Very few good teachers are left here. Most of them dont care. The work they give students doesnt help them learn. They just give school work and dont teach. Except for very few. Law enforcement related classes and activities are good though. They are fun, interactive, and actually teach students things. The school finessed students in many ways. The school doesnt let students go outside for lunch so students are forced to eat the nasty school lunch unless they have money to buy from the snack line. Iced coffee is basically 75% ice and 25% coffee. Bus schedules suck. Uniforms standards are so unnecessary. They dont even have a baseball or football team. Basketball team only plays 1 game in the whole school year and it is during Christmas. Soccer team experience is fun but the team isnt good. Senior activities arent as great as other high schools. They asked my class (Class of 2020) to raise $20,000 for prom even though prom does not cost that much money for the size of the senior class. The senior class every year is mostly 100 students total. I did not chip in anything because I was not going to get finessed. Glad I went to another high school for my senior year. Overall, high school experience is alright but boring. Go to another high school unless you want to have a boring high school experience. It is not necessary to go here if you want to have a career in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice.

Awesome school, lots of hands on experience. With different careers, like Law enforcement, Legal studies, and Government. Also, it is a small school , and very friendly.

Academics when I went there were run by a bunch of incompetent people and the people there for the most part were just awful. I really hope this school bounces back. I hope the new leadership revives academic achievement and gives the children discipline for the future.

Its a good school , very clean and organized, no fights, no kids running and pushing others. Some teachers need to learn to listen the kids too.

HISD needs to cut the No Child Left Behind act and actually teach students so theyre not stuck in the real world. This school had plenty of caring teachers but they have all left due to carelessness of the school board. Students were inspired to learn but now, not sure. there is still a good environment to study in though.

As a former student, I dont recommend this high school. The school has a lot of potencial but it’s unfortunately managed by a lazy and irresponsable staff especially the principal. Many activities brought up by students to raised money were turned down because of the amount of paperwork the staff would have to do, which is what they get paid to do, not just to sit around. They used to have amazing teachers that would inspire student, but some are no longer there and now there is only a few. However, if you really enjoy law enforcement, thinking of becoming a firefighter, going into the legal field, or dispatcher, this school might be for you.

My son just finished 10th grade. I am really not sure what the heck the school was thinking handing out laptops WITHOUT any restrictions whatsoever. Not a good thing when we, as parents, are trying to teach right from wrong to a teenager in this day and age.The office staff was very good at restricting my ex trying to take my son out of the school when he wasnt supposed to.
