Playwise is an excellent preschool for your little ones. We love all the teachers and staff. There is always a friendly face to greet you every morning and afternoon! I am always excited to see and hear what my child has learned at school.

Weve loved our experience at Playwise (over four years and two kids, and now continuing with our youngest). The teachers are warm, empathetic, and encouraging. The play-based curriculum matches perfectly with our ideal for young children being in a preschool environment while focusing on the important stuff - outside time and play time. Our children were very prepared for kindergarten and we couldnt be happier.

I cannot say enough good things about playwise. We moved here from out of state and my daughter had to change schools mid-year. As soon as we walked into playwise, I knew that was the school for us. My daughter absolutely loves it and can not wait to go to school everyday. All the teachers are so responsive and engaged and kind. Miss Barrie is the absolute best and has provided us with some invaluable direction and suggestions regarding our daughter. Our son will be starting in the fall so we’ll have two kids at playwise and I couldn’t be happier about it. Highly recommend!

The teachers have all been great & friendly. My son is always happy to go to school and always says he had a fun time. We have not experienced any teacher turnover and our son has 3 teachers for his class of 13 kids. Also, he seems to be learning a bunch and having the things that he already knows or that weve worked on at home reinforced which is great. I would highly recommend Playwise!

We didnt have the best experience at Playwise. We only made it 3 days before the director informed me that my son was not adjusting well, that he was screaming and crying more often than not. She didnt provide any information as to what was triggering his meltdowns. Per the policy, I was not allowed to stay and help him transition and help the teachers identify what was wrong. She said they were doing everything they could to try and help him, but again, didnt provide specific information. We walked in on the last day and my son started crying. Instead of validating his feeling or trying to identify what was upsetting him, she asked Where is your smile? We work with a smile here! I try hard to teach my son emotional competence and I didnt appreciate him being told he needed to smile, even though something was clearly wrong. I had a favorable impression of the teachers, but I dont think this place is the right fit for anyone with a child who may need a little extra TLC and patience.

Playwise has been an incredible blessing for our family. The teachers are all amazing with the kids and really take the time to get to know each child so they can better help the child learn and grow. Our daughter cannot wait to go to school and is so excited to share what she has learned every day when I pick her up. I cannot imagine a better preschool experience. Love, love, love this school!

My daughter loves her preschool! Both of my girls started at Playwise in their summer camps. They attended all of the available camps that year (2013). It was a fantastic kindergarten reddiness program for my 5yr old, and preschool reddiness for my 3yr old. My youngest (now 5) has had a wonderful preschool experience, and is ready and excited for kindergarten. She will be entering kindergarten already reading! Thank you so much to the wonderful teachers at Playwise who have loved and supported my girls. I highly recommend Playwise to anyone.

Playwise is a gem! Top-notch teachers, small class sizes, balanced curriculum and great facilities. Our son is finishing up his 3rd year there (3s, pre-K and now TK), and it has been an excellent experience overall. My brother-in-law used to own a business in which he provided services to preschools and daycares throughout the LKN region. He had seen many of them and had a chance to meet many of the teachers and children in those different facilities during their normal operation hours. While searching for a preschool, we consulted with him. Playwise was on his short list. After touring the school, we knew it was the right fit.The owner, Barrie, has done a fantastic job of providing kids a fun, safe and caring environment. All of the teachers my son has had over the years (Barrie, Denise, Loni, Amber, Naida, Kendra) have been absolutely amazing. They are well-educated, well-spoken, fun and truly affectionate toward the children. In other words, all of the teachers seem like they really want to be there and are invested in the childrens growth and happiness. All of them have had a positive impact on our son.The curriculum is challenging, but it doesnt seem like they put any pressure the kids. I have spoken to a few parents of kids that were in our sons pre-K class last year and are in kindergarten this year. They have told me that their kids were more than prepared for kindergarten. Our son was diagnosed with a learning disability at an early age and has experienced a few struggles. However, it has never a struggle to get him to go to Playwise. Miss Barrie and all of the teachers have taken a genuine interest in helping our son succeed by listening to his needs as well as being open to implementing strategies given by our sons occupational and speech therapists. We couldn’t be happier with the both the personal and academic growth he has experienced at Playwise.I was completely surprised to see anything but 5 star reviews for Playwise. All of the other Playwise parents I have spoken to feel as we do...lucky to have our child at Playwise. I dont know the specifics situations of those parents who left negative reviews, so I cannot comment on them. However I would like to share my opinion on a few things. It seems to me that Playwise strives to provide a safe learning environment. This includes a low tolerance policy on a few disciplinary issues, especially physical violence. After having toured another preschool in which I witnessed a 3 year old child repeatedly run and tackle another child without teacher intervention, Playwise policies are something that I cherish. On the other hand, when disciplinary issues have arisen (including with our sons behavior), everything was handled professionally, lovingly and effectively. If you are looking for a preschool where your child will learn a lot and love to learn, look no further. Check out Playwise!

At the end of a very rough year with the director at Playwise, we decided to move with our childs teacher to a different school for next year. She was one of many teachers that quit after the control issues they faced with the director. However, we had also decided to keep our youngest child at Playwise for the upcoming year for the sake of academics and signed her up at the beginning of enrollment.HOWEVER.... When, at the end of the year, we expressed our disappointment with the unprofessional way this last year ran, the director called us (but didnt wait until the end of June, when it was next to impossible to find a good alternative with openings) to inform us that she was giving our deposit back and wished us luck in finding something else for our youngest child. I was shocked at the repeat of unprofessional actions displayed by this director. If you are looking for a preschool where you kiss up to the director, present no opinions to her, and want a high teacher turnover rate (all but one teacher quit this year), make an appointment.

We were kicked out of this preschool after 1.5 months. Our kid misbehaved and they refused to take any measures to help him adapt in the environment. We have also known that another kid was kicked out a week earlier. In a request to process us a refund for the rest of month, they answered: “I am sorry but we do not offer refunds once tuition is paid”. So we lost 125$ registration fee plus about 80$ for the rest of the month. If your kid behaves well, then it could be a good place for him, otherwise here is what they say: “we are there to teach the class, not punish or discipline children in our group”. It is interesting, that our kid attended 2 other preschools and never had any issues. Unwillingness or inability to deal with naughty kids says that teachers in that preschool are not different than a neighbor babysitter girl. We found that our critics in local information sources were quickly “moderated”, so we suspect that there could be other victims, we just never got that information.
