I was fortunate enough to train here while I was visiting Ft. Lauderdale and I couldnt have been welcomed any better way. This was my first time drop-in training at a different gym and Professor Juan got me up to speed immediately. Amazing gym to train at!!! Visited in early December last year and Juan is a really welcoming, professional, fun and intelligent Professor. All the students were pretty much the same. Overall a great bunch of people to roll with and learn from : ) The last night I was there before heading home to Canada I was told that this is my home and Im family now. Perfect example of how jiu jitsu builds community and how an academy set up on the right principles can really thrive. The facility is clean and well set up. I will definitely come back some day and would highly recommend you visit or train here full-time : ) Big thanks to the crew for an amazing vacation training experience!!!

Great place to train. Professor Juan provides a very inviting environment, I also appreciated his technical approach - from warm ups to drilling. I have trained in many places and the drilling here is top of the class. Overall really enjoyed my month visit and look forward to returning in future. Side note, gym is spotless, fresh new mats, very clean.

I recently had the opportunity to train at Renzo Gracie Ft. Lauderdale, and it was a great experience. Professor Juan welcomed me on the mats, and provided excellent instruction. The other students were equally welcoming, making for a great training experience. I definitely hope to return to this school the next time I am in the Fort Lauderdale area.

This is what you are looking for!I started training with Professor Juan 2 years ago at the Renzo Gracie school in Weston. When Juan opened up his own school here in Ft. Lauderdale it was a real game changer. The facility is spacious and comfortable. Plenty of mat area for rolling without constantly resetting because you are getting to close to others. There is also a reception/lounge area in the front where you can watch the class from the comfort of a couch and a changing room in the back for when you are ready to roll.Juan is putting together a diverse team here. If you want to learn self defense, lose weight or train for a competition we have team members that are on the same path. Everyone is family and the atmosphere is extremely positive and supportive.I am fortunate enough to travel extensively for my job and this is one of those schools that no matter where you are visiting from you will feel welcomed.RGAFTL. Amazing place, amazing people, feels like family if you decide to stick around. Couldnt wish for better team of professors they already have. Weather for self defense, as a hobby or professional - this is the perfect place! There are classes for everyone - beginners, kids, women only, all levels gi and no gi. Private sessions available, parking next to the building, everything you might need (rash guards, gi) is available for purchase at the academy. Very highly recommend!

Training partners want to actually help you get better, not hurt you. Very relaxed and welcoming environment. Best school to start or continue your bjj training.

I have trained there with my sons for a year. Hygene is extremely important to me, as a parent, knowing my sons are rolling around on mats that people sweat on. This dojo and the mats are the cleanest I have ever seen. I have dabbled in jiu jitsu and martial arts for many many years and I will personally vouch for the fact that a new student can feel secure in knowing that there are good hearted instructors and students, who you can safely and responsibly train with, at all skill levels there.

I have been coming since the school opened up. Juan is a patient and technical instructor, with not just the skills to pass on but the ability to pass it. Not everyone can be a teacher but Juan can break down anything Barney style.Its easily the nicest looking bjj school Ive ever walked into, they also keep it very clean. The mats are high quality, just like the people I get to train with.The community is small but its growing. We hang out Friday nights, its great to feel tight with these people on and off the mats.The location is super convenient, you can knock everything out in this area. Spots to eat before/after no matter what time.Speaking of time, its the schedule thats great.
