So unhappy with this school now. I have had a 2 other children go through this school over time and now I am on my 3rd. Very disappointing to see what the new leadership at this school has brought it down to. No community pride within the school and it reflects. Lots of activities cut or just simply boring for the students. My current child is somewhat on the spectrum of a different type of learner and it is a struggle to get help. I do not blame the teachers, but WOW... you can see morale is taking a toll on them. You can also tell that there is now the absence of parent participation. As a parent, I do not get a strong sense from the principal that parent participation is welcomed. My child and friends always joke that this is more like a daytime care center for children and that they really do not get a feeling of being welcomed or active in the school. As a parent it is supper frustrating when I speak with parents who have schools in other districts and I hear all about what different schools are doing to get community and students engaged and the sad thing is I now see this type of NON caring attitude at the high school level as well. It is no coincidence that the ratings, scores dropped in the last couple of years after the new guy was hired.

Ranch View is an incredible school with many amazing and supportive teachers. I personally know most are the kids that wrote all of this reviews and I know that all those kids that say they dont learn anything are the kids that dont try and could care less about school. They are the kids that sit in the corner of classroom sleeping or talking to friends. Here at Ranch View the teachers care about the kids sooo much and they try their best to help those types of kids but those kids are mean and disrespectful to even care and then they go and write mean reviews like that. Everyone has to go to school and these kids dont realize how good they have it.

Teachers are good and nice, however the boys are mean girls and clicky. Boys are way worse than the girls! Parents are not involved at all, nor do they teach their kids about life skills and how to treat others. Myself as a parent am blown away. Its not the school that is bad! The teachers are wonderful! It is the community and parents that are allowing their kids to act like brats in this area! And it isnt even the rich kids as they call it! The kids with the more $ are the kind ones, from my experience. It is the kids that think they are. As I call them, the wannabes. The parents are trying to keep up with the Joneses so much that they dont teach their kids about respect for those around them!

This school is pathetic. The teachers pick favorites and let any kid that acts out get away with murder. They don’t give any effective punishment towards kids that act out. At the expense of the kids that do the right thing, they’re punished for doing one little thing wrong. One kid could scream an expletive and have nothing happen to them, while another kid will be punished for glancing at their phone for one second. Teachers preach about rules but never enforce them. Because of this, any “bullies” just get worse. They’ve cut many extracurricular actives. For example, this year almost the entire music program was completely cut. One of the ThunderRidge teachers is now doing the job of two people and a part time teacher is in charge of the downsized choir. As one of the other reviews said, I too witnessed the principal flirting with eighth grade girls. The Ranch View Administration preaches about having high morals and mutual respect, but in the end shows no respect for the students or parents. In short, if you have a good kid, consider sending them elsewhere.

I rate this school as a 3 star! One thing is the core class teachers cant really educate robustly. I feel like the one I struggle in is math. I feel like having all the rubrics and criterias is just a mess, there can be some improvement in that area. At least there is some more freedom in the school but not with your phones, social life and being able to go to the bathroom when you want to. We are still kids and we want to be successful. So I feel like giving kids more freedom will engage them more on learning a focus. So in order to have Engaged Learning you need to have ENGAGED STUDENTS, so to have a social life I think will improve that. Another problem is the way teachers treat us. One class teacher called their class disabled and and other teacher called them stupid that s how we lack out motivation! This school needs more motivation. This is RANCH VIEW! This school can be okay sometimes. I’m in 8 grey our social studies teacher is probably going to get fired you should know why. Our teachers pick favorites and it’s almost the end of the year and we hardly understand anything. This school should get help it really needs it.

This school is pretty good. The 8 tundra teachers and the French teacher are the best ive ever had. They have fun and buy stuff for the students. The only terrible teacher i have had this year was the long sub for math. One of the biggest problem are lack of funding and some of the students (as you can see by the other comments). This comment will most likely be down voted to the bottom.

The rich kids in the area who go to the school are bratty and annoying. Overall the teachers are nice but sometimes there is poor staffing decisions. The homework isnt efficient for learning and a lot of the gym games are toned down or replaced with sports. I would suggest staying away from this school. Some of the kids are nice but the mean ones are horrible.

The only reason I’m giving this terrible school two stars is because the 8th grey teachers are awesome and so is Mrs. Yuhas. There is so much labeling going on and a lot of bullying. The students all act so entitled and the adults don’t really do anything. I can not wait till we go to Thunder Ridge.

Tbh, this school is not very good. Most of the teachers are not very good. The only execption is Mr. May and Mr. Bull. They made me survive through middle school. They are amazing and the only reason this gets two stars.

I feel so bad for all the hard working teachers at ranch view who have had these hurtful comments made towards them, they are truly the kindest teachers I have ever had. They dont deserve what has been said to them. The ones who wrote those harmful messages have no regard for others feelings. I am so grateful for my teachers because they have made this year one I want to remember. They sacrifice their time, their own money, and pretty much everything they have to give the kids here at ranch view the best learning experience possible. Mrs. Hodges is the kindest teacher you will ever meet and constantly strives to create the best learning environment she can even when students are disrespectful to her and destroy the supplies she has used her own money to buy. She cares about all of her students and always has a smile on her face. Mrs. Rhinehart is truly an angel. She constantly buys treats for us and helps us any way she can. She knows so much and always knows the answers to any of our questions. Mrs. Naughton is the funnest science teacher on this planet!! She has prepared us for high school so well and is always finding ways to help us learn different ways. My favorite thing about her class is almost all the learning is hands on. Mr. Bull has taught us many life lessons I will continue to use for the rest of my life. At the start of this year I despised reading and writing, but Mr. Bull has taught me that there are many ways to write rather than just telling what happens. Through poetry, imagery, and sensory detail, I have seen my stories come to life. Last but not least of my main teachers is Mrs. Maggiore. No one know how she has made health fun. She tells the funniest stories and even made learning about the body bearable by creating a safe environment. Thank you so much Ranch View!!!!!!!!!!!

Very Good SchoolHad 3 kids attend Ranch View. Middle School is a tough time for teens but all had the resources available from the school if they needed any help.

Overall, Ranch View is an amazing school! Im in 7th grade and we started about a month ago. I was nervous at first, but I was totally wrong! All the teachers and staff are great! Ive made so mny new friends and ll the elective choices are outstanding! its way better than I though my middle school experience would be!

Some kids are cool, but half of them are flat out goons. Mr. Bull is the best teacher because he is nice but he also is good at teaching. Same with Mrs. Naughton, she also cares. Ranch View wants you to act like High Schoolers but they treat you like your in 2nd grade. Overall solid.

I love a few of the teachers but other than that its a pretty bad school. Almost every student is rude and a complete jerk to everyone, the teachers take punishments too far and one of the teachers is a total pervert :(

The reason I give this only one star is because this school sucks. Let me explain. The students here are mean, rude, and over all bad people. This is coming from personal experience. They are loud, obnoxious, rude, disrespectful, not open minded, and druggies(I have met people who do drugs). One of the substitutes this year, Mr. Harvey, was a long term substitute. He was gave everyone in each classroom nicknames, as he never bothered to learn our actual names, flirted with the girls and wouldnt leave them alone, and not good at his job. The average test grade before he came was a 5, but after he came, the average was a 3. And, when the original teacher came back, the room was so messy and things were missing, because the students messed up the room and took things, and he never bothered to look at all of the things gone wrong. Another substitute, he was only here for a day, was so unobservant that he didnt notice a kid getting bullied in class. This kid was me. Two of the other students, Sophie(cant remember her last name) and Caleb Sporer wouldnt leave me and two other friends alone. This sub only noticed at the end of class when I was having a mental break down. Then, this teacher had the nerve to give a bad review, swearing never to teach at this school again. We students tried to explain, but the teachers still blamed it on us.The only good few things about this school are the people I have met, trusted, and became friends with, 8 Tundra LA teacher, Mr. Bull, 8 Tundra Social Studies teacher, Mrs. Rhinehart, and Mrs. Yuhas, the only school counselor who seems to care.I would not reccomend this school to anyone who doesnt want to come home in tears.One star review from,Evelyn Chernoff. How is it when I listen to earrape I get my phone taken away but when kids juul in class they dont get in trouble? Im pretty sure everyone in this school has a heroin problem. Or HIV. The school is in a very rough community, a lot of the drugs and gang violence are brought into the school. When I went here I noticed that the tension in the classroom intimidated the teachers to the point that instead of teaching they just tried to stay out of the way during class. The school is also located right next to a federal prison. In the fourth quarter of my 8th grade year, I heard about a girl in 7th grade that was raped by an escaped inmate. I had to move here because both my parents were in the military. Fortunately, after my 8th grade year, we were relocated to Oakland, California where I had a much better experience in high school.

Excellent school if you take advantage of the opportunity with some great teachers, when I went here sometimes teachers would attack other staff members verbally touching on very personal things, disgusted me with how they could not put aside their differences and just work.
