Great academy for kids and adults! Coach Story is the head instructor of the academy and he is on of the best coaches you’ll meet. Everything is amazing about this place, the people are nice and friendly, safe environment, and overall a great place to learn self defense. Personally I’ve been here for well over a year and I love the experience so far. I’ve gained and learned so much from this place that transfers to real life.

I have two children enrolled and they have stuck with it and have grown so much! They were 5 and 7 when they started and now they are 9 and 12 and still training. My daughter is one of the top competitors in her class when she used to cry a few years ago everytime she got on the mat. It has taught them both self confidence and determination. My 12 year old is on the spectrum and it has done wonders with his focus and attention. He is able to focus to the coaches and retains moves. I give Story BJJ 5 stars. I have been for more than half life and cherish every memory I have made here. And the people here are amazing every single last one of them. They are all very nice and this place helped me grow as a person and I will never forget what this place has done for me.

From the first day we came here my daughter has loved it ❤ . She has done very well. With her adha and dmdd diagnosis this has helped her focus. She has asked to help with chores around the house. Ive been going here for about 2 years and this is by far the best academy in the metroplex. Coach Story is a well recognized, and respected black belt. He is definitely one of the best to train under. Coach Story teaches phenomenal Jiu Jitsu which I have had the great privilege to learn. Not only is Coach Story a great BJJ instructor, he is a great teacher in general. Teaching mental toughness and mastering your own mind. I have been able to reach points I never new I could reach. If you want to learn quality Jiu Jitsu, gain mental toughness, and be around the nicest and most caring teammates. This is where you start.

I have been attending classes here for around 3 years and looking back I have come a long way in my training. The Head Coach is very active in his academy and is very detailed in his teachings. The Coaches are active in their training and most of them compete regularly so you know that the training you get is always evolving and up to date. The community of people here are some of the kindest I have ever met and everyone is very supportive and are willing to help you progress your Jiu Jitsu training even if you have never trained before. If you are experienced at Jiu Jitsu then this is the academy to take your training to the next level if you. If you have never trained before then this is a excellent community of People excited to see you get started.

I wasn’t sure what to expect going into coach storys gym since I’ve never done jiu jitsu before and I’m a bit of an introvert so this was a big leap for me to try this out. However, after my first class and getting to know coach story, his wife Misty, and the students that train there I knew that I had to join his team and it was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life! Now a year and a half later and I can confidently say that I’m in the best shape of my life but more importantly with the teaching of coach story I’m the best I ever felt mentally as well this school built my confidence to a level I always wanted and I’m grateful for that. I’d recommend anybody who is willing to improve and challenge themselves to come out and train at Story Jiu jitsu. 💪🏼

My daughter who started at the age of 3 and is now 4 has grown sooo much. I like the fact that you can bring youre kid up to 3 days a week if he/she have missed days.

This gym has been home to me for over 5 years now! I started training around 14-15 years old and I have to say, as a teen growing into an adult, Jiu-Jitsu has helped me become more disciplined and mature.The teammates here are so welcoming and helpful! The instructor Coach Story is a helpful Coach and a great competitor as well. Jiu-Jitsu has now become a really big part of my life and I have to say, this Gym has become my second home!

Great facility led by great instructors! Evolve has a fantastic learning environment for all ages! My son is 6 and started at the end of Aug 2019. Normal sports were of no interest for my kiddo, but he has really taken to the sport and enjoys his classes. It’s truly been a great way to boost self confidence for my kid.

This is a great gym. Good atmosphere. Was nervous about signing up because everyone else would be more advanced and in shape than me. Instructors are great. Very knowledgeable. Ive been going almost a month and I love it.

I have been a student in the martial arts for 33 years and I have been very impressed with Professor Story and the team at Evolve! They have been very welcoming and the communication is very good. The instruction that is taught is very detailed and the technical expertise is excellent! The entire crew is very friendly and there is not an ego driven atmosphere at all. Very Happy!

My son has only been going for a couple months so far, but he loves these classes. The coaches are all competent, patient, and fun. The best part is how much just going to these classes has improved his self-esteem and confidence. Its definitely worth the money. When I have a better budget, I intend to sign myself up for the adult classes.

This school is a fantastic place to train and develop your skills. Theres a great group of men and women that train there that make it feel like we are all on the same team, competing with and encouraging each other. Professor Story does a good job of breaking down techniques and inviting questions, helping each student to advance based on their goals and abilities. If this 41-year-old mom can do it, anyone can.

EVOLVE, has been a great turn around for my 5 year old, last year he was over weight and in just 6months in he’s more active than ever! He is loving jujitsu so much he has made so much progress and has his first match coming up soon ! The instructors here are super great , passionate and patient! I joined Evolve for the self discipline and get in shape. Im a lot smaller than most (5ft 138lbs) brute force and strength is not something I have. I came in with zero experience and they all took me in with open arms, teaching techniques to take down a larger opponent.Evolve is family owned and has a very calming atmosphere. Its not a every man for himself place here, everyone is like big family, continuously helping each other grow and become better. Im very glad to be apart of Evolve!

My grand kids are enrolled and absolutely live it the teachers are great the owners great. Small class sizes for more individual instruction. Im thinking of taking a class lol.😊

This academy does not deserve even 1 star. We enrolled our son for almost a year before I enrolled myself with hesitations because of our situation. My husband is currently in Afghanistan so yes, our communication is not easy. I am home with our two kids and I have a job myself. With sacrifice our attendance was 5 days a week, 3 hrs each day, and a 25 min drive. My reasons to start training jujitsu are self defense, bonding with my son, and a workout. Before I singed my contract we agreed that at some point during my training I was going to have to freeze my contract, he agreed to everything and was willing to work things out. My husband and i had questions about our son improvement, his belt rank, and competitions. I approached his wife & she could not tell me much or do much without his approval so she told me to message him. We both tried to reach him multiple times and he would leave us on read and not reply while promoting his academy. At that point we felt disrespected. Later on he confirmed my son would rank up to a gray/white belt multiple times and never did. He randomly started charging $35 for any type of ranking. I never knew until last minute, we paid for it and only got a stripe instead. I would have never paid had I known that. It is not fair that we cannot change anything in the contract but they can without even letting us know. I struggled adjusting and understanding the rules because when I first started I could not even do 10 push ups but he had me doing 60 in just one class rather than actually teaching me like the “instructor” he is suppose to be. I was frustrated and exhausted so I walked out of the mat, he asked if I was leaving and I replied “yes, or do I have to ask like the kids?” ever since he avoided me and my son instead of fixing or replying, so our attendance and willingness to show up dropped. For those reasons, and more we decided to move our son to another academy and freeze my contract like we agreed. He denied everything , said we wanted exceptions, and that he wished I never enrolled.Since he would not return my money I swallowed my pride and still showed up to class until he kicked me out in front of the whole class, instead of being a mature adult and take me to his office like he does with every other parent. He talks down about other academy’s like my son or myself can not improve anywhere else. I do wear evolve gi at another academy because I did pay for it so I can use it however I like. I can wipe my a** with it if I please!

Evolve bjj is great!Everyone is super nice and helpful. Ive been going to classes for 2 months now and I definitely see a huge improvement from when I first started. The classes arent too big so even as a newbie, I dont feel Im lost in the mix.

My son has been going here for a few months now. We love it! My son has been in karate since he was 6 years old. We were having a hardtime finding a good class for him. Until we found evolve. The class is great! Professor Story is a great teacher.My son loves Evolve! This school had everything we were looking for! Discipline, patience ,mentoring. Great school and very nice staff!!

Evolve BJJ is exactly what I wanted for my children in martial arts training. My 10 year old is learning from superb instructors, at a pace that is individualized inside a seemingly standardized class atmosphere. Most impressive.The attitude is truly to Evolve by learning, improving, and growing.I actively recommend Evolve to my friends, and business colleagues as the change in my daughter has been a joy to watch as her fitness, focus, confidence, self esteem, and leadership skills have sky rocketed.

The instruction for the kids was decent. What you need to watch out for is when you are signing up they do NOT tell you it is a 12 month contract. They have you signup after class. I kept mentioning to the instructor and verifying that I can cancel monthly if I didnt want to come. He said yes. What I was NOT informed was that I was signing a contract. And to cancel, I have to pay half of the remaining balance of that 12 month contract. My sons grades were going down in school so we decided to have him do extra after school activities at his school to get his grades back up instead of doing Evolve. His school is absolutely more important. The facility staff is NOT eager to work with you. All they say is that you signed a contract. They are all about taking money from people. I would HIGHLY suggest another facility in the area and NOT this one. Very unprofessional and unwilling to cancel anything without taking your money instead. Please be careful and proceed with extreme caution. Will not ever refer anyone to this place.

Great place, the only downfall is when you can no longer take your child there, but you still have an obligation to pay for services you dont get. If not, you will be sent to collections which is unfair to people that have to work and cant get their child there. No one even called and let me know or tried to work it out. Sent to collections like my child wasnt even a part of their family. But, its just business right?

Buyer beware they will cancel your contract and send you to collections. Who does that?! In 2013 we canceled exactly as they required and the were assured that everything was good. Now, FOUR YEARS LATER we find out they sent us to collections for an $1800 debt?! You have got to be kidding me. And we only find this out because Im trying to buy a house. So a contract that I properly CANCELED and no longer owed could affect my home buying. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves

This place is exactly what we expected and more. My son just loves this place. The instructors, are so great with the kids. On their night off on a Friday, they had Parents night out with nerf wars for the kids with volunteers as well, for 2 hours to let the parents have some free time. The kids and the volunteers had a blast. They also have dodge ball wars as well. The adults class is awesome as well they work really hard at training and learning new things. At this school everyone is family.

Very professional instructors, very fun atmosphere, spacious, clean gym, and students are all welcoming to new students. Would recommend it to anyone wanting to learn the art of BJJ for competition, personal goals, fitness, and/or self-defense. They have a large group of youths which makes it a great school for the entire family to train and grow together.

Beware!! These people were charging my card several times and my son wasnt even going to the classes. They even had you sweating in the summer in the so called gym because they were too cheap to turn on air for the children. Dont waste your time or your childs.

My wife and myself are VERY HAPPY with this school. My 4 yr old son has been coming here for 2 months and has learn a lot. His ground game has improve. Once again we are very happy and will be here for a long time.24 JULY 2019 Update: We decided to take my son to another school but before that my wife was motivated to get into Jiu-Jitsu, so signed a one year contract. once the contract was signed and they knew we was taking my son to another school, They didnt like that. We tried getting our money back but they refused. The only reason my wife goes there now because she still has a one year contract and she gets no guidance at all. She just rolls with her partner without no tips to make sure she is doing the right moves or not. THEY ALL ABOUT THE MONEY.

My daughter daniella has been going to evolve for a year now and she loves it very much. Shes very happy that the instructors invited her to the next testing in her next rank. We love it because it teaches her about discipline and self esteem self defense and control I would recommend it for anyone

My son has ADHD and OCD I have been having problems with him since he was 3 years old. Ever since he had joined Evolve I have been seeing very slowly how he have been improving. This class not only teaches you self-defense, but also to focus, self-discipline, and respect. My son has been going there for about 2 1/2 months and I have not been disappointed yet!!

I have been training at Evolve Bjj for a little over 5 years, its like a second famliy. There are no egos and everyone gets along. There are high ranks there as well, you can also roll with a black belt or two. I would not go anywhere else. Very good group of guys and lots of rolling.

Great place! I decided to start my son in help with his school (he had issues with focus and self disipline), and it has helped so much. He has had so much fun and looks forward to every class. It has also been fun to see him progress over the months. Both Mr. and Mrs. story have been very helpful from the start, and have answered any question i have had.Now i have placed my daughter in as well (she wasnt old enough before, and watching her, i can tell that she has been watching her brother. She is now enjoying it just as much, and wants to go on days she does not have it too.Even my grandmother, who seemed like she would rather i had put them in like soccor or gymnastics, has been very happy with my decision to enroll them in their jui jitsu course. I look forward to this being something they share as they get older.

Dont ever compete in Evolve tournmanents. Disorganized, disoeganized, disorganized. They did not prepare the brackets, did not weigh people in correctly (some were told to put on their gis while others didnt), and did not follow their double elimination rule as stated on their website. A lot of competitors felt short changed and did not get properly matched.No A/C, no water fountains and limited parking/space.A handful of competitors only had 1 match, and none of the white belt women had anyone in their division to have a proper match! They even had a referee come in and try to compete to put more girls in the competiton.The owner refused to refund and was VERY rude AND greedy! Stay away from this po dunk facility at all costs.

Waste of my time, all they care about is there competition team and thats all they focus on... Also dont tell you about contract renewing yearly .. Would not recommend this place to anyone EVER felt like they were dishonest and very rude and unprofessional when it came time to cancel contract.
