Awesome principal who inspires his faculty and students to do their best. There are so many wonderful and new things going on.
I was a student there, 1941-1944. My father (A Navy civil engineer civilian given a field promotion to Lt jg in 1942) was transferred stateside in 1944 and we came with him on a Navy transport. In California I was a year ahead by grade level! The schools were at least partially segregated (English standard and something else) at that time. Very competent teachers and competitive students - I remember Japanese-Americans, a Cherokee, and others. There was a Schoolboy Patrol under the direction of a police officer that stopped traffic on the adjacent main street. I have a BSc degree from Caltech, and one of my licenses is for traffic engineering.
