Owner is off her rocker. DO NOT LET YOUR CHILD ATTEND THIS PLACE WHERE THEY THINK THEY ARE BETTER THAN YOU. OWNERS TEMPER TANTRUMS AND MELTDOWNS AND MEGOLOMANIAC PERSONA IS JUST A COUPLE REASONS TO AVOID THIS SCHOOL.

This preschool is awesome! The teachers and staff are incredible and truly invested in your kids. I absolutely love their montessori model. It’s a very warm environment. They also don’t have the drama of some childcare centers. They tell you important things but they don’t overburden you with too much of the “your kid is not doing this or that or this kid hit this kid.” I have many friends and colleagues with kids who also attend and everyone has been very pleased over many years. It is close to the med center so also very convenient for health care providers!

During the Covid crisis the school responded with excellency. They made sure all of their teachers and staff were paid, and pulled miracles to keep the school open. They gave parents multiple options, including not paying any tuition, and yet still kept operations going. Truly amazed and filled with gratitude.

Southampton Montessori has been a godsend for our family since we started sending our oldest about 2.5 years ago. In this uncertain time of pandemic, they have gone above and beyond. My gratitude for them and the way they’ve adapted in this crisis and served so many families (mine very much included) knows no bounds. Here are a few reasons why:1. This place makes me feel like my kids go to school in Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood. From the kindness of the teachers to their patience with the children who attend, everything about this school makes me feel proud, happy and safe every morning when I drop my kids off. I’ve called my husband more than once from the parking lot and said “I really can’t believe we get to send our kids here. We’re so lucky.”2. They have been beyond accommodating during this crisis. They have made it possible for parents like me to resume working again while our kids are in a nurturing environment. They have done absolutely everything they can to show up for our families and keep our kids healthy. For some perspective, our 17-month-old hasn’t had so much as the sniffles since they reopened post lockdown. Everything is clean and sanitized and the teachers wear masks. I feel great about their policies and procedures during this time.3. They’re always on the ball when it comes to parent communication. They call me whenever my kid slips and gets an owie on the playground, and they have regular parent teacher conferences that are super in-detail and informative.4. They serve nutritious meals and yummy snacks that my kids love. Sometimes when I have to keep them at home for whatever reason, I think “I hope I’ll be able to make something they eat like they eat up their food at school!”5. Most importantly, both of my kids have been SO HAPPY here. My kids love their friends, teachers and all of the fun, exciting things they get to do every day. As a parent, there is no greater gift.

Avoid like the plague. Their priority is not your child, they run this school like a business. We had one kid go to after-school here for a year, and had no problems. Our second kid went to daycare, and we saw firsthand how the school is truly run. In the end it was a blessing in disguise, as our child ended up in a much better environment.

Horrible management, penny pinchers, elitist mindset and inconsiderate. Our kid went to Southampton for 2 years, we kept her there and tolerated the management because she had developed a close friend circle that we didnt want to disrupt. Come COVID, this management revealed how unscrupulous they are. They blatantly profited of the backs of parents in deplorable ways. The crisis could not have been mishandled by them any more. They did not require teachers to wear masks which eventually led to a COVID outbreak in the school. Following which, they did not share the information with all parents. When inquired why, they had the temerity to say - they didnt think it was relevant and that the Health Department does not require them to do so.We are connected with many other parents and many of us have disenrolled our kids. We dont plan to return our kids back there. We even considered a joint lawsuits for all the mishandling and profiteering by the school. There is much more to share but will stop here. My advice is stay away like the plague, as one of the other reviewers said below.

This school oozes cozy and the teachers are amazing. Front office staff knows all the kids names too as do the maintenance staff. The classroom sizes work for Montessori. We’ve been here for 3 years & cannot imagine leaving. It feels like family everywhere.

I cant say enough about Southampton. My daughter has been there for three years and is about to graduate kindergarten. She LOVES being at school. Miss Shannon and the Room 9 assistants very clearly love their work and the children, and they work hard at keeping them engaged and making learning fun. I had planned to leave after pre-K and enroll my daughter in a public magnet school for Kindergarten, like most do, but I made a last-minute decision to keep her at Southampton for Kindergarten. Im so glad I did. She had really blossomed this past year and is a leader in the classroom, mentoring the younger children and taking them under her wing. The Kindergarten year in Montessori is really a formative one, and Ive loved seeing her confidence build.

Staffs are unfriendly and unhelpful. The classrooms are way over crowded which does NOT facilitate good learning experience! Children have to practically fight for teachers attention. There are quite a few times when I walked by the classrooms I saw chaos inside and the teachers are just standing to the side watch and chat! I dont blame the teachers because what can they do with a room of 30 kids!! Its a management issue!

We love this school. 2 kids so far and 3rd one now far behind. Especially Miss Shannons room 9. Keep up the great work.

I had the displeasure of sitting near the owners of this school on a flight into Las Vegas recently. The trip was spent lamenting her snobbish comments made of the other passengers, myself included. Even more so rude and short with demands directed to the flight attendants... all the while apparently assuming no one could hear her under the breath comments. She had some quip about everything other passengers said anytime she could break free of using the in flight wifi to watch the schools cameras like a control freak. Newsflash to any employees wondering, those cameras are watched constantly, youre not trusted! If you really want to know what the administration is like sit near them on an economy flight and listen to them act better than the peasants around them.
