Amazing class. I have never been so engaged and entertained for 2 hours as I was with this class. The teacher is innately funny and I enjoyed interacting with my classmates. The food was delicious and I truly feel like I left the class with an authentic and legitimate recipe for making sushi. Thanks Moury! (sp?)

Attended the intro to sushi class, and I cannot recommend enough! The teacher is incredibly knowledgeable about Japanese culture and cuisine. We learned not only how to make sushi, but also Japanese table etiquette, ingredient selection, and just general culture to consider that went into making the dishes. We were also provided all the recipes at the end of the class. The instructor is great at making sure you understand everything that is going on. She is hands on to make sure your technique is correct. The food was delicious, and she does a fantastic job of explaining the differences between typical recipes and what you do, and how that changes the taste compared to a standard restaurant or store bought item.I will be scheduling to attend the other classes with my friends.

Really depends on what you are looking for. It’s a small privately owned class. The knowledge of sushi was there 5/5. Instruction and professionalism is maybe a 1-2/5.I also am not really interested in paying $65 to take a class in a dirty old restaurant dining room on folding tables. My home kitchen is significantly cleaner and more organized. It kind of feels like taking a kitchen class in someone’s basement.Overall, it was a fun experience. I don’t normally drink but when I pulled up and saw where I was I locked the car, started making my self loosen up a bit and hoped for the best. All is fine now.

Mori was very welcoming when my boyfriend and I arrived to Katsumis Teaching Kitchen. It was really nice that we were able to take a Teriyaki Bento Box class with just us and Mori. Her kitchen was spacious and we were provided with all of the needed supplies/utensils. She was direct and thorough while also being understanding as we were learning learning how to prepare a bento box. She also provided some insight on things like chopstick etiquette and where we could buy Japanese ingredients. Hopefully Mori is able to stay open and not shut now due to Covid-19. We would definitely love to take another class!

This class was a gift from my kids. My friend and I had a wonderful time, learned lots, and ate some good food. Having lived in Japan for two years and having a Japanese step-mother, I know something about Japanese food and the food we made was quite good. This would be an excellent place for a team building activity. Go have some fun and eat some good food.

We had a great time learning to make sushi, spring rolls, and miso soup from scratch! The teacher was excellent and had a good mixture of history, techniques, and personal experience to share during the lesson. Well definitely be back for another class!

I would not recommend. $65 for cake made from aldi cake mix, sushi using imitation crab, and hazelnut coffee mate creamer in our peanut dipping sauce because she was too lazy to go and get real cream. Yeah $65 for that treatment. All she does is bash local sushi places and talk about how having a Japanese mom has made her an expert. These tactics are supposed to make you feel like youre having a special, authentic experience. I learned nothing a 5 min YouTube video couldnt have taught me.

What a great time! I took my girlfiend here for her birthday and we both loved it. I was expecting to be bored, but Mori is hilarious and an excellent teacher and chef. She takes you through not only how to prepare the meal, but what to focus on when you are trying to recreate it on your own at home. The food we made was amazingly good and easy to prepare. We focused on vegeterian options and I was shocked at how easy everything was and how unbelievably good it tasted. We did a cooking class at one of the more mainstream places before and it was nowhere near as good as this. It will be even more fun to go back for the basic sushi class with a group of our friends. If you are at all thinking about taking one of her classes, you should because you will love it.
