Two of my children goes to EMI Childcare Center and I can say they are very well taken care of. I can tell they are learning because my children ask many questions and knows how to count, knows their alphabets, shapes colors. They love it so much there they do not want to leave. I am pleased with the service. I appreciate the communication between administration and the parents. They explain how they have progressed since they have been attending. My children are excited to go to school in the mornings. EMI Child Care Center feel very strongly about the safety and care for their children. They are very clean, the director cleans the whole building everyday towards closing time and on the weekends. The building is very clean I was surprised on how clean it was! I am very appreciative of them. Grateful that they want to better help, grow, develop my children in every aspect so they they may excel. EMI Child Care Center is up to a great start, and works towards success.

My daughter loves this daycare. She was at a previous daycare who had mistreated her so I was very skeptical about sending her to this one after hearing bad things. But this daycare exceeds the expectations of what a daycare should be. They are accommodating with times because they understand life is busy. My daughter reaches for her teachers. She loves them and they love her. She just turned 1 and knows her numbers 1 and 2 and can say them. They got her walking after 2 weeks of being there. She knows where her nose and mouth is. I know my baby is well taken care of. The previous posts about this daycare are from disgruntled employees and them getting their friends and family to write bad reviews. Ive been down the road of daycare mistreatment and I can assure you this one is not mistreating any employees or children.

As former Owner/Director it is very common for parents and former employees to be disgruntled when rules and regulations are enforced. This school is governed by The Department of Human Resources and has a great rating .. Owners, Directors as well as Teacher are held accountable for all actions and must at all cost ensure the safety and well being of all children to include no outside food to be brought in ( due to allergies of all children) Children with behavioral issues must be monitored closely or removed to protect other children . I assure you the doors are open for tours at any request or upon any visit . The menus are posted and daily classroom activities are as well . I assure your your children are safe and well managed and assisted to meet individual needs of each child .

Since I’m assuming my post was blocked/reported I’ll repost and speak the same facts! As a previous employee I wouldn’t recommend the center either. I sadly referred others to the center and after they were enrolled everything they were told before enrolling was changed. Knowing that everything I was told along with others that started and quit after a few days or weeks I understand the level of frustration. The owner whom is the one with the degree works solely in the infant room and the center is overseen and ran by the daughter whom has obtained an Engineering degree (NO business or childcare degree). During my time (1 month) I witnessed many quit and children be terminated for unreasonable terms. Being that I have an education background and will have a masters degree in December I went in expecting to help flourish at the center but each day I was pulled in a different way. At hiring I was told that I would help in the infant class and because they wanted consistency in the preschool class I would be placed there and receive full time hours. Without notice of any form I was moved into the toddler classroom and then once I expressed multiple times that I preferred to be in the preschool room where I was promised and that the toddlers there I wasn’t comfortable with nor was it a room that I could see my growth the level of attitudes and respect changed. My hours went from full time to 10-15 hours a week. Then they kept saying the mother was working a second job to be able to pay the employees payroll which had nothing to do with me. Also the meals served to the children I felt wasn’t acceptable with the amount of money the parents pay. Ravioli every other day, mini turkey slice with gravy poured on it, and applesauce being the only snack. I feel this center has a long road ahead.

I am a teacher at this facility and would be honored for my children to go to school here. The director as well as the owner will go above and beyond for our children enrolled here and their families as long as it does not go against the policies and regulations. The staff is great and I couldnt have found a better team to work with! We are here to teacher ALL of the children in this facility and to protect them while they are in our care.

To hear how my niece have been treated and how she even come back and tell me how she is being yelled at from her teacher is a disgraceful sound to ear. No child should have to come home and cry about going to school every day and to know how my niece actually act and to hear the teacher explain how my niece act doesn’t sound even close to true. Some better structure needs to be place in this school

My five stars are because I enjoy my job and no matter where you put me I’m able to adapt. However you haven’t been informed because you DONT KNOW ME. I will have a CDA at the end of this month 🤭 and I have over 200 hours of training in and outside of the classroom, and that’s with others children. However that’s just extra. I don’t need a degree to work with children it comes natural to me. I’ve raised a beautiful 14 year old daughter that’s amazing, straight A’s &B’s from elementary school to now, with no disciplinary record, that will be in High School this coming school year. I Really don’t have to explain anything to ANYONE. It’s simple You don’t know Me. 🤫

It is disturbing to not only see but hear the amount of unprofessionalism coming from staff and managers at this facility. When has it ever been ok to publicly humiliate, bash, embarrass and discourage the character of another child. You say you are all for the children and their growth and best interest. What part of this says that. There are things you do in public and things you do in private and publicly degrading another student, a toddler at that, is beyond disgusting. My goddaughter attended this facility and had the worst experience there. She has never had behavioral problems or been a danger to any child at any school that she has attended. By what I am seeing the entire management team and staff need to be retrained on what it is to appropriately take care of a child. I am a highly educated woman myself and can say NO DEGREE makes you fully qualified for a position/job but your characteristics and skill do. The characteristics and skill witnessed do not convince me or prove to me anyone at this establishment has the ability to take care of any of the children at the facility. I am more than happy my God daughter no longer attends this establishment. It’s very convenient and ironic that after receiving bad reviews you turn around and have former or current employees writing reviews giving you 5 star recommendations. That does not prove or convince anyone the opposite of the terrible things others have truly said about your company. My best advice to this company is to work on their childhood developmental skills, manners and professionalism because if not you will continue to lose more children as you have been.

The employees that are posting have just started in the last 3 weeks and I am sure the director is promising to give them a raise to rate them at a 5. This daycare is a horrible daycare. I was employed here as well and lasted a week because I overheard the director talking about another employee to her mother who is suppose to be the owner (messy). They say they want it to be a family type business but I felt out of place. The daughter was terminating kids each day because a parent would disagree with her. They told me I would teach the toddler room but placed me in the infant room where the mother sat and held the babies all day and moved another teacher into that classroom (toddler)without notice. Also they want you to remove your shoes in the infant classroom but the floor is very dirty and the carpet hasn’t been cleaned and that’s where the kids play in the floor. I overheard another teacher telling the mother there were ants in one room and she responded with spray windex on them. They childcare providers cater to more of the caucasians than treating the kids equally. Choose this daycare at your own digression but remember everything that looks good on the outside isn’t always good on the inside.

I have been an early childhood teacher at this facility since February. I. Recently moved to Alabama from New York where I have worked in Early childhood education for many years, in a variety of settings. After moving here I was looking for a childcare position because thats where my heart is, working with young children and helping them learn. As a teacher, we spend the majority of the day with these young children , we do everything we can to ensure the safety and well-being of each and every child that is entrusted in our care. We know how difficult it can be this day and age for parents to trust anyone with our children. And it is an honor to have such trust from our families who enroll their children with us.Since the day i stepped foot in EMI childcare center, I felt like this center was where I was meant to be . It is where I felt most comfortable. I had several opportunities at other centers around town. And I am glad I chose this one.We are a new facility and that said we do currently have lower enrollment. But that is changing. When i started we only had 2 rooms open. Now we have 3. As we get more and more children, the Director and owner have been looking for dedicated, fun and knowledgeable teachers to create a wonderful, consistent working/ learning environment for the staff and for the children.Unfortunately not everyone is cut out to be an Early Childhood educator. And that is fine. It isnt for everyone. The pay in the education field is low, but the rewards are invaluable . The staff we currently have is amazing and compliments each other and works very well together ❤. Our classrooms are always kept within ratio. In fact the classroom sizes are kept low to create a positive learning environment which has many benefits to the children in the class. Every child learns differently and keeping the class size smaller allows the teacher to spend more one on one with each child. Ensuring they are learning and reaching those milestones . Every single child is treated equally. Each classroom has a daily schedule the teacher has to follow. As well as rules and regulations set by DHR. The lunch / pm snack menus for the week are posted in the main hall as well as each classroom. Foods that the children enjoy are regularly added. The childcare center isnt allowed to let parents bring in outside food due to potential food allergies of several children. As a mom, I would feel confident enolling my own children in this child care center regardless of if it is my place of employment or not. This center genuinely cares and values ALL the children in their care, the families and teachers.

I wish I could give more stars. I was very skeptical about sending my baby to daycare due to so many horrible stories. well I worked at a few daycare and trust I wouldnt let my child attend to them for free 😂😂😂. I met the owner first and lets just say she a sweetheart she didnt try to push me into enrolling like most daycares try to use the oh this spot wont last long so you rush but she actually told me, my child was welcome to attend and if I didnt feel like it was right for us she would refund all money. Well we didnt need a refund. Honestly, this lady prepare a fresh meal everyday and Im a mother with a husband and I dont cook everyday. She made sure that each child is fed and tries to cook to their liking not some run down school program like most daycares. There was time we ran late and other kids as well, she made sure to do a second breakfast. I was so stuck on a family daycare that we used but due to there wasnt any spot it was a blessing we found this one hes actually learning and Im happy most of all about that. Keep up the Good Work! Thanks EMI !

By far the worst school I have enrolled my child in. Emilia has no clue how to handle preschool aged children let alone run a daycare. She has no background in child education, running a business or anything related to either. Emilia will call you every single day over the smallest things as if people are not working. She makes up rules and regulations daily that are so far fetched and foolish; nor can she stick to a schedule (ie. breakfast went from 8:30 to 8:00 to 7:30 without letting parents know). It’s been a complete nightmare. My child has never been insulted the way she spoke of her. I refuse to allow my daughter to stay in an environment where they pick and choose who they want to teach. This school has been open since January 2019 and the turnover rate for teachers/students are ridiculous (hence the reason they only have about 9 kids enrolled). DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE!

I worked there for a week and everything was not as they made it to be. They are very unorganized and lies just to make themself sound good. Before i started my first day I was told that i was going to be training for a week or two in all the classes so that i can help out when needed. Doing my “training” i was only suppose to been working a few hrs a day , instead i got stuck in one class full time because they were short of staff like they always are because they can’t keep nobody. On top of that i couldn’t even get a steady schedule. They let them kids mess up there clothes with food leave there nose nasty and do not sanitize those toys. For me that has been the worst daycare yet that i have worked in. The choice of food could be better also. Eating the same thing everyday when there’s plenty of things you can feed a child. I’ve never been to a daycare that don’t like to discipline a child. Thats PART OF THE JOB and DHR have there rules pertaining that. I’ve been DHR certified as an Teacher Assistant in a daycare for 4 years and a lot of the stuff that goes on there just isn’t right. For the pay and the stuff that goes on and how they do is not worth it. Find another facility. I said what i said 🤷🏾‍♀️

Disgruntled? First off about what? I have a degree and will obtain another one (Master’s)in a few months. Let’s compare degrees.....I’ll wait! You are absolutely right everyone is not cut out for childcare but baby I was made for childcare and have proven that through multiple children!!! I don’t band together with anyone to bring anything down because that’s not in my nature. I’m stating facts along with other teachers that commented about there experience at the center. As a past employee the experience was horrible simple as that. I left there and went to another job the next day which I had ALREADY warned the director 2 weeks prior that I was looking for something else because she did not keep her word and because she continued to place me in situations without notice. I have worked in childcare for a total of 19 years and just because they did what needed to be done to receive the approval from DHR doesn’t mean they are continuing to run things in that order. For instance there is a requirement for certain toys/tools in each classroom and after receiving the score those items have been removed and placed in the cabinets. Yes there is a menu that’s posted but after speaking with DHR a lot of the meals wouldn’t pass regulation. The toddlers food is also suppose to be cut down so that it’s not a choking hazard for them but that’s not done! Also real cleaning and sanitizing is suppose to be done each day not just on Saturday. Also I shouldn’t have had to be the one to educate the director that the students needed to write with pencils to gain the motor skills. Also the kids need more than one box of crayons. I brought things in to help understand how to run a center and allowed her to make copies because they were clueless. Erin she (Emilia)specifically had told me that you weren’t consistent and wanted me to be in the preschool room full time so honey that’s family-like right? You needed a job to take care of those 4 children at home so your willing to take whatever and at the time you were the only employee so you had nothing to worry about. You were also the main one speaking on how you all couldn’t get teachers to stay. During my month there 11 teachers started and quit within a weeks time. Yes it’s a new facility and have only been open for 6 months and while I was there lost 9 or more kids. Which is just as many as teachers. That isn’t a good look. I found the owner/director very inappropriate many times because as the head you don’t talk about your employees or your enrolled students outside business especially when a child is going back and forth through court (facts). Also I am 100% the parent did not tell their child that she did not have to listen to the teachers bc that parent accepts no disrespect from her child especially to any adults. Secondly the parent had no reason to be upset bc the teacher was no longer there, she was aware from the time she enrolled her child that things weren’t as they were portrayed after she was lied to about certain things. As a parent I would not enroll my kids because my daughter is above what is taught there at the age of one and the kids there are not meeting developmental standards and the schedule would not meet what needs school agers need. As far as students being a risk hmmmm..I can bring out my notes with date and time that I took/documented each day “C.R” threw a chair, was having tantrums and melt downs, threw books almost hitting “I.J” in the eye, how she was pinching her and N.H and I told Emilia and she sent her home for one day. I can also recall A.L hitting and pinching H.C and the response was I’ll talk to his mom. I can also recall the grandchildren/nephews being EXTREMELY disobedient and nothing being done and a decision being made to allow one to wear a hat because she felt that would help him be good. So because a child cries because they miss their mom or because they are having trouble adjusting to a new environment you can’t handle it? As a business owner your not going to like every review but you learn to grow from them especially if they are FACTS!!!
