Its a great experience for me to send my kids to Basis hopefully all the parents will agree with me . few things to be noticed to be the most effective school in this valley. first one is that to maintain the teachers and students happy.keeping more activities for students and maintain a effective sports club and social activities.whatever may the reason lots of teachers were leaving from school ,parents doesnt know whatz the reasons for leaving.its make parents confused.hopefully every thing will be fine

Sure your kid will get a great education. However dont expect communication from the school. Been waiting for weeks for Mr. Bowley to return my call. Also when my daughter had a accident at school and was hurt they never called us and did not send her to the nurses office. Was differently a better school last year. Love the idea of the school not a fan of the people running it.

I can echo the experience of many others who were terrorized. I actually was cursed out by a school official in charge of operations because I ran over a cone. Never mind the fact that he had blocked a traffic lane without warning that day - WITH HIS CAR - so I had no choice but to drive the wrong way in what was already a nightmare parking lot. We were founding Goodyear families, and really had hoped this would be the fit for our kids who have tested gifted and need the challenge. Unfortunately, their senior most staff tormented my son (who had been bullied for years at his previous school) and targeted him, increasing his stress and resulting in anxiety and PTSD that is the fault of BASIS Goodyear. I struggled as I constantly tried to engage with the staff and instead of solving root causes for issues they simply decided to target, bully and publicly humiliate my son. I am so thankful we left, but really miss key teachers. They treat their teachers and staff terribly and in turn also treat parents like we are idiots. In the beginning many folks wanted to help make it the best school on the west side, and unfortunately, the arrogance and shortsightedness, coupled with the immaturity and anger issues on the operational side, simply made it impossible. Think twice before bringing your kiddos here. They do not pay the teachers what they are worth, and they do not work to retain teachers well.

We are thrilled our daughter is attending BASIS Goodyear School. She is receiving a world class education in an environment that will prepare her for the rigors of higher education in the future. The Boosters (like a PTA) are invaluable, hosting fun events for the students and their families; and the other parents all play a role in the education of their children, working in concert with the phenomenonal educators.

I dont usually write a review, but I have to do this so other parents will not be treated the way they treated me. My whole family went to this school to drop off enrollment packet. My husband was the one driving, its our first time in this school. So we are not familiar with the area. My husband park in the wrong parking lot, and it was an honest mistake. There is no sign that says we cant park there. While I was in the front office waiting, I was approached by a guy holding a broken cone. And said to me, Did you guys do this?, Did you guys do this on purpose?, Is there a reason why you did this?.While showing to me the broken cone. Those are his exact question to me. I will never forget it because this is the first time I was badly and rudely treated. I said sorry, and that we didnt realized that we hit the cone nor we did it on purpose. We offered to pay for it, and the guy told me that he will not charge us for it, and said next time, be aware of your surrounding and RESPECt the property because this could be a student. First of all, we are there to drop off papers, we are not there to disrespect the property. And most importantly, we are not there to run over a cone on purpose and we are not going to run over a student. I am a parent, all my 3 kids are inside the van. Me and my husband always tried to be careful, but we are not perfect. If we accidentally hit a cone, we sincerely apologized but please dont judge us. Or lecture us about respect, that guy is the one who is disrespecting me. He does not know how to talk to people. I am in the medical industry and my husband was in the military. We know about being aware of our surrounding and the word RESPECT. If thats the way they talk to a parent, I wonder how they talk to their student. Please teach your staff how to talk to people. There is a right way to do it and that is with RESPECT.

Love this school! When there are problems, they get fixed. Yes, there is homework, but it is really manageable, at least in the primary grades. The goal is not to get straight A’s but to be challenged. If you want your kid to be a straight A student only, this may not be the place for you. However my kids love it and are taught that failure is how people learn. The kids are exposed to “specials” which includes Mandarin, Engineering, Art, and Drama. It is a great balance of science and the arts.Drive line is a pain the first 2-3 weeks as there is an increase in students and traffic year after year. This year only goes up to 10th grade, next year will be 11th, and the year after that will be 12th. So each year, a new grade gets added which means more traffic. The teachers are wonderful and my kids are excited to go to school every day. I have no idea if we can survive the 5th grade on, but if my kids are up for it, so am I.

Our grandson attends this school. It is outstanding. No boredom here and a fast pace that demonstrates best practices instructionally. I am a retired educator and I am amazed by the gains the kindergarteners have shown. Unbelievable! Bravo!

Ive been en educator for 15+ years and Im an older mother so Im not easily taken in by new age academia. My child had always attended private school (yes it can be done, even on a teachers salary with grants and scholarships). But... when I learned that there was a chance for an excellent education out there without the excellent cost, I looked into it. Unfortunately, Basis Ed is hype with a ever-so-capital H. My child attended for 1 year, and I was disgusted at best. All the work my childs previous school had done, the joy of attending school every day, the desire to learn and discover had been undone by this school. I quickly wondered why my child was bringing home such a tremendous amount of homework. What is being taught at school if my child is doing such a huge load of work at home that they are up till 10 to 11PM at night attempting to complete it (in the 4th grade). The school themselves will tell you they are a, Rigorous college preparatory program. This is a RED flag and should be to any parent. When a child can be actively and properly taught in a private setting making high grades, but suddenly your rigorous college prep program is sucking the life out of the them. Something needs to change. In addition, Basis is going to ask for your money. Basis explains that to pay their teachers properly for the great work they do, they NEED your contributions. Of which I had been happy to contribute, until I had been seeing these little things that spooked my spidey senses. Behavioral issues not handled properly, nurses office poorly staffed, etc. on my tours of other countries Ive seen great teachers provide awesome educations on sidewalks with rock chalk. The difference is the symbiosis between the teacher and student. My Child was removed, and is back at a private school. Again loving to learn and making straight As. What is NOT happening is hours upon hours of nightly homework. The school teaches while my child is at school. This is what should be happening. If at any time you are made to feel guilty about someone doing their job, maybe THEY are in the wrong business NOT you.

The BEST teacher at this school is Mr. Vasil no doubt. The ONLY problem is that this school has a principal who wastes money and school funds on mediocre things. EXAMPLES: Popcorn machine, stupid trafficing cones between car lanes, flat screen TV for pick up, new school sign, floating advertising man and pickmykidup app. THE TEACHERS DONT EVEN HAVE EXPO MARKERS!!!!!
