All of my appointments have been great. Both students Ive seen have been friendly and helpful. The instructors have been knowledgeable and check-in to make sure everything is going well. Everyone works together to give you what your asking for, and in the rare case that they cant do exactly what you want without damaging your hair, they work with you to find something youre happy with. I look forward to all future appointments.

I had an appointment with Cailin and she was amazing! I wanted curtain bangs and layers, and also I was thinking about balayage. She did my cut so well and it was even better than I imagined. Two of the other teachers there complimented me and her as I was leaving, and I’ve gotten so many compliments from friends. As for the balayage, I’ve previously dyed my hair with box dye and henna so I knew it may not be realistic right now. Cailin and a teacher explained how the ingredients in henna don’t react well with being lightened, and they did a test strand of my hair to show how much longer it would be until I could lighten my hair. The teacher also suggested I could still get the shorter layers around my face lightened since the henna has grown out of those areas already. It was an awesome experience, but you do have to be patient as it can take a little longer than at a typical salon. But for the INSANELY low price and the beautiful cut I got, I will definitely be back to see Cailin! Thank you!

My experience was amazing. The atmosphere relaxed and filled with passion for the industry. These people are fulfilling a dream, working on their future, expressing their art, growing, learning and sharing their talent. I have never had such care and attention to detail, shown to me, ever in my life. Wow, just wow. An entire staff of knowledge and talent, the best of the best, all for me. And at a fraction of the cost. I used one Groupon for the cut and one for the color. There was $22 in add-ons (I have a lot of hair) to make a grand total of $102. I wish Id left more tip. I have come her twice, I will not go anywhere else. Professionals absolutely. I recommend it for males and females. Perfect every time. They do exactly as you. I have been going for my hair cuts for awhile at Paul Mitchell school and I am very pleased with the cuts I have gotten.They are students and a supervisor always is right there to help and advise. Also there hair products are wonderful. I definitely will say give Paul Mitchell a try.

Savannah is excellent. Shes on the phase 2 side. With just 6 or 7 wks to go shes basically a professional sans license. But shell be done with school soon & with her license in hand, plenty of real life practice (on me as well as others), shes well on her way to a great and promising career.

Chastity was my stylist and I loved her, I purchased the cut/style ketraplex groupon and it was definitely worth it! If youre not giving these students a chance based on skepticism alone, youre missing out. The prices are amazing, you cant beat them, and youre giving the students experience they need when they get out on their own. Support the cause! You wont be sorry!

Jessica (student) did my hair (with the help of Ashley) and makeup and both came out great! Everyone is very nice and respectful there and willing to take criticism and make changes if theres something you dont like. Great prices too for what you want. I highly recommend this place!

I get my haircut here every once in a while when I’m trying to save money. Every time I have had to wait 15+ min before I even get taken to a stylist. The “chairs” in the waiting area/lobby are the most uncomfortable I’ve ever experienced. Do not make people wait AT ALL if you’re not going to put backs on your chairs. Also, what is the point of making an appointment if I have to wait 30 min once I arrive?Aside from the incredibly long time it takes (at least an hour and a half from my scheduled appointment time for just a haircut) they usually do a very good job. Perhaps the wait is because the instructors are being very thorough with their students and students are taking their time to make sure they do quality work. If that’s the case, they shouldn’t schedule as many appointments then.

When you enter the establishment its always buzzing. Im always cordially greeted & asked to have a seat. My experience has always been exemplary. At each visit I was greeted by a stylist. Theres a conversation about what youd like done & the supervisor is consulted before any work begins. All throughout the process from hair wash to the final view in the mirror the supervisor is consulted . Theres many clients having their hair colored. The salon is busy. You definitely need an appointment. The minimum cost for great service is a huge success. I will definitely be returning.

Nobody answers the phone to book an appointment

My hair is beautiful! This is a school so its going to take a lot more time than a normal salon and you need to understand that going in. I was there for about 3 hours for a highlight and cut/style. Rayna was really nice and wasnt afraid to ask her instructor for assistance when she wasnt sure about something. My cut was kind of complicated so I appreciate that she took the time to do it right. If you have a dont sweat the small stuff mentality and a few hours time, I highly recommend this salon. 😎

I was very happy - the salon is modern and sharp, the atmosphere was lively and energetic and the students are lovely. My daughter had a full head of highlights and a cut for about $70 and it looked amazing. It took hours - started at 5 and got out at ten, but that service would have cost a whole lot more anywhere else. It is a school, so patience and understanding are essential. If you want a difficult color or service, go to a real salon and pay a real price. Weve been several times now and its always been good.

I havent been to a salon in 15 years because I always get charged double due to my very long hair, so when I decided to cut half of it off & go dark, my daughter recommend Paul Mitchells school where she previously got a great cut. Today not only did I get a cut, color & style, but my daughter also got a color...total cost of $122....I would have paid $400 at a regular salon & the results would have been no better. The professionalism, the ambiance, the products & the skill level of the students surpass those of licensed stylists whove cut my daughters & husbands hair. Youre doing yourself a disfavor by passing this up for a more expensive salon.

I went for color. First off, I do not claim to know the techniques of going blond or the undertones thereof, but having gone through 2 sessions on a mission to achieve my dream color, 1 at Paul Mitchell in Indiana and Capri pivot point in Illinois I was in a happy place with my color half way through on my mission to achieve the blond in the photo of my model. Thinking I was going to go in Paul Mitchell in Vegas with this 3rd session to get even closer if not achieve the color on my journey...... WRONG. It was a set back like my color journey car was put in REVERSE. They took my hair darker back dark. My stylist and teacher were nice but I’m not happy at all with my hair dark hair color not at alllllll!!!! 🥵 not one bit. I’m very disappointed and will not be returning.UpdateOk two weeks later I must edit this review. Although originally my hair was taken to a darker level my highlights have lightened up since a couple of washes later and some sun and have really started to pop. They have grown on me and I might give Paul Mitchell another shot in the future. At first I was veeeerrry disappointed but maybe just maybe they know what they’re doing. I’ll keep you posted.

I got my hair cut by Brea yesterday. She did a great job! I feel like my hair is tricky because it is thick and curly, but Im pleased with the cut I got. She was very kind, she took time to listen to what I wanted and check my satisfaction as she went along, and she wasnt afraid to ask the instructor for guidance when she was faced with some new learning. Im glad I could provide a learning opportunity and get a great hair cut in the process. :)

Awesome school!! I attended academy an euphoria, for my cosmetology degree, decided needed a better school, one that actually knows what they are teaching. Wonderful school, great staff, students are determined to do their best. Just remember this is a school. We do our best an professors come an really help out.

Very happy with my Balayage results. My stylist was very careful and took her time to make sure my hair turned out perfectly. The supervisor was keeping an eye on the process and was very helpful and encouraging.

I have recently been going to Paul Mitchell to dye my hair, but this experience was amazing. I had the hairstylist named Robert and he had the best customer service Ive ever received! Ive experienced Aveda and Euphoria but nothing compares now to Paul Mitchell the School now that I had the experience with Robert. When I entered I was so indecisive about what color to dye my hair, and he took about a whole hour with me figuring out what would best suit me. I didnt want to go darker but Robert reassured me that a 5RB would look great on me. I was very nervous in the beginning; however, throughout the whole visit he spoke to me to keep my mind distracted. I felt as if we have been friends forever! I was offered some condiments such as food and water and was given so when I was waiting thirty minutes for the dye to sink into my hair. Robert made my experience at Paul Mitchell the best, I was even convinced to buy some products from Paul Mitchell. If you plan to visit Paul Mitchell for a hair color, I suggest to go to Robert, he is amazing at keeping a conversation going and making you feel relaxed- didnt even feel like a student; good job instructors at Paul Mitchell the School for turning your students into professionals and thank you so much Robert for making me fall in love with my hair! I love the outcome and cant wait to come back for another experience.

Nice enough hair salon for someone whos not too picky about their hair. Id call it a step above places like Great Clips. Call early to set an appointment, as Ive found that after 12 pm youre on hold for 6 mins or more before having the front desk pick up and help you.

I had my haircut a few months ago- just haven’t gotten around to reviewing yet. While making my appointment via phone, I asked for phase 2. I get there for my appointment, it’s a phase 1 student. I had a basic triangle one length and wanted it to be a square on length (all the same length). The instructor did NOT check my cut properly, and 2 hours later, I just wanted to go home. My hairstylist is now looking at my cut. It’s still a triangle one length, and the layers are horrid. Spend your money elsewhere.

Just had a horrible experience. I walk in drove a half hour to get there for them to tell me that they had a last-minute guest speaker and couldnt cut my hair. Manager wasnt very nice didnt really show any sympathy. They even sent me a text the night before to confirm and I confirm my appointment for the morning I showed up for no service. Didnt like the manager whatsoever was not helpful and I will never be coming to the Paul Mitchell school ever again. Dont even waste your time. I wish I could give zero Stars they dont even deserve one

This school accommodates your daily life and understands that we have work so they have evening classes as well as day classes. And everyone there are fun to work with and being NICE is their policy.

People are friendly but I entered the place at 2:30pm. I didnt leave until 4:45pm. Asked for simple round cut layers but ended up with only 4 inches off for base length and ONE layer. It usually takes 15-30 mins whenever I go to a Great Clips. Kinda eh with the haircut but people are friendly and lively in there. If you have a lot of patience and dont mind spending 200% more time than your usual haircut then give it a try

The hair stylists (students) can only do what is asked from the client if its approved by the instructor. When my hair color didnt come out the right color I wanted, my hair stylists felt like she could fix it if she used another product. I was willing to let her especially when she asked another instructor if it wouldve been a good idea and he said yes, and that it wouldve been the product he wouldve used in the first place. He then asked why it wasnt used in the first place and my stylist told him it was bc the female instructor told her to use a different brand. But when she asked her own instructor if she can approve it the female instructor she said no, it looks great. I was not happy.

My daughter wanted to attend the school but after calling and emailing several times no one would return her call/emails so she contacted the Academy of hair Design, they called back within minutes. booked a tour, we went and they were very professional, friendly and well organized. Shame Shame Paul Mitchel school, you lost out on a student!

People dont forget it is a school. I usually dont post reviews, but I had a great experience with my stylist today!!! The atmosphere is great, the student Lauren did a great job in picking out and matching to my existing color. Another student came up and asked to help. Lauren didnt mind sharing my head, lol. I love team work, both girls did great for being there only 4 months. Washing out my color was very soothing and relaxing, one girl shampooed my hair and the other conditioned it. Both very pleasant. Job well done. I made another appointment , defenatly coming back.

My issue isnt with the students, its with the professionals theyre learning from. I went to Paul Mitchell the School to get a cut, and a color, the color should have been extremely easy, my hair was blonde, and I just wanted an all over brown applied. I new the student personally, and thats why I went, and she had her formula planned but then Emily- one of the instructors told her no, and that she needed to change it to an ash based color. I should have spoke up and said no, but I just assumed the instructor knew what she was doing, I heard the student trying to convince her otherwise, but in the end, the instructor won and I left with what looked like ash brown hair, until you looked at it under light, then suddenly there were a million strands of green. As soon as I washed it, my hair was entirely green. I expect students to have mix ups, and honestly, I would have been less mad had it been the students fault, but EMILY- is an instructor, she is teaching these girls how to do hair, and shes not doing it correctly. I now wont go back there for even so much as a hair cut. The student brought in pictures to other instructors to show them what happened and nothing was done to help me fix it, the instructors didnt even reach out, I instead got to have a color correction done elsewhere.

This place is horrible. Horrible service and the lady with pink hair was so rude to me. I would rather give my money to a stripper then give it to them. I absolutely hate this place and I will never go back to this place.

My 17 year old daughter had an appointment this past Saturday, with Alexis and the instructor Meredith. She wanted the bottom of her hair colored gray. (Her hair is brown, and the bottom was a gold color after being bleached a few months back)Meredith assured her that this could be accomplished because she had done this same color on another client last week. Mind you, my daughter saved her money for this, and wanted this done before her big 18th bday on Friday, April 17.MY DAUGHTER WALKED OUT OF THE SALON WITH GREEN HAIR!!! And Meredith told her not to worry, that it looked really nice!! FIRST OF ALL, GREEN IS NOT THE COLOR SHE ASKED FOR!!!! Nice or not....I did not send my daughter there okaying GREEN hair.So I called the school yesterday and asked about fixing this. The girl that answered the phone said that we can come in on Wed (tomorrow) and they can attempt to color it gray again...and if it doesnt work then there is nothing they can do. .She also said if there is a chance that the instructor thinks this wont work before attempting to fix this, then basically TOO BAD, THEY WONT EVEN TRY TO CORRECT THIS, OR REFUND HER MONEY. I even asked if they could please just color her back to brown, and she said of course they can, BUT WE HAVE TO PAY THE FULL PRICE OF A COLOR...WHICH IS MORE THAN $50!!!I get it that these are students....but A JACKED UP JOB, IS A JACKED UP JOB, PERIOD!!!! Come on Paul Mitchell, youre going to screw up a high school kids hair and CHARGE HER $50!!!! What happened to DOING THE RIGHT THING?? Or just being GOOD PEOPLE?? Shes a high school KID!!!! And extremely embarrassed by this!!!I am deeply disappointed in what has happened to my daughter, and even more upset that there is not a policy that says IF WE TURN YOUR HAIR GREEN, THEN YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY!!! At least she could have used her money to color her hair back to its natural color.STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!

Set up an appointment a week ago. No one contacted us to tell us it wouldnt be possible, ended up driving over and wasting our time to get a blank stare from the front desk saying we should have called when we alrrady emailed. I would never come here again.

IT WAS HORRIBLE. I asked to TRIM my hair, 2 hours later after i measured 2 inches were cut off, the hairstyle i asked for wasnt even close! they clearly do not know what blunt vs layered means. it took 3 people to work on me each cutting more and more each time. finally i just said it looks fine and walked out. one side is longer than the other. nothing is even. This is the second time going with such a horrible experience. Do not ask for amanda. she clearly knows nothing about hair

Terrible. Ripoff. Will never go back. l had color done and the advanced student was not very forthcoming. I asked what she thought about the color and there was no reaction. I should have asked to speak with a supervisor to check. The process was very slow, over three hours. I had an $18 Groupon. After giving her a tip, we went to the front desk to check out and the cashier said $58. I said for what? She said, You had three bowls of color. I objected, saying that their normal price without Groupon was $30. No one advised me that you had to pay for extra bowls. I have shoulder length hair, not even very long. I wound up paying an $24 in addition to my Groupon. And I am very unhappy with the color. It is much too dark.I also found the experience of washing my hair very uncomfortable. For being touted such a great school, where they rake in tons of money from their students and the clinic patrons, you would think they would invest in comfortable chairs and sinks. I thought my lower back and neck were going to break!Before moving to Las Vegas, I lived in Asheville, N.C. where they had a State of the Art Beauty School and Spa. The instructors and the students were wonderful, caring and competent. And for $20 you got a color, cut and styling amidst a very comfortable atmosphere.If I could give it negative one star, I would!

This was the single worst highlighting and cut experience of my entire life! I asked them to add gray to my hair (since nature is heading that way) and I ended up with blonde highlights ... I even had a large glob of solid blonde just above my eyes, not a very subtle highlighting job. I wear my hair shoulder length, cut straight across and they even managed to screw that up. My hair was a full inch shorter on one side than the other. I understand that these are students, but my results were just awful! I went back 8 weeks later (yesterday) to have them remove the highlights, re-dye to my natural color (no gray this time) and level out the cut. Ive learned a very painful lesson and will NEVER go back to this place. The students are NOT well supervised. I should have realized what I was in for just by looking at the students haircuts and hair colors ... one had green hair and another had purple. This is not a place for a mature woman to get her hair done under ANY circumstances. Stay away. Go someplace else and pay full price, youll be much happier and much wiser than me.

The professional instructors dont have a clue!!! Went for a color, trim and flat iron...started around 1030 am...didnt leave until after 4pm. Had to end up getting my semi-color redone to permanent (which was suggested by the student in the beginning anyway) because the instructor told her otherwise. Smh...my first and last time coming here!! Actually left feeling bad for the student that did my hair because you have this person teaching & guiding you...but all in the wrong direction.

As a student this school took my dream away for one our core teacher seem races always making races jokes about how only blacks where fake hair or just showing favoritism to her on kind second when we would ask question about what we didnt understand she would stomp her feet and yell with aggression guuuyzz i started being less interested i started to come less eventually i dropped so i can start over i come back after a few months i ask the learning leader im supposed to be setting in with like what do i do she gives me a paper for boxes and a schedule basically on tuesday and Wednesday we are on the floor {i dont get clients yet} and thursday friday we are in a class and send me on my way so its tuesday my first day back i have no direction just the hours im there i need to figure something out i do the chapter that my level is on i do an updo on my mannequin i then go look for my learning leader i happen to see my core teacher although i really dislike her i ask her nicely can u please sign my boxes i show her what i did she responds with an attitude when did u do this at that moment i felt so ughh Ive been in this room for a while mind you i was alone she sign in walks out then im just board nothing to do still have 5 hours to goI then go sit in my car i get out after a few min i go tell a learning leader i feel discourage in cosmo and that PM have no structure. i go to the class on thursday what the class is working on has nothing to do with the boxes i have to fill in so again waste of my time 20thousanddollars to walk around and find my own way is so not worth it they need to offer more after they let a student return from a leave to get settled inI have not went back to school cause i feel like its a waste of time to be walking around with nothing to do and no structure if i have to just figure out what i have on my boxes i might as well sit at home and do them since theres no teacher teaching me anyhow again 20.000 is waaaay to much money to have to pay back

I would rather give my money to a homeless person then refer anyone here. My daughter went to the Paul Mitchell School Las Vegas location on Eastern in Henderson. She had intentionally gone in requesting an ombre, and being her father, I was extremely skeptical on letting her even dye her hair, but I decided to let her grow up a bit and do so. She came back home with her entire head blonde, and in tears. I have never seen her so upset in her life. I will never suggest ANYONE to go here. My daughter said the girls were standing around and gossiping and doing absolutely nothing, what a waste.

School is a joke because of lack of management! Students are great but are lacking professional management.

This is the worst place, my hair cut is horrible asked for a medium length bob and i ended up with a chin length bob. Person doing my hair didnt communicate anything and people assisting her were no where to be found and she was completing confused as to what she was doing. ZERO STARS
