I went to this school in the mid to late 70s and I have to say that some of my best childhood memories were made at this school. Shout out to Mrs. Eason, Coach Taylor, Mrs. Mack and Mrs. Ray. Before White Flight there was a great mix of students and I lost so many friends because of it. I will always be a Benbrook Bear and remember the times before any temp buildings in the front, covered stairs in the front or back or even the jungle gym in the front. Im glad my two sisters and I went to this school.

I wish I could move back to this side of town and have my youngest go here. its a great school!

In benbrook elementary My past as little girl is worst everyone so against me . No one is in my side until I made one friend but it didnt last long anyway. Every teachers who would use a ruler to hit my hand a lot and other student used pin or some kind sharp similar like paperclip to poke my hand! It hurt really badly I couldnt able speak english really good not even one word until in 5th grade.

My daughter didnt like this school at first. Now she is happy with the teachings and staff. Principal is new and kinda loud.lol

This school is extremely disorganized. NO PARKING for parents, but parents of kindergarten and Pre-K students must come in and pick up from the classroom. There is no drop off zone for other kids. The unorganized manner of it all makes it take over 30 minutes to drop my son off and get back home in a car and I literally live around the corner and a few houses down from the school. If they would simply direct traffic to the parking lot so parents could drop kids off on school property and turn around to pull out (as in a circle) there would be less traffic congestion and an organized manner for drop off. Instead there is nothing and they deny parents access to the parking lot and prefer to have a police officer ticket you if you park on the side of the street and then try to turn around to go back the way you came. Shame on them.If you dont speak Spanish you will never know anything that is going on. The school seems to only print things in Spanish and only puts notifications on the board outside in Spanish. If you have any other option for school for your child then go that route. I have found the staff to be rude and again if you dont speak Spanish, they arent very helpful.The school is EXTREMELY overcrowded. My son has the library for a classroom. It leaves me wondering, does his class constantly get interrupted by other classes coming to use the library OR is the rest of the school denied library time because there is a class occupying it for a classroom. Either situation is unacceptable. But this is HISD , I wish I would have checked before we moved here. I assumed we were still in in Spring Branch ISD. Oh and by the way,... NO Pre-K IF YOU SPEAK ENGLISH. SMH.. THIS SCHOOL IS ABSURD.

I went here for my kinder years to 3rd grade and were the best years of my life.

Does anyone here remember Mrs. Polhemus?? She was the principal. I was in 4th grade in Cecil Whitings class. This guy was so lazy. He never taught us anything. He assigned a bunch of busy work, then made us grade our own papers. I ended up making straight As of course because of this.

As new in the US i choosed to put my daughter to this school shes on pre-k and i see alot of change on her behaviors that make me feel so happy since i thought itll be hard for her to get used to this she loves it she loves her teacher (Ms.Linn) and her new friends in class. Thank you for all the support and love that you give to my daughter :*

Love it I used to come to this school but I moved it was the best school ever

I loved it because 5th grader I was one last year and I love it I had fun there when school started I was scared but I found out my friend was there named Joshua then he left the school and at the end of the school year it was sad we had to say are good byes to every one and every one started crying even I did and so did some of the teachers and now my little brother and sister are going to go to that school next year or this year and the party that they made for the 5th graders was sad😢 and now Im going to visit the school every day when I have to pick up my sister and brother from the school and now Im happy 😉and I miss my friends but Im going to see them again because Im going to the school that they all are at cause Im moving back on that side and I wouldnt have made it this far if it wasnt because of my teachers missWhite,miss tiongo,miss Morris,miss.buitrogo,and my principal miss.Dardon and all the other teachers that helped me get this far so take you children to that school OK love that school ya🙋.

I dont like one of the teachers her name.is mrs buitrago they gave us disiplen log on monday if u do some thing bad the writhg it on ur disiplen log and she wrote on my dislipen log some bad and my did not sight it and she call my mom saying my mom can sight because she dosent live in the apt in front of the school but the principal mrs darden is a fun cool anwsome principal on she in 5 grade mrs buitrago but evry thing else is cool

Hate it In this school their bonuses are more important than the children When my child got sick they call me and ask if i could take him to school tht day because if one student is u absents they can get ther stupid bonuse
