We hosted two international students attending the school last year. We found the teachers, administration, and staff to be capable, efficient, and friendly. The teachers really care about each student they teach. The staff really try to create a family-oriented atmosphere and involve the parents as much as possible. The international department especially are dedicated to the students in their department. Our students were on the basketball team, and they had a wonderful experience.

Clear Lake Christian School has been such a blessing to my boys! They are surrounded by teachers and administrators who truly have a heart for the next generation. Although the school is continually growing, we are still able to enjoy a close knit atmosphere. Each student receives a great deal of focused care and attention that I believe would be difficult to obtain in most public school settings. There is a great focus on excellence at CLCS in every area and I absolutely value the well rounded education my children receive here. We are looking forward to many more years at Clear Lake Christian School!

My child graduated from CLCS and received full scholarships and is now in graduate school. The academics combined with committed teachers allowed success on many levels. Social experiences from sports to humanities afforded a rounded experience in high school. International students added to multi cultural friendships in a world growing smaller due to technology. The caring administration from elementary through high school is committed to a standard of excellence recognizing each student as unique and valuable.

Clear Lake Christian School has been such a blessing to my son and I. I am a single Mom and my son has now been at CLCS for 4 years. He has grown so much academically and spiritually. I feel thankful while I am at work each day knowing that my son is surrounded by such wonderful and caring Christian role models.I would recommend CLCS to any parent looking to put their child in a positive and uplifting spiritual environment where the teachers and staff encourage them daily to become all that God wants them to be and to achieve their full potential.

This was a wonderful school - several years ago. Over the past few years the overall quality has plummeted, teacher turnover has soared, and the administration has begun lying to parents. There are virtually no entrance requirements any more - meaning that theyve started taking (and keeping) children rejected from public school. Bullying is rampant and almost totally ignored by the staff. Some of it could easily be classified as sexual harassment or even assault. Most teachers turn a blind eye to it - or in some cases actually participate! The administration stonewalls addressing it because theyve never heard of the problem. The interesting thing is that they have told *multiple* parents (each at different times) that this was the first theyve heard of the problem. The headmaster finally told us that theres nothing he can do to the primary bully except for assigning lunch detention because the bullys parents are friends with people in power at Grace Church (the owner of the school). The most severe reprimand given so far was to suspend one single friend of the primary bully for a day.For its part (besides protecting bullies) Grace Church has started trying to hijack student programs (e.g., the Spring program) for promotional purposes. When parents filled out the form denying consent, the administration threatened some of the students with their grades. When the lack of supervision got so bad that several parents started withdrawing their children, the administration lied to the parents about homeschooling. They tried to make the parents believe that it may be illegal for them to homeschool their children. With only 5 weeks left in the school year, they told at least one parent that if they withdrew their 6th grade child, that the child may have to repeat the grade. This is in addition to them continuing to charge tuition after the child was withdrawn. This is absolutely despicable behavior. The current administration is rotten to the core and has lost its way. It is weak, wholly ineffective, deceitful, and can no longer be trusted with our children. It is my prayer that the people responsible for running the school are replaced and that new management can turn things around.Until then, I *highly* recommend looking elsewhere for a Christian school.

My daughter completed her high school education at this school a few years ago. She is now in the process of getting a degree in biochemistry at Texas A&M University, and I must say that her education at Clear Lake Christian School has been severely disappointing. This school did not prepare her for a college education whatsoever. More specifically, this school seemed to completely disregard some of the fundamental concepts that are very important to science degrees. No plausible foundations were created at this school, and my daughter more than struggled to catch up with all that she missed at CLCS. It seems as though she had to completely relearn science. CLCS taught my daughter subjects based on biblical principles while completely leaving out all the things that I would consider normal in an education system. For example, my daughter had a lack of understanding in biological and chemical processes that the vast majority of other freshmen college students had been taught previously. While it is not bad to learn about the bible and to teach from the bible, school is meant to prepare individuals for the real world. Teaching solely from the bible creates severe gaps in education and understanding that is necessary for any career related to science, engineering, or business. Aside from the education aspect of the school, students and teachers were usually unaccepting, not understanding, hypocritical, contradicting, and disorganized. Many teachers are easily bribed by gifts and blatantly display favoritism. I had a lot of trouble with one of my daughters teachers. She always seemed to lose my daughters work and never once took responsibility of her own lack of cleanliness and organization. She lost my daughters English packets over 3 times, forced her to redo these 7-page packets, accidentally gave her zeros more times than I can remember, and I was left to call the school to sort out the issue. On top of all this, she told my daughter she was failing multiple times (when she really was averaging As or Bs in the class), which caused her a great deal of unnecessary stress. The students at the school are quite close-minded and bigoted. They claim to be godly individuals at school yet turn around and bully autistic students, bully international students, and brag about parties where alcohol and drugs are used. Do not get me wrong, some of this behavior is sadly expected from high school students. However, the hypocrisy in calling oneself a good Christian and then turning around and taking part in these disgusting acts is undeniably repulsive. From what I gathered from my daughter, this is not a real Christian environment. If you want your child to be well prepared for college and develop in an environment that is both fair and accepting, do not send your child to this school. Trust me, you will be happy that you did not, and this education is definitely not worth the price that you pay. If any further information is needed, please contact me personally.

Clear Lake Christian School strives for excellence in all they do. Their focus is a wonderful blend of academics and preparing for college coupled with a focus on instilling Christlike values in our children. The weekly chapel services have dynamic speakers including church pastors, youth pastors and interns who connect well with our children and deliver relevant biblical messages that leave lasting impressions, which I am so grateful for.My daughter first came to CLCS last year in 8th grade and although she came from a very large school, she blended right in at CLCS and became part of the family. The summer right before her 9th grade year (the current 2013/2014 school year) CLCS launched the School of Excellence which is a dual credit program and she jumped right on board with that. I am so thankful that CLCS provides daily transportation to and from the college as well. When my daughter graduates high school in 4 years, she will also leave CLCS with an Associates Degree and will be ahead of the game! The leadership in general is composed of incredible people whos focus seems to be taking the school to another level in excellence all while being loving, understanding and merciful people. The school is well rounded and I am looking forward to seeing the what the next few years hold for CLCS. It really is a wonderful school.
