Almost impossible to get in touch, finally had a reply through email and we scheduled a tour. Once at the school we were met outside, given a brochure and showed one classroom from the outside as well as you couldn’t enter “due to COVID “ even though it was summer and thus no kids there. Then we asked to see the playground (outside) and even there we couldn’t enter , saw it from the parking lot. Very disappointed, bad manners and attention. May get the not allowed to enter classroom but at least meet us inside at the office, not outside at noon in summer with 2 kids.I guess the recommendation was because it is very affordable. Not worth it.

Pride & Joy is on a temporary license from the FLDOE. This is due to institutional abuse. It has 5 fines w violations & a spike of problems. My son was in this school from K1-Kinder. For me it was the best school. I started noticing a change in him in K4 w everyday time outs & he would cover his face when I would get upset. Then my Assitant notice his teacher Mrs. Andrea (Kinder) would bully him w comments. Until one day Mrs. Andrea delivered my son w hand finger prints in his checks. She slapped him & held his checks to bleed him all over his neck. I have pictures with her nail marks & fingers. She wrote it on a report. He ran to the computer room to hide. Till today after 5 months he explains & talks about it. I wasn’t called to get him when this happen at 2:30 pm. He says she would ice the wound, clean the blood & they would tell him God or Jesus did that to him. Trying to get rid of the wounds, scratched by the time I would pick him at 5:30 or 6pm. They never called me when this happens at 2:30. It was the 2nd time in 3 days. She didn’t know how to manage the situation & the school ratio was like 1/15 students. When I asked her who was there & who saw this, she said only her & no cámara, witness or Assitant. I have pictures & videos of my son explaining what Mrs. Andrea did. She also wrote it in a report accepting her fault. I met w Mrs. Carrie & Mrs Andrea the nx day & they 100% defended the teacher & made my son look like he technically at 5 did something a grown up 20 yr experience teacher couldn’t handle. They should have address the problem to Mrs. Andrea & prioritize on the student, but they didn’t. Mrs. Linda (owner) never called or emails. It was a terrible experience. He misses his friends, he missed his graduation & he mentions names of other kids that were also being hit but 2 other teachers with rulers or their hands or other ways. I called the police & they asked me to removed him after seeing the pictures. Now since they own their school, not the state after Kinder, they technically are allowed to go by their own rules, protocol, etc. If any questions do your own research & call de FLDOE license office. We have suffered tremendously with him. Getting him to another school w Covid in the Middle of March & my grandma passing was hard. I found a school & they evaluated him saying he has a 120 IQ & May qualify for the gifted program. He misses his friends & he also mentions other kids being hit buy these teachers.

Wonderful school! As a first time mother I am so fortunate to have my child attend pride and joy. His teacher Miss Mikey is so attentive to my child’s needs, developments, struggles, and achievements. She communicates daily with me and I can tell she does the same with all her students. At such a young age children need someone attentive and proactive and she is exactly that! Thank you for all you do!

Our family was lucky enough to come by Pride and Joy by chance. It was the first preschool I looked at and after seeing the rest, they did not compare! Our daughter attended K3-Kindergarten.She is at a second grade reading level going into the 1st grade. The wonderful teachers there were all like a second mom to her! Knowing that when my son turns 3 he will attend Pride and Joy gives me GREAT joy!

We have been at this school since the Fall of 2007. Choosing a preschool can be daunting. You question whether to keep them home with you, or get an early start on your childs education. This school was recommended by a close friend and from the moment I took my tour I knew we had found the one. Fast forward to now, two of our Daughters have moved on to grade school elsewhere, but our youngest Son remains and will through Kindergarten. In the end we will have been at this school for almost 10 years. What a loving beginning this school has been. The special relationships I have made with the teachers here will forever be treasured. They love our kids just like we do, and that means everything to me. Academically speaking, we could not be happier. All three of our kids had learned to read at 4 years old and tested very high. We absolutely attribute this to the curriculum, teachers experience and abilities and the team relationship between home and school. This school has always taken pride in cleanliness and safety. Never have I been let down by the facilities appearance nor have I ever felt my child was not safe or in bad hands. I would absolutely with my whole heart recommend this school to any family. -Anna Littlejohn
