I dropped off my daughter Esmeralda Martinez at the Trinity River Farm & Equestrian Center June 11. When I pick up my daughter she was crying that the other girls made fun of her hair and that she could not sit with them because she walk brown color. On June 12 I ask the camp counsel how were things going. She said that my daughter was putting holes in the sand and not saying with the group. Inform her of the harassment from the 11 and she states it did not have that Esmeralda is just sassy. On June 12 I talk to Esmeralda about the importance of not putting holes in the ground. Im a Vet and explained about lameness and fracture limbs. My daughter informed me that she was blinded fold that day and someone was pressing on her back. She states that cousins throwing her water bottle on the ground and telling her to eat dirt. On June 13 I went to drop of my daughter. When I got out of my car the cousins ask the camp counsel why was my daughter there, that they thought they got rid of that brown girl. I said because I paid for her to be here. The counsel stated that my daughter is aggressive and too sassy. That my daughter is making up situations and she is bothering the other camps and ask the other camps is they agreed which they did. I ask if they can please get along and be nicer because my daughter whats to ride a horse.. They agreed to try.. My daughter wanted to ride a horse that day and I left to pick her up at noon. My daughter was crying because they told her her no brown girls on the horse swing and never received a turn. I email Julie the owner of the camp for a refund on 300 since my daughter was only there 2.5 days out of 5. Their lawyer email me a letter saying how horrible my daughter was but that they will refund the 400 for being silent about the situation. At this point its not about the money but freed of speech to call out what this camp did to my daughter.

Our first experience with TRF was more than 2 years ago, when two of my daughters asked to go to summer horse camp. They both had a great experience and asked to begin lessons that fall. Both girls are competitive swimmers, but my older daughter has fallen in love with riding and TRF. Since their lessons began, my younger daughter has now focused on training for swimming and now running, and no longer rides, while my older daughter continues to take a weekly lesson from Julie. She also volunteers at TRF often, and now a teenager, has decided she wants to become a veterinarian and has been accepted into a STEM academy to help her academically. Four months ago, I began riding again, following a 40 year absence from the sport. Now, both my older daughter and I ride together in a weekly lesson with Julie. I have found Julie to be warm and inviting to both new and current students. She is very knowledgeable and is firm, but respectful with her instruction to her students. As both a parent and now as a student at TRF, I do recommend this stable. My family has enjoyed our time there.

From the moment my vehicle rounds the corner on Randol Mill I get excited. I know how much Love, Care, and Peace that is waiting for me there. When you are touched with that level of Grace, you are compelled to get involved. If you have anxiety, or know someone who can benefit from the joy this place provides, you need to schedule some time there. There are no crowds of people to worry about. Schedule a ride, or a lesson on a horse. It is a Non Profit Farm, so I am very blessed and proud to volunteer at Trinity River Farm & Equestrian Center and experience it as often as I want. I am a business owner and cook, but I make time to take care of myself through service, and I feel selfish when I leave there because I feel like I have received so much. There are more folks there just like me who feel what I’m saying, and share the Love. You can too.

I would just like to say I have no knowledge about things that happen at this barn, nor have I been there physically. An add came up on my facebook to volunteer time and help them spring clean. I looked into their barn to see if they were a rescue or non profit, and it said that it was a horse riding and boarding facility. Meaning they get paid to take care of horses and teach about horses. So why do they not pay their workers to clean up the barn? I expressed these thoughts on the post and I’m guessing the owner had to mention that I don’t know anything about this and I shouldn’t comment on things I don’t know about, she also mentioned that they are a non profit...All boarding facilities that I know pay their staff to clean the barn. That’s why we have staff. It’s not like I’m an employee for a facility like this one, oh wait, i am!! And i know that our boarders and riders expect us to keep the barn clean because it’s our JOB. This isn’t my first rodeo, and I know what a task it is to clean a barn, this is something that the employees need to be doing unless it’s boarders cleaning up tack rooms/lockers.

Best Birthday Party we have ever had! Our kiddos had such a safe and fun time, and Ms. Julie and her staff were so accommodating and kind. I love that the party included everything you could imagine down to the treat bags and the cake. It was so enjoyable! This place is a hidden treasure, and we plan to have more parties here in the future!

The care was severely lacking when I was there. My horse was left in a flooded pasture that resulted in a permanent injury and ultimately after spending over 4k on medical treatments, retirement. After my horse was injured the owner initially suggested i just give my horse time to recover in the same flooded pasture and wait a few days to call vet. I called vet anyways who recommended stall rest. My horse was put in a stall that hadnt been cleaned in months (myself and another individual not paid by barn spent hours stripping the stall and the others in barn as no one cleaned them regularly during my time there- I even went to feed store and purchased my own shavings as she didnt provide enough). The owner had talked to me about moving my horse to another barn in area due to concerns of hers flooding. I asked her to notify me if that was needed since my horse was difficult to trailer at times and I wanted to be present. I got a text after 10pm letting me know she had moved my horse without telling me. That is not the way to treat a horse owner. Feeding schedule was irregular (some days I would feed my own horse at 10am because he hadnt been fed yet) and after moving my horse to another facility to get out of the mess at TRFEC he required ulcer treatment. Julie spent as much time if not more on her phone during lessons as she did teaching. I hope for the sake of the horses there that things have improved there and that the owner seeks out trainer certifications and further education.

LOVE this farm! Ive been leasing their Western riding horse over the last month and Im head over heels for it! This is the first place ive seen even offer some sort of horse lease. I get to use their covered outdoor arena as well as the front field to ride. They also teach riding lessons, do birthday parties, and offer horse boarding. Julie is the sweetest and has helped me learn more about horse riding and care. You can tell she genuinely cares for all the animals here and for her students. The volunteers here are also wonderful. Theyve showed me better ways to tack up my horse and demonstrate proper horse care and grooming. This farm is truly one of a kind and I highly recommend anyone interested in riding to come check it out. Come see it for yourself!

After finding this place online, I booked my daughters birthday here. Since I had never been, I wasnt sure what to expect, but was more than pleased with how it turned out. All of the kids loved it! From riding horses, cooking hotdogs over the fire to playing and feeding all of the animals, it was a huge success and so much fun! I would highly recommend to anyone interested in booking a party, lessons, or summer camp. Julie was great, the venue was great, and the animals are obviously well taken care of. Thank you Trinity River Farm for such a great party as I have no doubt that my daughter and all of her friends will be talking about it for years to come!

Not sure what those other reviewers were talking about. I just had my first horseback riding lesson after I left riding for 27 years! Julie was kind, patient, and supportive after an emotional start. I’ll be going back for more lessons! And, unlike some reviewers, I know my limits, my level of experience, and I know when to say no if I’m not comfortable. Julie respected that as an instructor and didn’t push me to do anything I wasn’t comfortable with.

My best friend and I just had our daughters 5th birthday party here. It was amazing!!! The kiddos loved it all. They got to feed the horses, goats, and chickens. They LOVED riding the horses. They got to cook their own hotdogs over the fire, which of course they thought was awesome. The hayride was super fun. They birthday cake was delicious and super cute. And this mama was amazed at the value and relieved that they took care of ALL the details. 10/10 I would do it again.

TRF is basically my happy place. I’ve been taking English riding lessons here since the beginning of the year and some days I come out even when I don’t have a lesson because being here is truly good for the soul. Julie is an incredible instructor. She knows just when to challenge her riders and when to go easy on them. The horses at the farm are fantastic and one of the best parts of TRF is the community spirit of the place. People here are friendly, supportive, and always willing to lend a hand or share some words of encouragement. Today I fulfilled a lifelong dream of cantering over my first jump. That’s all thanks to Trinity River Farm!

I would never recommend this facility to anyone. The facility itself is run down and not taken care of. The fencing is not safe in two of the horse enclosures. At the front of the property there are multiple places for the horses to get injured. The goat enclosure at the front of the property has 3 baby goat skeletons from the owner not checking on the animals. The fence holes are big enough for the babies to escape and get hurt. A baby goat died on the property due to the owner refusing to call in a vet. The water troughs are consistently dirty and green. The facility owner is not often on property and is consistently late for lessons and appointments. During the lessons she is sitting in a chair and often seems very distracted while teaching. She has several horses that are sick or injured and no vet has been called out to the property. She does not have the ability to first aid an injured horse. She has horses that look very under weight. The property itself has buckets and random pieces of wood and metal strewn about.

Coming to the area from Connecticut.Went to check out the facility for boarding and full care. None of the information online was accurate. No one lives on the property or is available to keep an eye on things. When I met with one of the instructors to view the property it was 11:30 am, and the horses were just being fed breakfast (considering the property only feeds morning and night). The hay quality was very poor. The footing was very uneven in the extremely small covered arena. They have a field with jumps and there were pot holes everywhere. The barn had only two horses in it and the rest appeared to be used for storage and it looked like a mess. There is a poor, neglected sheep in the front near the gate entrance with disgusting dread locks all over its body and her utters are literally dragging on the floor. As I took a tour of the property I noticed numerous issues in the fencing and a horse was reaching its head to eat grass on the other side of the fence. The bendable, once high scale fencing wasnt properly put up or tightened so the horse was nearly fully extended out of his enclosure.Theres a few eye sores of junk scattered around the property . I asked about a round pen and it was inside one of the pastures with a good amount of horses living inside.Just thought people should know depending what board youre looking for.. The information on their website isnt accurate and the cost is not worth it.

My granddaughter lives on a farm where she frequently rides western. A few summers ago, we started a tradition where she would come to stay with me a week every summer. She picked TRF as her daily activity, and has never looked back! This quiet cowgirl has grown into to graceful, poised, award-winning equestrian rider. She competes regularly and is always calling and texting with more pictures of blue ribbons. TRF is a special place where children can grow and learn around horses. The owner and instructors are extremely patient and supportive of students, helping them to be the best that they can be. Thank you, TRF! Look for more of our grandchildren coming your way soon.

I had been riding here for a year and a half and just competed in my first show with this facility. I had been in 2 other shows with another barn before I transferred to TRF. Im not an expert by any means on prepping for a horse show but I felt much more prepared by my old barn than here. I never actually ran the pattern Id be running at the show while prepping, which I thought was very odd. I didnt even practice jumping that much and this was a jump show we were going to. I didnt feel very confident, needless to say. Well, I shouldve trusted my gut and never gone to that show.I ended up falling off during the competition. I didnt know I was supposed to run the pattern twice because I was never told that by the owner, who was the instructor. After my first lap, I thought I was done and started to do my courtesy circle. Julie yelled from the side of the arena to go again. I was caught completely off guard and off balance and steered the horse back towards the course. I had a bad feeling before we went over the first jump. My right foot came out of the stirrup and I was trying to get in back in before we went over the next one. I didnt have time and I ended up falling off, crashing through the jump before I hit the ground.Julie never asked me if I was ok. She kept saying Id be fine. Easy for her to say. The other trainers seemed more concerned about how I was than she did. After an ER visit, X-rays, a CT scan and a couple visits with an orthopedist, I found out I fractured my sacrum and a rib. 6-8 weeks until Im completely healed. Julie did not call ONCE to ask me how I am. If my student fell off, I would certainly be checking on them. I accept my part in this accident but she is at fault too. So I believe that mother who said in her review that the owner/trainer never called to check on her daughter when she fell off. When I was taking lessons from Julie, she was constantly on the phone. If I am paying someone good money to advance my riding ability, I expect their focus to be on me, not on their phone. It was unprofessional and discourteous. I never had that issue at my old barn. The property is dilapidated and not in good condition, along with the stalls. Needless to say I will not be returning to this barn. From the lack of professionalism, lack of caring and my not feeling safe any longer, I have no reason to.
