I honestly do not recommend this school. The reason i say this is because it drains you mentally. Yes, this school mentally prepares you for the world and college, but youre literally stuck with the same people every year. Theyre also really dramatic about everything which i dont see the reason why. Unless you want to be stressed everyday, dread everything about life, limit yourself socially, get in trouble for everything, and have loads of homework then go. Anyways, its up to you. Just be sure and be mentally and physically prepared for the worst school experience ever:)

I am a YES Prep Southwest Alumni. I can not say that I was fully satisfied with what I got from this school. Academically, I was more than prepared for, for college. My complaint with this school are the following: socially, I did not succeed in college. Because the school is so small and restricted to new students I was not able to expand or exercise my social capability. I was with the same 60 people for 7 years. Not only that, while I was at YES, I suffered several difficulties with my life at home, the school claims to be supportive of the student, but I never got the support I needed. The counselor was garbage, she even made a Suicide Seminar for my whole grade level at the time, when my school never ever had one of those in its history, I would know because I was the 3rd graduating class of that campus, and I was well aware of the things that happen with the upper two grade levels. My complaint with this matter was that at the time, I was released from the mental institution for that exact reason. I had several instances where I was harassed by male students for my physical appearance in a sexual manner, and I complained to the director of the school, and all I got was a written letter from the students of apology, and they had no other consequence. This school may seem all that great because of the illusion that they brain wash you with that 100% go to college, which is true, but why would I want to go to college with a messed up history like that, where all they do is feed you with lies. I know other schools may be worse, but at least the public school wont promise you that they will support you regardless. When you go to public school, you expect to make it out on your own, when you go to YES expect the same. This school is not special. Its like any other regular school + field trips. FYI: not worth all the psychological warfare.
