Im getting back into playing sax, and am renting a Tenor to see how it goes. Ive known Laura Red for many years through the Chamber of Commerce. Shes active in the community and creates innovative programs to further arts training. She was officially closed today, but she knew how excited I was to get started. She offered to meet me last night after dinner, but that was too much. Opening for me at 11am today was above expectations enough. Im grateful for business people with a passion for what they do, like Laura.

The Music Loft has been a great place to work! I have been teaching here for about 5 years. The owner, Laura, makes everyone feel like theyre family, and brings energy to the atmosphere. The staff are thorough and helpful. The teachers are specialists in their field. Both locations have comfortable, family-friendly places to wait during lessons.

The Music Loft has been a great place to work. Ive been teaching with them for about a year now and its very rare to find such a wonderful business that not only cares for their customers, but also their contracted employees. Most other similar institutes will either promise you a ton of students and end up getting you zero, or will force you to teach cookie cutter techniques from their books. The Music Loft is relaxed, doesnt micromanage you, and lets you teach your students how you see fit.

My three children have taken violin lessons at The Music Loft for two years. This past year they added a new Master Class program. Each semester now has 7 private lessons and 1 Master Class. This is such an amazing opportunity for young children to be exposed to a group lesson taught by a talented musician, to help engage and further cultivate a love for music. Private lessons offer the most individualized instruction, but learning to play in a group and be exposed to different teaching styles and techniques is invaluable. I cant imagine going anywhere else for lessons! Having a studio experience with such talented teachers and offerings outweighs anything else weve looked at in the area. The staff is wonderful and will work with you to find the best schedule and teacher for you. I have three children and only have to go for one thirty minute lesson because I can have each child with a different teacher at the same time! If you are interested definitely check out the Master Class!

I could not be more impressed with The Music Loft. My 9 year old daughter started taking piano lessons over the summer of 2013. We continued into the fall. The staff is extremely enthusiastic about music and the studio space is warm and inviting. The best and most unique part about lessons at The Music Loft are their Master Classes. Their lessons are broken down into 8 week sessions that feature 7 weeks of private lessons and 1 week of Master Classes. The students can chose as many of the Master Classes as they like. My 9 year old learned to Be In a Band in 90 minutes! I also sat in on a songwriting class that was incredible. The Music Loft has a way of making students excited about music and broadening their exposure beyond the one instrument they are learning. I highly recommend it.

My son has been taking lessons at the Music Loft (violin) since September of 2014. Laura (the owner) and each of the two music teachers he has had (Beth and Carolyn) have been fantastic. Great to work with on the business end, and really kind, patient people on the lesson end. My son looks forward to each weeks lesson, and is even going to take lessons over the summer to keep his musical chops flexible!!

The ladies that own Music Loft go out of their way to make sure you get you moneys worth. My son wasnt enjoying his guitar lessons so they flipped him to a new teacher and things improved immediately.Classes are on a semester system which is unique. You get seven weeks of regular lessons and on the eighth week you get a 90 minute masters class.

I wish there had been a Music Loft and Camp Jam when I was starting out in Middle and High School. Laura does a great job. Her kids opened for my band The Merchants of Cool at Chantilly Day 2012 and rocked the house.

We absolutely love the Music Loft. We are so fortunate to have this wonderful place of music in Herndon. Our children have grown as musicians and continually enjoy all they learn from their wonderful teachers. It is truly the very best place to take music lessons.

Ive never had professional vocal training before. I decided to take classes at The Music Loft to improve my vocal ability for singing and for work since Im always training customers. I highly recommend Andrew Goldstein, he is an amazing instructor - I learned so much from him. He finds your strengths but also works on your weaknesses to expand your vocal range. His professionalism and expertise is greatly appreciated. I learned a lot about how my body is an instrument and how to use the tools within to make me a better vocalist. Im usually sent on unexpected business trips, and The Music Loft staff were always prompt in their responses and flexible with my schedule.

Great music studio! I love the fact that the teachers are actual teachers, not some kid trying to make money on the side while hoping to make it in the music world. My son really clicks with his instructor, and she really seems to get him.

The Music Loft has instilled a love of instrument playing in my daughter for the past two years, and this fall she is starting her second instrument. The instructors and staff are dedicated music professionals who work well with all ages and differentiate their instruction to meet the needs of their students. The lesson rooms are well designed, and allow parents to know their children are being taught in a positive and encouraging environment. The parent waiting area is welcoming and clean letting the parent wait in comfort during their childs lesson. It is worth the drive from Loudoun County and even paying the fees of the Dulles Greenway to receive the best music instruction for my daughter. I highly recommend The Music Loft to anyone who wants their child or self to receive the best music education in the area!

I am writing from the perspective of a professional musician with many years of teaching experience. Last January, I joined the faculty of The Music Loft at both locations, Herndon and Ashburn. I love teaching here! At the time, I was also teaching at two other local music schools, but I recently decided to teach exclusively at The Music Loft because I believe in the educational values and approach.A few ways that The Music Loft stands out:1) It is very family friendly, which is in the best interest of the student. Parents are welcome to relax in the comfortable waiting room, which allows the opportunity for excellent communication with the teacher about the progress of the student, and what to focus on at home. Parents hear first-hand about breakthroughs and accomplishments of their young musicians. There are also toys and books to keep younger siblings entertained. Parking is ample, so there is no struggle to find a space. As a parent myself, I think that this is much less stressful than simply dropping off a child for 30 minutes.2) The Master Classes, unlimited elective classes every 8 weeks, provide the students with new kinds of music education experiences in a group setting. Students also become acquainted with the schools other instructors. I appreciate the chance to create classes on a variety of topics. We also have some master classes for adults!3) The faculty is diverse, both in style (classical training as well as rock, jazz, etc.) and age. Some of us are fresh out of school; some choose to teach over other kinds of work because they love it; some of us have extensive experience in teaching and performing. There is enough variety so that students can find the type of teacher that can help them reach their educational goals. Or, if they start on one instrument, but prefer to switch to another, they can continue studying at The Music Loft.4) The Music Loft is for everyone! Instruction is offered for the youngest beginner (usually around 5, if the student seems to be interested and ready) through adults who might be first-time learners or returning to music study after a long hiatus. I appreciate the variety of ages and levels of ability in my students.5) The Music Loft also does instrument rentals and also stocks some instructional materials, both of which are a great convenience for families.Come in for a *free* trial lesson or two and meet us in person!

This is an enterprise that does not respect your time or money. Here is my experience. They cancelled the master class in Ashburn with barely two days of notice and expected the students enrolled in Ashburn to take the master classes in Herndon. They refused to schedule a regular class or refund for students unable to take the master class in Herndon scheduled mostly at 4:30 p.m. Upon exchanging several email and finally on a phone call, Ms Leanne kept on harping Its not our policy to refund. If you cannot take the class in Herndon thats up to you. Pathetic customer service, total lack of respect for peoples time and greedy business sense. I would have given zero stars if possible.

I love the Music Loft! I have grown significantly as a violinist thanks to Laura Readyoff and all of the teachers at TML. I am so grateful for all of the opportunities that I have been offered there.
