Its a good highschool, clean environment, great pool and football field. One of Glendale’s best and the Largest high school. Great Buildings and classrooms. Across from Toll middle school which it’s easy choice for most of middle schoolers. Teachers are good. Parking and traffic gets really hard to get during morning hours. And a bus line is passing through which makes it more difficult to move. New computer lab and art buildings are amazing additions to the already great facilities.

Hoover is a great school. Great opportunity to keep the students busy if they are interested to be involved. There is a choice for everyone. They have great teachers but also not all of them are perfect like every other school. My son got bullied but he talked to the principal years ago and the problem was solved perfectly.

I graduated in 2001 and I have to say that it is a great school. I walked home every day and the neighborhood was safe and clean. The teachers are a diverse group and I have the utmost respect for them. I hope to send my kids there when the time comes and have seen them doing renovations on the school which is nice and it reflects well on the community around it.

I went to this school. Horrible. Teachers and staff were abusive. I didnt feel safe. Very racist atmosphere and not much was done to prevent such hate. My education here was stunted by many of the Teachers and administrative staff. It was in the mid nineties things may have changed but be mindful that if it did happened once it still could to your children. Im still haunted by my experiences at this school. Which says a lot being that Im in my 30s. Horrible.

I would first start by ignoring the reviews with spelling and grammar issues.Hoover High School is a great school, however, no school is perfect. Hoover had an unmatched music program when I attended and many of the athletic teams were first class. Not all of the teams were winners though. They have many dedicated teachers for the higher learning courses, and (more often than not) mediocre staff for standard classes. This phenomenon is largely due to higher learning courses attracting a more dedicated individual to teach it. Not different from any other school. I would warn against the administration. Many tend to let the small amount of authority go to their head and my parent and parents of other students found themselves regularly bumping heads, arguing and fighting (though not physically) with out-dated policies or unreasonable judgement. Hopefully, this has changed for the better since I attended those years ago.Hoover and Glendale both enjoy the oldest high school rivalry west of the Mississippi River. It is a big tradition to have a parade at the school and student participation is encouraged and often rewarded with great memories and lasting friendships. There was even a time when the homecoming football game was played in the Rose Bowl in Pasadena and parades on Brand Blvd.Would I go back, if I had a choice? Yes. Is there room for improvement? Always. Would I send my kids there? Yes. The key to a good school is parent participation and student participation. Get involved and make it count.

My daughter is a Junior there. She likes the school due to the diversity of the student body and the classes they offer. She also likes the music program and Marching Band which is top notch.

To start my review; I fractured my foot and they lent me an elevator key; but a week after returning the key, they tell me that I havent returned the key, when I clearly have. I dont feel motivated to learn there. The English classes dont seem to teach you important information. The teachers hand you a worksheet after a short lecture and expect you to know the material right away. Mr Larson and Mr Peterson were the only teachers whom I felt inspired by, and the rest felt like they were forcing you to learn. For some bizarre reason, P.E. gives you worksheets to complete. Ive learned more from the internet and television than I have from this school. I recommend homeschooling instead of going here, because the teachers actually try helping their students unlike Hoover. I recommend picking a different school to attend.

This is probably the worst school in gusd. I agree 100 with Edrick, Zodiac, and Sweety Man. Ive been going to Daily now, and Ive been passing all my classes and its a way better experience. If I knew, I would have started coming to Daily earlier. You dont feel safe going to Hoover, because there is a fight almost every week. I was never motivated to do well there, and I was usually depressed every morning knowing I had to go to that school. The only teachers I liked were Mr Luna and Mrs Brownstein. There are way better schools to send your kids to. I will never regret leaving this school, and it is one of the best decisions I have made in a while.

The teachers sucked, the school was always dirty, the security was poor, and its always battle of the races . I was a new student here from vegas and I was scared . But I grew a lot in this school and even through all the negative things I learned the most in this highschool than the other three ive been too. I wish I went all four years here , this is a great school. so yeah teachers suck butg they try everyday , the school is dirty but no one pays attention to it, the security sucked but it was definatley part of the fun in school , and as the race thing I think racism will never go away and all races experience it but its important to be proud of who you are and never let anyone tell you different .
