The Emilia School is a great daycare and has a wonderful Kindergarten program! The teachers are extremely caring and supportive with children. Special thanks to Ms. Shawna for going above and beyond to accommodate my daughters multiple food allergies! I also enjoy the daily pictures sent via their app and fun family events.

Our child attended approx 15 months (Jan 19-March 20) and we are interested in utilizing this child care center again. Overall the experience was positive. The social emotional development was appropriate and esp after new management took effect approximately 9 months ago, the difference was amazing. Ms Aliie, now the assistant director, is a warm, caring, and sharp provider who really understands early childhood developmentThe curriculum is an appropriate balance of structure and child-led. Under Miss Chelsea and Miss Allies management, we saw the center stabilize. The flexibility and kindness of the staff is second to none.

I appreciate that the ever changing staff are knowledgeable, kind, team oriented and honest. I have enjoyed knowing my children are cared for by a staff that are patient, playful, nurturing respectful and responsible. My kids have blossomed socially and academically sense attending the Emilia school full time.

Up until COVID hit we had two kids enrolled and were very happy with the Emilia School. The teachers in both the Infant and Toddler 1 rooms were incredibly caring, consistent, and transparent. Management was always responsive to any concerns. Most importantly, we always felt confident leaving both our boys in their hands each morning, knowing they were going to be affectionately cared for and kept safe. The teachers feel like family and we have full trust in our kiddos care when they are at The Emilia School.

My child is so happy to be here. Makes friends, gets her online classes done, and has bonded with the teachers. Lots of interesting art and play projects. And, she loves the food! Thank you, Emilia.

Prior to Covid-19 my daughter was in the toddler room. We have had such a wonderful experience! She cannot wait to go back to “school”. She loves her friends and her teachers! We have always had prompt communication from everyone at Emilia whenever we’ve had questions. I love the teaching style and curriculum, I love to see my girl thriving and I know Emilia is a big contributor to her growth!

Since the new management we have been incredibly impressed with Emilia! The teachers are transparent and have become a trusted source for us for any questions. Even during the time off due to COVID-19 we have talked and had a Facetime chat with his teacher to stay connected. Prior to the new normal we loved the group gatherings they had where we got to meet and connect with other parents and really get to know all the class and every teacher in the building, not just my sons. We are heading back after the recent break and I feel very comfortable sending my son with the awareness of all the safety protocols put in place. We are ready to get my son reunited with his friends and teachers he so greatly misses.

I would absolutely never recommend this daycare to anyone. Not only was one of the teachers mean to my child to the point that I needed to move her to a younger class and give notice that I was leaving within a week of attending...but they didnt notice any injuries that my child sustained while she was on their playground. Additionally, I am still waiting for a refund for the amount that they had overcharged me for due to their poor billing practices. My child was miserable there and so were we as parents. So happy that we are not there anymore and I definitely hope that this review prevents other parents from going through what we did.

We transferred our son and daughter from their partnered school around the corner Sunny Day on Morse rd to The Emila’s School like many other parents that did the same. They had a good Director in the beginning, that has now left the school and since immediately they’ve fallen apart. They’ve been having incidents continuously with our child and others, with another child scratching other kids. Our 20 month year old child has came home with scratches all over his face not ONCE, TWICE but 3x!!! With me and his mother witnessing in front of the teachers while dropping him off the little girl running up and clawing our child! Given the fact that these are children the new director continuously came up with BS lies. Mentioning that her child has been scratched up too by the same child and that her husband was even Having a fit. Imagine if you’ve seen it twice what goes on while not there. They stated that they were going to move the child out of the infant room several times because she was too old to be in there BUT LIED!!! Everyday while dropping and picking out children up the child was still in the same room, the issue was NEVER RESOLVED!! Once I had gotten my child strapped in the car seat and noticed a scratch on his nose and immediately took him in, a teacher said that he was scratched by the same child and did another incident report, like really you were really going to let me walk out and hope I wouldn’t notice WOW!! The new Director mentioned this was all new to her several times, as far as what to do, that she was going to follow up with an email or a call us after talking to the other parent and never did in a timely manner. There are some good employees here mixed in with a weak head staff that is terribly unorganized. Our daughter that’s 5 that we’ve paid for soccer classes hasn’t even been to her classes even after mentioning it. We’ve noticed marijuana smoke during the evening hours 3x while picking the kids up. This just makes you wonder even more when they’re not paying attention and taking responsibility for what they say. School is in a good location but performance since the old Director Elaine has left, has fallen off dramatically fast and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place.

Things started off great but things changed quickly. They advertise an all organic fresh kitchen yet my almost 2 year old was fed Doritos and double stuffed Oreos in the same day. The next day their lunch consisted of a hot dog and potato chips. Other classrooms were being given candy as well. On more than one occasion my child’s blankets and crib sheets were thrown into a pile with other children’s belongings. One of the assistance teachers heavily relied on YouTube and came to work with hickeys on her neck. Another teacher was screaming at her own children in front of other kids. I picked up my child one afternoon with a large bruise on his head and no incident report was provided, and I was never notified of anything happening until after I saw the bruise. Some of the teachers are really great, but the overall culture here is highly concerning.

First, some small stuff. The website advertises an organic kitchen. Its obvious that its not. Now, Ms. Rhonda, the cook, is a sweet woman who makes some great lunches for the kids. But right away youre being lied to.When we toured the facility, the woman (Christina) told us she was the owner. That she used to be an OBGYN nurse and left to open daycares. Come to find out that she is NOT the owner. She lied to our faces. They have a fingerprint scan system to get into the main lobby (which never works anyway), but theres also a button that the children themselves can push from INSIDE THE LOBBY to open the main door. Huge safety hazard. When we first started at Emilia my younger child was a few weeks shy of turning three. We asked Christina if she could go in the preschool room instead of the toddler room since she was incredibly verbal and more than able to hold her own with the older kids. I have it IN WRITING that this was the plan. Then my child was put in the toddler room. When we asked Christina to move her up like we had discussed, she reported that my child was doing SO much better once this change had been made, and she was probably just bored being with the little kids who werent engaging with her. Shocking. My older child was BERATED by the teacher more than once. I mean brought to tears when this teacher screamed in [my] face (my kids words) in the stairwell. We were told stories every day of how mean the teacher was, how my child was disciplined for simply asking questions, and my younger child reported this same teacher literally dragging her by the arm up the stairwell (where, conveniently, there are no video cameras). I never saw the staff members smiling with the kids or engaging with them. One day I walked in for pickup and saw a teacher sitting down in the middle of the room, on her cell phone, while the children played around her. Same teacher on another day had the kids watching television while sitting on seats that were pushed up against the wall on which the screen was mounted, so they were all craning their poor little necks straight up. When I confronted her about it, she said that she is usually with the younger kids so she didnt know the rules for the older kids. Then what is she doing being left in charge of the older kids?Another teacher made it a daily habit to deny my younger child the pacifier that we provided for nap time. There is no rule against using one, but this teacher would every day tell my child that it was not an option to have it and that big kids do not use pacifiers. When we complained about this, the director and Christina both told the teacher that she was to give the pacifier to my child. She continued to refuse. The children were constantly stuck in front of the large television that is mounted to the wall in the lobby. Christina told me that this is for professional staff development. Yet many days at pick up the children were sitting, like zombies, glued to the television. I addressed these issues with Christina more than once. Each time I was told that it had been handled. At best it went from being a daily thing to an every-other-day thing. One day my younger child had an accident and wet her pants. When I came to get her at the end of the day, her soiled clothes were lying scattered on the bathroom floor attached to her classroom. Our dietary restrictions for our kids were routinely ignored. Plain and simple. Good thing it wasnt an actual allergy situation.Other kids items were constantly placed in my younger childs cubby, so it should come as no surprise that they lost a comfort item: a blanket. When I emailed Christina to tell her we wanted this back (after we had withdrawn), I described it to her as a pale green blanket with a silky green border. I got an email back telling me that she had it. My husband went to pick it up and it was a pink fleece blanket. The incompetence is truly mind-boggling.I could go on and on. But Google wont let me. So heres the takeaway: look elsewhere, ANYWHERE ELSE, for childcare for your children.

Not impressed. I heard from a parent how unprofessional the staff are. Beware of this place. Would not recommend.
