This school is a lot safer than a lot of other schools. It teaches good patriotic morals. The relationship between teacher and student are special and are something to grow on. The teachers are really good at teaching and treat everybody well. But the school lunch could be a bit better. And they could let he students go outside more. And some of the teachers get grumpy.

Claiming they teach patriotism and students to be good citizens but our experience was very much the opposite.Bullying from students and favoritism from teachers, teachers who dont want to teach the curriculum but do to keep their job, belief that all students learn the same and that if a child has As they dont need any help, their way of handling situations is handing out refocus forms (different from citations) instead of addressing the issue and helping the child learn from their mistakes.Elementary rigorous learning here is shoving as much information in and doing meaningless worksheets as much as possible instead of spending quality time on subjects and learning material. If you arent part of the in crowd, your children wont belong

Their system has no character, the tests have to be approved but it takes the staff a ridiculous amount of time to approve anything. Anything the school teaches is all business related, they only let the students do something different during electives.

As a former student, I can say that this school is extremely bias, they dont listen to any childs opinion, and has poor teaching. Before you go and say that this is a random student who just hates homework and school, let me just say that this school has some great teachers and good values. But some teachers are just plain bad. Everyday when my sisters came home in third grade they were either crying or just sad because of the rude teachers who dont teach well and get mad more than needed. When my mom talked to their teacher about it, the teacher got mad at my sisters the next day.The Founders Kids meaning the board members kids, get their way EVERY TIME. Because of one founders kid who I will not name, my good friend was expelled because he grabbed a friends hood. The hood he grabbed belonged to his friend and his friend had ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM with him getting his attention that way.The elementary school principal is also a problem. One day me and my best friend were called into her office. I went first and when I came in she told me that some kid told her I was the one who clogged the bathroom drain, closing school just days before. I told her I did not do it, and she said to think long and hard about it. I did not, because I know what I did and she does not. I said I did not do it and she seemed determined that it was me and acted as such. This scared me half to death. Now that I am in high-school I realize that it was probably just a fear tactic. I was in third grade at the time. Its sad the people in charge in that school relentlessly assume the worst of us students. Thats it.

This charter school is a great, free option for Idaho Falls. Their scores were some of the highest compared to all the SE Idaho schools last year. They have several great additional points such as: patriotism, cowboy ethics, money management, & entrepreneurial aspects. The teacher to student ratio is awesome. This is like a throw-back to the good days of teachers who actually cared for their kids & who love to teach.

I have been going to this school since I was 8 years old, I have made many friends but thats not the only reason I love coming to school. I love the welcoming environment that is shown everyday that you come. I love the one on one relationship you build with the staff. I love that we get to learn about our wonderful country. Every morning when I stand for the pledge I feel a little more inspired to work hard. Yes, we are pushed but thats not bad because this school makes any student that walks in better no matter who they are. I love this school and I HIGHLY recommend that you send your student here because yes it is challenging and yes it may be different but I promise this school will change your student into a strong, proud and brave Patriot but most of all a leader.

Small Rural Free Public Charter School. Yearly lottery, many grades have waitlist. Great student to teacher ratio. Rigorous curriculum at all grade levels k-12. Students learn Patriotism, American Heritage, Cowboy Ethics, Dave Ramsey Personal Finance, Leadership Academy, Entrepreneurship, Essential 55, Great Expectations, Sweat Pledge by Mike Rowe and the secondary school uses Summit Learning Curriculum. Many after school clubs and fun activities. Students who meet grade requirements can try out and if selected participate in nearby public school sports teams. Zero tolerance for bullying. Students at secondary level are expected to take ownership and responsibility for their learning so teachers have an active role as mentors to teach them these valuable life skills in addition to teaching mastery of subject matter. Students help clean and take care of the school. Elementary school building built in 1927 and restored in 2013 is an historical landmark listed on the national registry. There is a strict dress code that is enforced. This charter school is not for everyone but it is an excellent school of choice.

This is the best school in Idaho Falls in my opinion for teaching our children the values of American Heritage along with their formal education. Our kids have excelled in their academic performance as well in several leadership opportunities. The teachers are Top Notch instructors and the Principle is the most committed school administrator I have ever know to date. He is also involved in teaching some elective classes to the higher grades and go the extra mile in every area to make the school a success. The school has sponsored some great events for our community such as meet the Mayor candidates evening, Breakfast with George Washington and some fund raiser dinners. We high recommend you consider sending your children to this school should you ever have the chance. Dr. Jacobson Park West Dental Care

As a business professional, new to the state, I was stunned at the lack of security of the children, unprofessional staff behavior & the blatant disregard for how the students treat one another. As educators & adults the responsibility falls on the staff to ensure bullying is not occurring & when it does, acknowledge & act accordingly. I also would not recommend this school to any parent that wants their child to have freedom of thoughts & ideas without being ridiculed because they are different or think differently as they learn. When given criticism, they should listen to the feedback and ideas instead of threatening the childs education. Very poorly ran school in my opinion.

AHCS is not just a 5 star school. AHCS creates hard-working patriots, business professionals, and teaches vital life skills that will lead anyone on the path to success. American Heritage Charter School teaches curriculum that is incomparable to other schools. The curriculum is meant to be challenging and rigorous to teach students how to work hard and be prepared for their future. AHCS provides one-on-one time with teachers and mentors. AHCS has an outstanding staff that truly cares for every student and will do everything they can to help their students succeed. AHCS teaches self-learning methods that encourage students to take advantage of their future. AHCS teaches us to be accountable and to meet dead lines. If some people consider this curriculum to be too hard, then I dont know how anyone would survive real life! At our school, we proudly wear red, white, and blue uniforms resembling our countrys flag and also teaching us how to dress professionally for future life. AHCS does all they can to make everyone feel welcome and gives every student the opportunity to excel in anything they do. I am a 9th grader and if I continue on the path AHCS has set for me, I will be a Junior next year. I LOVE IT HERE and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get the best education around, be successful, and have a successful life.Views about what matters most in a school vary. Some believe school is all about the social life. Some believe school is all about the life experiences. Most do not take their futures seriously. There is one thing to consider: Why was public school created? Public school wasnt organized to increase childrens social lives, wardrobes, or popularity. School was created for one reason: to LEARN. The future of the world is in the hands of these future generations. They need to be equipped with all the necessary tools to be outstanding students and citizens. At AHCS, we learn what it means to be an outstanding American. We learn what it means to be a business professional. We learn what it takes to succeed in school and in life. This school isnt just providing a phenomenal education, equipping students with the necessary tools to succeed in high school and beyond, this school is teaching core values, ethics, and principles, shaping students to be strong, proud, and brave patriots.

Very good people with a strong focus on patriotism and developing leadership. They are excellent at addressing with students concerns brought up by parents. The math curriculum is poor. Minimal instruction is provided - kids are expected to refer to a poorly organized online system with scattered links and resources to learn the material.8th grade english for my daughter consisted of little to no reading, and several lessons started with the teacher saying, this will probably be a review, followed by lectures on basic grammar terminology learned in elementary school. The school day is an hour longer than it should be with a subpar curriculum and minimal instruction. Additionally, the excessive homework provided is accompanied by confusing, if any, instructional information.
