My wife and I signed our boys up for T-ball last year and they had a great time and we did too… we signed our boys up for soccer this year and had their last game today, I don’t know what happened… maybe it was a change in sports directors, I don’t know, but this year was terrible!! It was complete chaos from start to finish!! We had a parents meeting and we were told that the fields would be marked so that you would know where your kid would be playing, and we were told that the jerseys would be there.First day of soccer and the fields were not marked, parents were wondering around trying to figure out what to do and the staff were not helpful at all. My wife even asked about one of our sons jerseys and they told her that they didn’t know what happened to them that they couldn’t find them, so we waited for a minute, I went and asked they told me that they think that they gave them to someone else or someone came and took them… that first day, I wasn’t impressed at all…It’s been complete chaos every Saturday since! Unmarked fields, confused parents, and staff that aren’t helpful at all and just sit in their camping chairs in the shade having a grand time while us parents are left to try and sort things out… today was the last soccer game and almost everyone was gone. Today was the first time one of the staff was actually helpful and helped organize two teams.I’m very disappointed in the YMCA. I didn’t pay for this… my wife and I won’t be signing up our boys through the YMCA anymore. If we are going to pay money for sports, it will either be through City of Ammon or Idaho Falls or if their school provides it, but, we won’t be wasting our time and money on the YMCA anymore.

So many great activities and wonderful leaders and teachers for my Grandchildren. Summer and after school programs are awesome.

The soccer referee program has some room for improvement. The Idaho Falls location could use some more money invested in it. Better seats as well.

This place has been in our community since I think 1944 and they have had their ups and downs like any non-profit. However, since a few years now it is vastly different, from the new lobby to the new programs, its so much better now. They have volleyball now along with so many teams for soccer its just amazing how theyve grown! Cant wait to see what other great programs they have coming out for our community!

Staff is great! Love the Crossfit and weights classes. Coaches train you and let you work. It is pretty awesome.

Truly cannot understand the high costs to join/attend this facility. I would understand if the high prices were directly related to paying the various coaches & trainers related to the various sports programs, but arent they SUPPOSED to be volunteers? WHERE exactly is this money going? I could understand the high cost, IF the equipment & facility were new and up to date, but thats not the case either. So again, why the high join cost & monthly membership prices? In my opinion there are MUCH nicer options in at town at MUCH more reasonable prices. I would suggest adding a membership option for single adults who dont utilize the various sports programs, (that are obviously designed for children), as well as a membership option for those with disabilities. For being a 503(c) NON-PROFIT, (non-profit being the key word here) somebody is making out like a bandit, as opposed to putting that money BACK into the facility, FOR the community.....just a thought..

Since I appreciate the YMCAs mission and support of the community I naturally was drawn towards joining this gym. While I have noticed a few minor flaws. The gym is well taken care of from what I can see, but it looks like most of the free weights need replaced. And the general condition of the equipment seems worn down. Also I have noticed that they keep the equipment sanitized from the strong smell of bleach and cleaning products in the hall way of the gym. I like going to the YMCA but the staff are not always greeting people when they arrive in the center, and I find myself often saying hello or have a good evening when I come and leave. Other than these minor grievances I love going and have benefited from having a good place to lift weights after work and on the weekends.

This place is a DUMP!! OUT OF ORDER signs everywhere, and on everything. The building is so outdated and mistreated it is almost a hazard. I signed my kids up to play sports here and if I would have know there were NO COACHES and the building was so disgusting I would have gone to a different league. Save your money, there are better sports programs offered for the same price at other places. I wish I would have done better research.

Ive never been around a more dysfunctional, confusing, unorganized facility more in my life.. and at the insanely high costs?! My son went two weeks, two times being forgotten after school and consistently having to seek out where the children were being kept for pickup. It truly was a mess that I got sick of extremely quick. If youre paying their rates, I recommend finding other facilities in the area.

If you are competitive and want your child to be good at sports--dont waste you time at the Y... If you are the everybody gets a trophy kind of parent-this is the place for your child.

The Idaho Falls YMCA is a low cost alternative to the more expensive gyms in town. They have a great weight lifting room and multiple full size racket ball courts. They are usually pretty clean and the staff is very helpful.

Pretty old school gym. 2 different areas to lift and a full court basketball court. Very old equipment but works great.

They are full of excuses and push blame on other people. My 8 year old was left out at his FIRST football game. They handed out jerseys (cheaply made shirt with the Y logo on it) to all of the kids except my child. When we asked why he did not get one the response was we did not have enough. and asked was he registered late? Ummm no he was not and Cristian (the Idaho falls sports director) confirmed it. they gave him a old raggedy mesh pull over to wear that was white. (Team color is blue) Then (after the child had played in his jersey) my son was offered a shirt off of another childs back. NOT FAIR TO THAT CHILD.when i called and spoke with the Sports director he simply said I did not have time to count them and the coach should not have given them out if there was not enough. After I spent well over 45 min on the phone with Cristian he re-assured me my son will have a shirt at his next game and will be uniformed like the team he plays on.Well thanks YMCA for making my child (who was soooo excited to get his jersey) upset and feel left out. Go Team, except the only child who was not included.
