I am currently a student and have been for several months now. I am 40 years old and was turned on to Hapkido by a fellow student / friend. I didnt about this particular martial arts techniques but did study Kung Fu when I was a child, so I pretty much knew nothing at this point. Master Lawrence allowed me to participate in 2 weeks of free lessons in order to see if I would like to continue with the practice. I can tell you I saw an increase in stamina immediately after those 2 weeks. The exercise contained within one hour sessions made me feel great. Initially I just wanted to join for exercise but I found myself learning so much about Hapkido and the discipline. Early on my joints would always hurt making me less agile, but now have no more paint due to the stretching and training. Im a business owner myself and run my show, but here Im a student like the others. Ive learned once again how to take commands and orders. This has blead over into my business, where I am more open to listening to my staff and overall improved my management skills. Ive been learning techniques in self defense, striking, kicking and grappling as well which is extremely fun and a great workout. Master Lawrence is an avid martial artist. He teaches us techniques he has learned not only from Hapkido but from other martial arts as well. This is the place where I was able to find my inner warrior.
