As a former 6-8 grade student at this school, Noble Academy, at the time known as Guilford Day School, was wholeheartedly one of the most miserable and, in retrospect, unprofessional experiences in my life. The hallmark of Noble Academy is that it is a school ‘for children with learning disabilities,’ but how exactly does it bifurcate in this way? The school boasts their small class sizes (indeed ave. 5-10 other kids per class block) so that your child gets more attention. The school says their teachers are specially trained to adapt and overcome the hindrances of a class of exclusively non-traditional learners. But let me clue you in on what they don’t advertise so hopefully they stop preying off of parents who just want the best for their children-The curriculum at Noble Academy, even by NC’s godforsaken standards, was consistently weak and unchallenging; the majority of children with learning disabilities are hyperactive and attention deficit, a smaller portion with auditorial disorders or functioning autism or what have you. But you are welcomed every day to the same topic your teacher has mulled over just about the entire year. So yes, your child might get an A, and their grades skyrocket, but only because they’re a one-trick pony; why care though when everyone’s happy! The students are rewarded for minimal effort, and the parents see improved grades. But, like a good realtor, you get them outta there before the el train passes- the English teacher swaps out and becomes a history teacher? I remember an entire class of 11-12 year olds saying amongst ourselves “jeez, are we ever gonna move past African history?” And we didn’t. Nothing of worthwhile preparation will be found here, I cross my heart, hope to die. My heart quakes at the thought of the haplessly hopeful parents who’ve spent upwards of $85,000 for a high school ‘diploma’ here. Then they’re up to their eyeballs come higher education playing catch-up and thinking they need more amphetamine salts, more discipline, whatever. It isn’t fair and is in actuality a predatory scam that the student inevitably picks up the bill for. Parents, please, of course you mean well and want the very best for your children. SAVE THAT MONEY FOR COLLEGE OR PUT THEM IN THE TECHNOLOGICALLY ADVANCED GREENSBORO DAY FOR HIGH SCHOOL (though that’s hardly a healthy alternative) GET YOUR MONEY’S WORTH!!!Next, and maybe most egregious: What is the actual vetting process for the teachers who do the real heavy lifting? What extra qualifications are required to get hired at a school that forefront’s acclimation for the atypical? My science teacher was 24 years old when I first started. Well, I am 24 years old now, and that terrifies me. All to say, be it anecdotally, I have never, at GboroDS, New Garden Friends, nor at Page High School, had a teacher raise their voice to an undeniable shout like would an incredibly tired and annoyed parent would call their own child’s name out. I have never been intentionally humiliated by an educator since. I have never been laughed at by a teacher alongside a large group of students in a ballgame tryout injury, only to be told, and I won’t forget it ol Ms. Erin, my daily science teacher of 3 years straight, “good...” when I say I quit in indignation and anger. This place is a fraud. There is nothing Noble to be found about this institution. From the head down, the administrators, the syllabi, the teachers (save a few who really knew how to crowd control somehow without being blatantly disrespectful to a child less than half their age, love you Jaren), the fiduciary management, the receptionist/nurse hybrid who sent me back to class with a 103° fever when I had the flu, the run-on sentence mission statement, the councilors who gossip about your most private personal details. It has left me quite indignant in all honesty. I had fun sometimes, but this is all just bad business with a warm southern belle face to greet you.

Noble was a blessing for my son. Hes thriving both academically and socially. Im so thankful we had Noble as an option within our community. I so appreciate the staff and how they teach to the child rather than to the masses. They are really teaching both content and skills to help the students be successful.

Weve been at Noble 3 years and love it!! The staff will do whatever it takes to help your child succeed. Highly recommend!Update, we are currently in our 5th year at Noble. The last two years in the middle school have been terrible. I have heard the high school is better but were not waiting to find out. Our family is looking at different options from here on out.

Noble Academy has made a tremendously positive change in my sons life as well as the entire family. The small classes as well as the individual attention provide by the well qualified teachers has made my son into a much happier self confident young man. Family life has become far less stressful due to the extra help he has received as well as the friends he has made at Noble. The school offers a full high school experience with the added benefit of a smaller, more caring environment.

My daughter is entering her 7th year at Noble Academy. Its hard to believe she started as a 3rd grader and is now entering high school there!! We have been very pleased with her academic progress, her maturity and ability to self-advocate, her willingness to try to take on leadership roles and her positive outlook on her learning differences, and what they mean for her future. Ive been very pleased with the communication teachers and administration have had with me if we ever had question or concern, but most importantly that my daughter feels safe and empowered enough to reach out to them first! We are looking forward to the next four years and seeing our daughter grow academically and socially - we know that Noble Academy is the right school for her!

Noble Academy is a wonderful school for kids with learning differences. My son is learning, making friends, and has a lot more self-confidence. He has a new outlook on life, and is more positive about his future. I highly recommend it.

Noble Academy was a nightmare for me. Whenever I told authorities I was being bullied they said it was my fault and I shouldnt retaliate when I was actually trying to stick up for myself. But the funny part is whenever a student had a false complaint about me I got punished and my side didnt get to be heard. Being at Noble I developed anorexia, depression, and my anxiety increased. Academically I learned some good skills and the teachers and coaches are perfect but the higher authorities are a joke and will allow a child to be abused.

Noble Academy and its teachers/staff have been a blessing for our family. I was quite concerned with my sons transition to a new state and school and whether his academics would suffer during these life changes. Noble Academy has provided my son with the stability he needed as we settle into our new lives. In fact, he had an unbelievable first year at the school. The schools individual learning program focused on the needs of my son and helped him build confidence to believe in himself. This 2nd year at Noble and entering 6th grade is an exciting one. He had no anxiety of starting school and was in fact looking forward to it. We are so glad that we made the decision and chose Noble Academy for our son.

Small class size, flexible grouping, individualized instruction, and caring individuals are what makes Noble Academy a great fit for my son. He is thriving in an environment where his needs are being addressed, while his strengths are also acknowledged and celebrated.
