I am a concerned parent and was wondering why so many of the teachers are Roncalli are not licensed by the State of Indiana. I would think as much as they ask for tuition, they would at least require the teachers to be licensed. I was also put off by the patronizing attitude most of the people have at the school. For a Christian based school with the mission statement which says:As a Catholic high school, our pledge is to provide, in concert with parents, parish, and community, an educational opportunity which seeks to form Christian leaders in body, mind and spirit. Guided by prayer and the Gospel values of faith, love, and justice, students are challenged to respond to the call of discipleship and to fulfill their potential as lifelong learners in service to others. Our end is to make God’s love complete among us.The only children worth having as students are those with money or social influence or both, otherwise the comment is made Roncalli isnt for everyone. I know high school is hard but it usually comes from the kids not the kids, school officials and staff. If Roncalli were truly praying and trying to make Gods love complete among us they ostracize a lot of children and parents. Since when did Gods word every say its not for everyone.

Just witnessed this schools lacrosse team and I found the behavior of the players, coaches, and parents to be wholly unacceptable. Sportsmanship is clearly not a cornerstone of the athletics program. I was even more saddened when I learned that this is a Christian school. As followers of Christ, we should be held to a higher standard. Roncalli clearly doesnt embrace this calling and hurts the image of Christians in our communities. So sad.

I would not recommend. If you are not a generation of families that have attended the school they do not care about your child. They decide their own way to discipline kids who test positive for drugs. There is no consistency on how they discipline the kids who are caught. Its all about who you know and if your child is able to play sports. It is not worth the money. The area has gone down hill

Horrible school. so behind the times. seems like a religious cult to me. they dont care about students, just sports. its too clicky with the students. if you care about more than sports and being popular, never go here. i cant even mention how horrible the gym class system is.

Wow. what a pitiful school. i would give zero stars if I could, or maybe just a half star for the papa johns pizza on wednesdays. as a current senior, i can give my personal thoughts on this place by being current and up to date about all of the happenings. first of all, guiance counselors do NOT HELP YOU. do not expect to be able to go to them for help because they will give you a partial answer or give you no advice at all. freshman year i had decided that i was interested in a future in theater and my counselor had told me that there would be no way that i could do that. arent guidance counselors supposed to aid students in their future goals? children need to be supported with their endeavors, not pushed down at an attempt to determine what their future holds. every single extra curricular at this school is rigged, having nothing to do with talented students and giving the majority of the spots to people who have money or have a well known last name within the Roncalli family. cheerleaders and football players were recently put on probation because of a party that got busted with alcohol. so if you saw roncalli football players and cheerleaders standing on the side lines this year, that is why. 25% of the season or run for the track season - what a PUNishment. many students get slapped on the hand for events that should have disciplinary actions taken instead. and in other cases, disciplinary action is just unnecessary. for example, in the past week, there has been a student that was suspended for two days due to him 1) changing lockers (a task that is frequently done by students) and 2) putting about 50 of the new child of God magnets inside of his locker. this was looked upon as having possession of school property. a 2 day suspension is a larger level of punishment than being caught cheating twice. cell phones that go off once in class and are confiscated by a teacher will caused the owner a three day in school suspension and percentage points off of their final grade in every class. they recently implemented a rule that you are unallowed to cut the lunch line or you will get a detention. literally, a detention for walking in the lunch line. i understand that cutting in the lunch line isnt right but the way to stop that is not to threaten a detention for it. anything disciplinary that has to do with football players or students with wealthy families usually gets overlooked. the main music teacher Joey Newton does not allow students with real talent to receive solos and chooses people based on his favorites. the foreign languages program needs some major help, especially in spanish. i am very thankful that i have already finished my three years that are necessary because being in a foreign language was a hectic mess. in three years, i had 6 teachers. SIX TEACHERS!!!! that is absolutely insane. i have no idea how i was able to learn along with all of the other kids in the classes with me. the difference between an honors level class and a college prep class is very drastic. college prep students are usually working on topics covered within the first month of school for honors students and will barely get to half of the information that is covered by honors level students. the grading scale is also incredibly preposterous. notes have to be sent to colleges along with applications that our grading scale is harder. why does a school keep a grading scale at a hard level? a 3.5 gpa will equate to a 4.0 at a local public school, possibly even higher than that. children become easily frustrated at the inability to succeed here, especially if they are not good at school anyways. there is not much diversity at this school. foreign and african american students equate for approximately 6% of the student body. students are racist and tend to swear throughout the day and that is why we have posted all around the school encouraging us to use other words instead of swear words. many students do drugs or vape or smoke, other things that are not to be allowed at Roncalli.

As a former student of this horrible place I would NOT recommend anyone to send their child here. Ive gone to a catholic school since kindergarten and had some disagreements with the church but was somewhat devoted with my religion going into freshman year. After starting Roncalli it made me realize what a joke their religion class is and it actually made me not believe an any type of organized religion at all. Roncalli claims that the student body is one big happy family but that is so far from the the truth. Everyone talks about everyone and there is quite a lot of bullying and in many situation Pun has done nothing. Also, a lot of the teachers are just poor excuses for teachers. As much as tutuition is, teachers should be willing to help students when the help is asked for rather than the teacher denying the student help. And the school did know about that and did nothing. The SAP program is also a joke. The school is overly strict. I believe in not having phone use in school because its distracting but really an ISS and 6% taking off ALL semester grades? Boys being threatened with a suspension OR being forced to use a rusty razor and handsanatizer with other boys hair AND blood on it if they dont shave. This school is ridiculous and thankfully I got the opportunity to leave before I went out of my mind.
