My son has been attending here for almost 2 years and we love it. Before Super T my son was having some serious anger issues, had low self esteem and was struggling in school. We searched professional help and Karate was recommended. We searched many different places and found Super T to be the best option for our family. After a month of my son starting Karate his anger, self esteem and school grades all improved. We can’t imagine not having Karate in my son’s life and has become a lifetime investment. The staff is amazing, patient with the kids, hard working individuals and always joking with the kids. Super T Karate teaches important life lessons and practices what they teach (integrity, self-control, respect, honesty, and trust). We are blessed to be apart of Super T Karate.

I have been attending Super T Karate for a few years now and also signed my special needs son in classes a couple years ago. The staff is fantastic with students of all ages and work to help those students with special needs without making the student fell different from the rest of the class. Super T Karate has become one of the most influential places in my life and I plan on staying and giving back to the school for everything my son and I have been given as students.

My son started at SuperT as a young teen, now hes a black belt. The change in him over the years of training has been dramatic. He has increased in confidence, and is a formidable force, yet has the discipline and self-control to match his skill. Fabulous DoJo. Super T is a scam. At every turn they will be asking for more money. They wont allow you to use any gear that you didnt buy from them at nearly double cost. They push kids through levels so they can ask for more money. The head sense had my 5yr old kid in his office alone with the door shut-saying he was testing him-bit it was highly inappropriate. They also make you sign a contract right away so even if its not for you, your held in a contract! There. All. About. $$.

The owner does very well keeping the attention of many energetic kids. The kids have fun while learning to defend themselves and burning off some energy in a healthy manner.

We have 8 kids and are oldest got his black belt 22 years ago and now are two younest are taking karate. We love super t karte it is more then just karate. He teaches them repect, honesty, confidence, focus . My adhd kid can sit still in class never tought i would see that.

My 5 year old daughter and 7 year old son started around 4 months ago. I could instantly see a difference in there behavior. My kids found something they like to learn and needed more. The instructors make it very fun for the kids. They go out of there way to set the kids up for success. My kids are more confident than ever. They work together at home more. Also I like the idea that they will be able to handle themselves. Both physically from the training, and mentally from how much the instructors Explain and go one on one with the kids to make sure it’s understood. I would recommend super T karate to anyone...TAAA!

My daughter has been a student at Super T Karate for a little under a year now and I can honestly say it has helped her in many ways! The instructors are amazing and really care about the kids succeeding, not only in karate but in life as well. I really enjoy the mat talks that Master Terry does with the kids.

Super T has been an absolutely wonderful experience for my child. I highly recommend Super T Karate. My son has been a member here for over 3 years now. He started when he was just 4. Its been so rewarding to watch him grow and mature. The confidence he has gained in himself and the focus and determination along with pride in his work is priceless. Update: Owner called back and did everything in his power to try to make things right. I am sure if this worked in our schedule, would be a great facility. We are just too far away and too busy.Very hard place to work with. I was hounded with calls, emails and texts asking if I had any questions. When I asked questions, the response was to go to website. I asked for earlier classes and also asked for the orientation to be at same time as first class. We are coming from Cedar Springs, easily a 45 minute drive. When we get there, find out what I asked had been completely disregarded and was there for 5 minute orientation and asked to come back later that night.

Our girls have been attending for a few years.. class at Super T has been a great benefit to their fitness, confidence, and focus. After watching all the benefits they have enjoyed, Ive recently joined as well. Great instruction. Kid Friendly. Solid values. Highly recommended!

I have studied martial arts for over 35 years and worked with the best of the best oil a multitude of styles. Master Terry Gay is the real deal. My 4 year old son has matured and developed immensely during the few months that we have been attending classes. I honestly can’t believe how well-behaved he is during class. The instructors are patient and supportive. We will keep my son in classes for years to come!

Super T Karate is the best thing we could have ever done with our kids. My children have grown in so many areas in their development because of what has been taught at this school. They have used many of the techniques taught in class and have carried them over to many other areas such as school, home and sports. I highly recommend Super T Karate. Ive been a student for more than 10 years. The classes are challenging and the curriculum changes often so I am never bored. Master Terry keeps me motivated and interested. In addition to learning martial arts and self defense, I feel great! I also think that his young students benefit in so many ways. Super T Karate is a great school!

Excellent martial arts program. We were not sure if 4.5 years old was too young to start karate, but a couple of years later our child is still in the program, making progress and loving it. The instruction time is great and the facilities are beautiful. We definitely recommend this karate school to everyone.

My son Jack started at super t right after his 5th birthday. The senseis did amazing with the younger kids! They were able to keep the focus and teach the group (with some 1 on 1 with the kids that need it) and kept it fun. They do a great job of rewarding the kids after a great class with electrical tape stripes on their belt. My son has grown to LOVE this form of positive reinforcement and gets SO excited when he gets a stripe! In the almost 10 months hes been doing karate he is on his 3rd belt. This investment is totally worth the confidence it has helped create in my son along with a fun bi-weekly hobby he enjoys.

We are new to martial arts; our son is in his second month of classes at Super T. Master Terry and the leadership team are effective teachers, patiently providing hands-on instruction while instilling respect and confidence in the students. We love the program for our son, and how it provides both physical training and mental training. And he loves the program for the fun, skills and motivation to work hard.

Impossible to leave. Plan on paying a lot more than expected.First off, I should have been suspicious since theres no prices listed on his website and when I originally asked about them, he was evasive. Hell tempt you with whatever special hes shilling at the moment.My son attended for the duration of the school year but was scheduled to be out of town all summer, so we told Terry wed like to stop payments while he was gone. We were told that they usually dont do that and hed give private lessons when my son returned.With the other activities on his schedule, my son doesnt have time for additional lessons, nor is their anything holding Terry to his promise of said lessons. A week after our original conversation, I sent him an email asking not to charge us for the months of July or August and my son would be back in class in September. He said he wouldnt charge us for July.Sure enough, theres a charge on my card in August. I email him about it and waited 24 hours with no response. At that point, I told him I was withdrawing my son from his lessons. Less than 20 minutes later he replies with, ... no freeze options in the membership you guys where ok with that. That is an outright lie. If he had told me that in May I would have cancelled on the spot.An hour later I mailed him his required, certified letter to cancel our contract.Now, in September, theres another charge on my card.So far, Ive been charged for 2 months of unused services, along with June, where my son only attended for 2-3 lessons before leaving town for the summer. This is all on top of the 2-3 weeks per year he closes for holidays (and youre still charged for the full months) and the belt testing days which cost additional but are held on what would be regular lesson days.P.S. I dont recommend signing up, but if you do, you may as well add them to your spam filter. On average, I get 4-5 emails a week from them (sometimes 2 a day). With maybe one exception, theyre all trying to sell you something.

Super T Karate is a second home to my entire family. My husband, two daughters and myself have all been students for the past 2.5 years. We have grown physically, emotionally and mentally thanks to our training. I highly recommend Super T for anyone, young or old, because if you let it, it will transform you.

Super T Karate is an awesome Karate school. My son just got his junior belt bely in Karate their. Master Terry and his Senseis in my opinion are the best in the business. It has done my son wonders and I would definitely recommend this school to anyone wanting to learn self defense.

Have only been training here for a couple months, but I really enjoy it. I wanted to get exercise but also find a real world useful Martial Art. Krav Maga is the real deal that can be used in real life situations. Classes are fun, I get a great workout in and Im learning how to defend myself.Master Terry is Super!

My daughter has been attending Super T Karate for the past 3 years. The confidence, focus, and fitness taught in the school go well beyond the Dojo walls and help in everyday life. It is easily the best Karate school in the Grand Rapids area.

SKETCHY. SKETCHY. SKETCHY!Signed my son up this summer to take some karate classes. When I signed up, I explained that I would not be able to bring my son after a certain time because of other obligations. Terry said no problem and said that I needed to hand him (Terry) a letter with my cancellation 90 DAYS prior to my desired end date and it was EASY to cancel. That was fine because it fit in the time that I had and my son seemed to be enjoying the class. I went home and a few days later, sent him an email saying that 90 days from then I would be withdrawing my son from class. Did not get a response. So, I wrote a letter and took it to the next class. I handed him a letter with my cancellation, he didnt even look at it and said that I needed to send it to him (Terry) via Certified Mail. Since when was certified mail EASY? He went in the back and got out the contract that I signed. I do NOT remember reading anything about Certified Mail. It was strange that he went into the back and came out within seconds holding a copy of my contract.My son enjoyed classes for the next few weeks and finally no other kids were in his class. My son lost motivation to go to class. I tried to talk him into going back but didnt want to. This is fine because I had other obligations come up and it just wasnt a priority for our family.I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. 90 day cancellation through certified mail is absolutely ridiculous.

I will forever be grateful for Super T Karate Inc. Nothing but success stems from this program. The time and dedication that is put into the students is admirable. We are provided a family friendly emvironment to watch as well.My daughter has been attending for about two years. Over these past two years she has not only gained skills with Martial Arts, but life skills as well; including respect, socialization, participation, and focus. To top it off, my once uncoordinated, not flexible child can now do the splitz and kick at an almost 180° angle. Students are taught realistic defense mechanisms in a controlled manner that will have a parent gaining confidance for their child in the real world.Highly highly recommended.Thank you Master Terry!

I started training with Master Terry at Super T Karate in 1995. The sign over his school at the time read karate for the real world; thats exactly what I found when I started training, and he has never wavered from that principal since. I eventually went on to earn my 2nd degree black belt from master Terry, and has been one of my proudest achievements. In addition to my black belt in the super T system, I also just recently went through master Terrys concealed pistol license class. His approach to defensive weapons training, I was not surprised to find, was the same high-quality instruction I had always received in my martial arts training.I cannot recommend this instructor and this school enough. If you want to be part of a martial family, and train under an instructor who is absolutely dedicated to your personal improvement, then you can do no better than training with master Terry at Super T Karate.
