Houston jujutsu and kickboxing is a phenomenal place to train. The head Sensei, Patrick Price, has over 30 years of varied experience ranging from grappling, weaponry, judo and jujutsu to name only a few. He has a varied and multicultural group of students and instructors. There is something for everyone. I have personally been training with Dr. Price for over 4 years and if I lived anywhere close to Houston, he is who I would choose for my entire families martial arts training. The Houston Jujutsu Academy is a fantastic school to learn and experience Martial Arts. The school has fundamentals in Japanese Jujutsu but Shihan Price teaches so much more including boxing, kickboxing, CSW, ground techniques and other forms of Martial Arts. After each class, you feel like youve had a great workout, youve learned something ( that could save your life ) and its never boring!

Often times when were training, Shihan Price will say, Remember when you were 15 and you could do such and such? Well, no, I dont… You see, Im not big, or strong, or fast, or very athletic at all. Im not a natural Martial Artist by any means, and when I first started at HJA, standing on one foot was far more challenging than Id like to admit. Even so, and although I began training far past the age of 30, under the infinite wisdom, patience, and guidance of Shihan Price, I am challenged every day, and amazingly, I find myself accomplishing things in the dojo that I couldnt do, even at the age of 15.

I had looked at several dojos around Houston after relocating from Atlanta, and am glad I found Houston Jujutsu Academy. One of the things that attracted me most to the dojo is that Shihan Price does this for his love of the art, not for the money, and I truly admire that, and I believe it helps in learning martial arts. In addition Shihan Price also teaches several other useful forms, not just jujutsu.Also, if youre looking not only to learn a life skill but get a workout, this is the dojo for you.
