast pace for our son but classmates can work at their own slower pace if they’d like to/need to). The recent quest project of creating their own podcast about rural healthcare in Georgia was such a fun project for our son!
