We like the small class size and the intro to academics that our two-year-old is receiving. His dad handles afternoon pick up, and our little guy does not want to leave until story time is finished in the afternoon. This is a far less institutional setting than our last day care and it is a good fit for our family.
Everyone should do their own research about daycares/preschools; especially academic based vs. play based. From personal experience, this place is mediocre at best. The turnover is quite high and the administration is very hands-off. You rarely see one of the owners in the classrooms. They usually stay in their offices. I have a huge problem with the lack of training a new teacher receives. This place is VERY academic focused. They believe it is appropriate for 2 and 3 year olds to be tracing letters and sitting still for long periods of time (while sitting criss cross applesauce--this is required). From my personal research and experience working with this age/population, these things are simply inappropriate.
