I have two kids learning music at 7 Notes. Older one in Music Friends class and younger one in Junior Music course where I attend the classes alongside my kid. In addition to a great curriculum and quality teaching, Eileen has understanding of how kids learn music, how to sustain their interest, when they hit a plateau and how to bring them back on track. She has several measures (30 day challenge, Master class where she makes kids play and provide inputs, parent connect, inspirational messages in school/social media etc..) to sustain and bring back kids interest in music. I drive a bit every week to get to her school but I found it to be worth it.

After going through several music schools in the DFW area in 2018 for our sons piano lessons, we were fortunate to find Eileen and her school - the 7 Notes Yamaha Music School. The 7 Notes facility is superbly furnished and equipped. The staff are great in terms of being attentive, courteous and friendly. Eileen is very supportive and gives individual attention to each student; she does an amazing job in resolving scheduling issues and working with students & their parents. She takes her time to go around and really connect with every child in the class. She makes sure every child is getting the attention and learning as much as possible. She is sweet and knows her way with kids. Ms. Tan (the owner) has been wonderful ever since we started and has been really welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. My 8 year old learns piano and voice from Mr. Jesus Selva. She started in Feb 2020 and had 2 or 3 lessons in person. All her lessons have been virtual since then. She has learned a lot in last 10 months and was able to perform Silent Night - piano and voice during the year end performance. 7 notes has nicely designed structure to help kids learn and stay interested. And the teachers are very talented and know how to encourage kids. Ms Tan, founder of 7 notes, is very innovative and comes up with so many ways to keep kids motivated like monthly mastery connect, October challenge and twice a year performance (mid year and end of the year). I am looking forward to next year of learning and fun for my daughter.

Enrolling at 7 Notes has been a win-win for our family! First off, the Yamaha music curriculum is superb method for learning to play the piano. Yamaha teaches you to listen first, sing the notes and THEN play and this process can be applied over and over to learn new songs on your own. On top of that, the classes are fun and fast-paced, keeping the kids engaged. It makes so much sense! Second, under the leadership of Ms. Tan, 7 Notes is a well-run music school with a top-notch team. Ms. Tan has a vision for the school that carries through in everything they do. My son has been enrolled in the piano program for about 3 years. As a musician, I have seen a few important aspects of the Yamaha school compared to traditional piano lessons. First, the class environment is fun for kids as the teachers keep the class involved. Ms. Claudia keeps each class exciting, and she really cares about her students personally, as well as ensuring that they keep progressing musically. Next, my son is already learning music theory (only in 1st grade), as simple harmonic sequences have been emphasized over the last couple years. Also, singing in class reinforced learning basic solfege and ear training. Lastly, learning how to play together in a group is an important skill that is difficult to emulate with traditional piano lessons. I have found the teachers to be flexible in providing more challenging music for my son.

You can tell she has so much experience with young children, and by the second class our daughter was singing and dancing in the middle of the circle. Its a great time for parents to spend with their child in a social, musical environment. I know shes learning, because when we go home and read the book from class (which they give you a copy of with your home materials package) she already remembers the story and songs! The facility is clean, bright and a wonderful place to bring our daughter for music class. We love the staff, and the other parents and children that come to the school. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Its a worse place. They are worse at managing things. I had enrolled my two kids in January but they messed up with the enrollment of my younger son. There is no coordination the front desk says something which the director/ manager/ owner is unaware of , its very strange. They were just after quick moneyAt the very beginning while enrolling my elder kid, I had communicated my travel plan for 5 weeks and owner confirmed that there will be 3 make up classes done and 2 additional classes as special case without being told about any other conditions. And with that confirmation I enrolled my kid. Before taking off for travel in October I again confirmed the same with them that I would not be around for next 5 classes and I was assured that private coaching will be given to my child. Since I trusted them and did not take anything on my mail which is the very big mistake I did ,they showed their true color i .e. Just enroll kids giving false commitments for money. I returned back in November and asked for the coaching, forget 5 classes not even single make up class was given. I was told only if I register for next year I am entitled for the class now the year is ending we are not giving any classI must say they are absolutely cheat. They also kept on changing teachers / instructors without any prior notice.( probably no teachers are happy or comfortable teaching there)Please dont waste time and hard earned money by enrolling your kids here.Last but not least never trust them whatever they say take everything in writting or on mail. I have repented by enrolling my kid and wasting my hard earned money I dont want anyone to face or suffer like I did. I am so very thankful to my friends who were about to enroll their kids in January along with me cancelled it after listening to my experiencesI am certainly going to spread the word in my friends and community as I dont want them face the hardship.

My review is for Ms. Tan and Yamaha 7 Notes, in Frisco, Texas. When we arrived to Texas, we researched 5 different piano schools. After careful research and assessment we chose 7 Notes and our son (then in 1st Grade) started piano with them and took the Yamaha Exams successfully FSS and Grade 10) at the end of every year. There are several aspects that, in our opinion, make this Academy outstanding in terms of quality:- The Director and owner of the Academy is always there when you need;- All efforts are made for the students to excel: the Yamaha System is well structured, the books and CDs are amazing for their age, and the methodology followed by the 7 notes is very concise and methodic;- The premises and environment are great (waiting room, classrooms, private classrooms);- The tuition is very competitive;- The Academy offers two Recitals a year, and it is unbelievable the efforts made by the Academy to put everything together, year after year. These events had a huge positive impact in our son;- 7 notes offers also the opportunity to play in a Seniors Home once a month and even in the Street in Frisco downtown once a year. Surprisingly, this had an incredibly outcome in our son’s education as well; The Exams (optional) taken at the end of every course are taken very seriously by Yamaha Education Institution and they have Musicians flying from California to 7 Notes every year to assess them since these tests are well known around the world. Our son took one every year and pass them with outstanding results (repertoire, sight playing, accompaniment, improvisation and hearing) in Yamaha 7 Notes. The reason for this was the aspects mentioned above and the quality offered by 7 Notes in assessing every student. We have recommended 7 Notes to three different families from work and school and they always mention how happy they are for choosing the same Academy.Final note... we truly think that for our son, going to Yamaha 7 Notes had a positive and significant impact at school and his grades.Thank you 7 Notes!

This place has ZERO tolerance for kids who are having trouble participating in class. My son went there for the 3 year old piano class and we got kicked out in the middle of the class. Mind you, this was his FIRST time and he did try to participate here and there, singing parts to songs, etc. But he wasnt sitting still as much as expected and he wasnt fully participating; he wasnt listening to EVERYTHING the instructor said. He wasnt screaming and he wasnt loud; he was not even close to disturbing the class!. He was just having trouble fully participating in his FIRST DAY OF CLASS!!!. IMO, they should have at least waited until the class finished out of common courtesy and to give the kid time to warm up. Its a new environment for a 3 year old people! Read any book on early childhood education and you will know your expectations for a 3 year old in his first day of class is completely unrealistic! He has done exceptionally well in Kindermusik and the instructor loves him because he participates with enthusiasm. But it took him a few weeks to warm up and get to that point.I recommend 7 notes sends their instructors to a childhood development and education class, or they will be losing a lot of business.Sayonara!

Eilene and her entire team are incredible. We started taking our daughter here about 4 months ago for socialization since we are a stay at home parent household and she doesnt see other kids often. She started out a little hesitant, shy and actually cried for the entire first class. Eilene kept reassuring us that shed warm up in no time and never seemed frustrated or agitated that our little one was crying. Fast forward to the next week and the week after and our little one has improved drastically. Shes a social butterfly now and its been so fun to watch her transition happen. We love the class so much and have seen such an improvement that we take her twice a week. Amazing class and absolutely phenomenal teacher. Eilene not only entertains the children in the class but all of us parents too.

This is my sons 2nd year at 7notess and I really appreciate the patience their instructors have with him. Charde at the front is wonderful always willing to help with a smile. Mrs. Tan the director is great with my son and he just loves her. They also have a summer camp that my son loves, this is his 2nd summer attending. A truly great place!

We cant say enough good things about 7 Notes Music School. My daughter is just finishing up her second year of class piano and she has come a long way. I wish I had a school and curriculum like this when I was young. She is now starting to write her own songs and has developed perfect pitch and relative pitch to an impressive degree. Our class piano teacher, Miss Claudia is fantastic. She is a treasure. She is always cheerful and clearly loves what she does. She has a sincere interest in each and every student. She has the uncanny ability to come up with innovative exercises to help a student through a sticking point in understanding theory or technique. Ive learned a great deal myself from her from sitting in class. The private teachers that we have experience with have all been likewise excellent. I found them very attentive and focused during the lesson on my daughter and her technique with great recommendations to me for exercises for improvement. The rest of the staff are also always incredibly helpful and accessible and be flexible to go the extra mile to solve whatever problem you have.Communications by email are frequent and informative with at least one email a week and courtesy callsMy daughter is extremely interested in doing the summer STEM course but she doesnt meet the age requirement yet. Shell be doing one of the musical camps this year and is excited for that. Weve enrolled for the third year of group piano and hope to continue with the program as long as we can.Parental participation is a requirement in JMC and I believe your childs progress depends greatly on your commitment to the program and home practice. Ive used it as an opportunity to set an example of sticking to a routine and putting a little time in every day eventually leading to big gains. It is a lesson I wish I had learned at that age.Our only regret is not finding 7 Notes sooner for the Kindermusic program.

My daughter is just completing her third year of group lessons at 7 Notes (she is 9 years old now) and I am amazed by how much she has learned. I also took lessons starting at 6 years old and I learned how to read music and play fairly well in the six years of my lessons. My daughter is learning so much more than just how to read the music. While just have fun in her weekly lessons, she has not only learned to read and play music, but has developed her ear (she has learned the basic chords for 5 different keys to accompany a melody), she is singing on key, and is able to write music as well. By just attending the lessons with her, Ive learned so much more as well! I highly recommend 7 Notes to anyone who wants to give their child the lifelong gift of music.

Weve been coming to this school for about 8 years now. When we first started, my daughter had been in Kindermusik classes before. She also had a 12 word vocabulary at the time. Starting in Kindermusik helped her to start building her vocabulary and social skills. After Kindermusik, we moved on to the next class in the Yamaha curriculum, beginner piano classes. In this class, kids learn to be musical while learning the basics of piano (finger usage, beat, posture, etc) along with beginner solfege (do, re, mi, etc). I wasnt sure if she would thrive in this class like she did in the previous class, but she loved it and grew! She is now taking private lessons and going through the Royal Conservatory Music track. Her instructors have helped her start testing through the RCM levels. All the teachers weve had experience with have been great! They have fun with the kids and help them learn without thinking about how theyre learning.Im glad we started coming here! Its been great for my daughter and has helped her grow musically, socially, and cognitively.

I started taking private violin classes from the fifth grade for middle school music classes. As a 7th grader, I have now entered the second (out of 4) class in a school orchestra class. The daughters efforts are, of course, but the teachers teaching methods are very creative and they are fun to learn. It was Yamaha, and I thought that it was just a steady basic practice like music education in Japan, but it was completely different and I felt like playing a lot of songs and improving. Parents put their parents in the room every time, and even if they dont speak English, the music education is pretty good. The monthly fee is around $ 1600 with a one-year discount. One 30-minute private lesson. You can get rescheduled early if you contact us. Online lessons such as FaceTime are also available. Presentations are also held about twice a year, which is a very good stimulus. The owner, Ms. Tan, is very kind and speaks well to me, who does not speak much English. Did you sign up for a recital? Have you ever been troubled? If you meet, you will always be careful. Thanks to that, I have not missed any information.

The attention has been excellent, they offered me a virtual test class for my 5-year-old daughter, the class was fabulous, the girl kept the attention to the tutor at all times, neither the language nor the topic of the virtual class was a barrier. 100% recommended, for virtual classes.
