My kids (2.5 and 4) have attended MSFM for close to a year now! They love it and have grown so much in their knowledge and independence. Its truly a family environment where the teachers communicate every step of the way. Classes are organized, clean. They have a goos curriculum. For the younger kids, the teachers use an app to communicate about their daily activities. Love this school!

All have been wonderful and my kids are thriving, learning so much and absolutely love going to school. The teachers and staff are loving, caring and communicative and the environment is peaceful and positive.

Recently toured the school and spent an hour observing a classroom. I have heard incredible things about this school including meeting people who have kept their children there for a few years bc of how pleased they are. The staff was extremely personable, kind, accommodating and helpful to us. The classroom was calm, organized, and the children all demonstrated a very high level of independence for 3-6 years! Certainly not what you expect to see in a room full of young children. The director is a very kind person and we are really excited for our son to start this summer.

Our 18 month old has been at MSFM since she was 3 months old, and we love everything about it. It is a cozy, tucked away gem of a school with a loving and nurturing staff. All of her teachers have been so great. MSFM is an authentic and accredited Montessori school, and Mr. James and staff have put a lot of thought into all areas of how the school operates. We know that she is in the best hands each day, and she happily walks right into school each morning and sometimes doesnt want to leave when we pick her up! We are happy to have such a great school in our community.

We have our child in the Montessori schools infant care. I cant think of a better place to leave my sweet baby girl. Ive spent a lot of time in the infant care room when I nurse my child, and everything I have observed makes me feel more and more secure and confident in my choice of infant daycare. The environment is soothing and relaxing, so much that sometimes I dont want to leave it and go back to work! The Montessori environment is very special and the whole school is special. I looked at other day cares for babies and this was hands-down the best. Youll fall in love with the school and all the teachers.2019 Update: my second child also went through this school at 5 months until we moved when he was nearly two. What a lovely place with such caring teachers. we will miss this school so much!

We loved our time at this school. The teachers and staff do an amazing job creating a calm environment for children to learn and thrive. I wish we could have brought it to Austin with us when we moved back home!

Both of our children are now at MSFM, and after touring many area schools (like, seriously, MANY) we truly believe that MSFM was hands-down the best environment for our kiddos. The teachers are caring and competent, and we have formed real relationships where I can message them with a question and get a response right back. I can see daily how much they sincerely care about and love my children. My son is in the toddler program and has become so independent. He is learning by leaps and bounds, and I never cease to be impressed with the work he is able to do both at school and at home. MSFM is a little pricier, but that is because it is a school (not a day care) and they focus on learning through certified Montessori instruction. We love MSFM!

I LOVE THIS SCHOOL. (And my children have attended the other prominent one in the area.) This is the best Montessori school in SWFL. Teachers are treated well by the administration, and that respect is passed down to students. My son is thriving and learning new things every day. The inside and outside environments are peaceful and well kept. Most importantly to me, as a business they handle their finances well enough that they arent constantly badgering families for money and hosting expensive fundraisers.

MSFM has become the cornerstone of our lives in Fort Myers. As new residents to this city, having a place like this to belong to has made all the difference. This school really is a community and children know they are loved. The administrative staff here and teachers are the highest caliber of people you will find. Our daughter has thrived here beyond our wildest dreams and our only complaint is that they dont have an elementary school (yet). We love MSFM!

My fiancé and I recently decided to relocate and withdrawing our daughter from MSFM is easily the most upsetting part of our move. Our daughter is currently in the infant room, which is amazing, and was just about to be moved up to one of the toddler rooms, which we were equally enthusiastic about. The teachers genuinely love their students and our childs social and intellectual development has far-surpassed our expectations.

UPDATE: Google wouldnt let me add a new review. I am updating this in 2021. I now have two children. My youngest started at 2 months, and has gone through infant and is in toddler. My eldest is about to graduate this month from their kindergarten program. We purchased a house 3 years ago to be nearer the school. I wouldnt change a thing. The teachers are saints. We work remotely and can work from anywhere, but couldnt imagine going anywhere else. Our neighbors are going to be attending soon, and several friends around the country are switching to Montessori after seeing the amazing growth our children have had. Do yourself a favor and look into Maria Montessori principles and check out this school.Original review:If you are on the fence of where to send your children in the Fort Myers area, look no further. I have to travel and relocate for work on temporary assignments. I was lucky enough to find this gem through a referral, and I was blown away. There is literally nothing I would change. I have already paid for and held her spot for the month we return. Their outlook on childs nutrition, routine, self directive, etc is amazing. My daughter was potty trained in a week with the help of her teacher. I am a single mother, and having MSFM there as a second hand during the work week has given me peace of mind. After having been in a few top rated daycares around the south, I can assure you, there is no better child care anywhere at any price point than this school. The rate for what they provide is beyond compare. Mr James and the office staff care about the kids, its not just a job, and you can feel it. I hope to be able to be more permanently placed in Fort Myers just for how much my daughter thrived at this school.

Pros: Light and airy classrooms and lovely outdoor play space * Beautiful Montessori materials *Music Together program *Friendly and caring staff *Accepts VPK Cons:*Learning on the job where teacher are in summer/ weekend programs to BECOME Montessori credentialed, meaning they don’t already have a solid background in the methodology and this shows *Rapid expansion. There is lots of renovating, shuffling, reorganizing and new hires *Lack of follow through on proposed curriculum plans *Poor (and at times insensitive) communication with parents *Administrator with no classroom experienceAs an educator, I feel there is a critical difference between a teacher who is in the business of running a successful school and a successful businessman who sells education. So do your research and ask lots of questions about the actual program because you can’t always take the grand tour at face value. Bottom line. Daycare program at Montessori prices.

Please ask where the deposit goes - march 2019 it was announced it’ll be in the general checking account and used if needed.Teachers are absolutely amazing and love the children, my son attended 39 months until we were given 2 weeks notice of expulsion with no reason given for a 4yo and 12 month old. My 4yo started at 12 months and the first 2 years were amazing. After that I started sensing something was different - huge turnover, both primary teachers left suddenly and my son was about to switch to primary. They now have 2 amazing primary teachers (one has left since I posted this review originally) who we love and both had previously told us how much they love having my son in their class until one day we got a call to have a meeting to discuss “how things were going” and they gave us 2 weeks notice. We decided to finish out the week and 911 was called because apparently a sad mom was bad for business? The police officer told me I had to leave, so he escorted me to get my children. The owner stated we were forever banned from the property. With that sudden haste they didn’t give me 16 oz of frozen breastmilk (many know how priceless this is!!!) my daughter’s prescription medications ($300) and their records / immunization forms etc. so we’re now forced to find a new childcare facility without any warning. We had been planning to send our son for kindergarten. They’ve been making some big changes recently - requiring a full month deposit and saying in the contract it’s non refundable but he’ll pay it back if you leave on “good terms”. However, we had no warning or notice. Never a bad word was ever said about either of my children. My son is very friendly and would assist on tours with one of the prior assistant head of schools.I can only surmise that we got expelled due to me asking the owner and administration questions - like why did they allow the security gate propped open, why were 30+ children and adults from a dance group on campus when my children were there? Very valid safety concerns and clear violations. My infant had trouble since day 1 since they can’t keep trained staff. We were told one teacher wouldtake over for the infant one while on maternity leave, but she disappeared and then the replacement had yet to complete her 45 required DCf hours, had 0 Montessori experience and it was obvious. They put my 12 month old in a bouncer - the antithesis of Montessori philosophy. The young high schooler watching my daughter in the afternoon took her temp and thought 95 degrees was correct. They also never informed her of my daughter complex medical issues after we had 2 prior meetings - that’s a HUGE SAFETY issue. They also didn’t bother to tell me a new girl had started on my daughter’s first day. Infant has 6 babies and they couldn’t bother to tell me who’d be watching her?? My son had been there 3 years at that point.Anyway, it’s good until it’s not. I’ve talked to other parents who I wish I talked with a couple years ago because this school was slowly in a downward spiral and it rebounded some, got worse and here we are. Before we were expelled, my son had been there longer than all the teachers except for 2. That’s ridiculous!! There’s a reason turnover is so high. They’ve had a convicted felon watching toddlers in aftercare so their screening process is questionable at best. There’s other things I could go into but I’m sure it’ll just sound petty. The owner wouldn’t refund me 1 days tuiton. So feel free to put down your deposit 🤷‍♀️, but if he won’t refund me 1 day that I had left in the month and my kids were terminated at his sole discretion. My son’s teacher didn’t even know! Proceed with caution and look for what is going on behind the scenes, just tread carefully because problems are dealt with in an extreme manner.

I previously posted a five-star review of this school, but that was when the school was under previous ownership. My daughter, in the primary class, had an awful year in 2014-2015, and we have left the school. The new director (as of 2014) is focused on increasing the numbers. The parents of primary kids learned last March that the students hadnt been doing lessons in weeks because the new teacher could barely keep the class of 20 students under control. She threw her heart into it but I believe she did not have enough experience in handling young kids. Fortunately the director hired another full-time teacher to help her out, but the classroom continued to experience problems. It is sad, because the facility is so great, and we so enjoyed her first year at the school when it was under previous ownership. As far as I know, only the primary class is experiencing problems (many parents have pulled their kids this spring). My son was in the infant room this year and was happy there. It also appears that the toddler rooms are well-run by an experienced teacher. But I would wait another year or two before enrolling in the primary class to give the director and teachers more experience with how to interact with concerned parents and manage little kids. More reviews of MSFM are on greatschools dot org.

We started my son there at 11 months in October 2013 (which is when the new ownership took over). Since we started him, the school has completely evolved. The director has converted the classrooms to a more authentic Montessori layout with work and activities that are true to the Montessori style of learning. The environments are calming, enriching and the teachers are very passionate. While the tuition can be a lot to swallow, in this (as in everything) you get what you pay for. My infant doesnt sit in contraptions all day long, they use floor beds so that the infants can get up and explore on their own without being constrained to a crib. They are receptive to cloth diapering, baby lead weaning, or whatever diet your child is on. I have been been allowed to go feed my child on days that I suffer from a low milk supply. There are no robotic, plastic, noisy toys or overstimulating lights. There are simple wooden toys that allow the infants to discover the world on their own terms. The teachers truly love the children and are willing to go above and beyond to ensure their happiness. When they are ready or around 18 months, they move to the toddler environment with Ms. Livia or Ms. Kennise. This is where my toddler (2.5 years old) is right now. Ms. Livia has been like a 3rd grandmother to my son. I enjoy the Montessori methods because he can learn by doing and practices practical skills along with learning more academic things. Just a few weeks ago they did a unit on bugs and used Milkweed and Monarch butterflies to educate them - and my son was able to see a caterpillar go through metamorphosis and tell me all about it. Theyre currently learning the stages of a bean (I recall going through this same exercise in Kindergarten at age 5). The hands on learning that these students receive is truly amazing. This summer my son will be moving to Primary. We did our diligence and toured other schools because of tuition increases (these happen and are a result of well paid teachers and continual improvements to the school operated under LLC rather than non-profit. It is what it is). The resounding trend in our tours was either a lack of curriculum, hours that were not convenient to our work schedules or such a ridiculously stringent curriculum that it would create issues for children so young (such is the case in our over-tested, under recessed school settings). Upon observing the Primary classroom in comparison to the other schools and watching my 4 year old nephew to division on a division board and watching other 4 year olds read there is no doubt that a student will reach the level that they are capable of in a structured environment while still allowing freedom to choose activities that they are interested and excel in.If youre looking for a school that will put children on a moment-to-moment schedule with a certain amount of time spend on reading, math, or history - this isnt the school for you. But if youre looking for an alternative to a traditional school setting, MSFM is a great option for you.I recommend this school to everyone I know and as a result it is filled with amazing parents and children. While the ownership isnt perfect at times, you wont find an administrative staff with more passion for Montessori for what they do than the staff at MSFM.
