Very nice magnet high school.One of the best schools in Las Vegas

Cant wait to go here. The only thing Im REALLY disappointed about is that they are taking away Media Communication. That is my passion and I was really excited about taking that course. :/

08/10/19Very poor parent communication. School starts in two days and we still dont have any information about where our students are supposed to go. At freshman orientation we were told we could pay fees and when it came time, they had stopped taking money because it was lunch time for them. We had to get pretty vocal before they decided to reopen the bank.I hope the it gets better, otherwise it will be a LONG 4 years!10/08/19Things have gotten better. Still not the best from admin, but at least the teachers are great with communication.12/17/19Still EXTREMELY POOR communication for admin. You know you have this thing called Parent Link for a reason!!You use it when you want money, surveys, or open house. Why cant you use it to notify us of schedule times for finals, to let us know there are make up times available, or when there are other important information?Teachers are OUTSTANDING!!!

This school is super neat!! i like the atmosphere and the environment a lot. i havent been here for very long so my opinion isnt too accurate, but i really enjoy being here! its a great place to challenge yourself. :)

Great school!

This school has caused me more strife and suffering than I can begin to describe. Nothing you do or say to any staff member will ever be paid attention to, and lots of the teachers, especially Burton, actively set you up to fail. The admin is more obsessed with keeping a high rating in one of the worst districts in the country than it is in actually teaching you anything. They can and will actively make you despise learning, and their incompetence will make you suffer through overly difficult classes you never signed up for.For the love of all that is holy, do not apply to, or make your child apply to this awful excuse for an academic institution.

Thank you NWCTA for hosting “Bring Your Parents to School!” I loved experiencing my child’s typical day. The teachers and students were great. It was fun trying to keep up academically. I look forward to next year!Thanks!

Ive been attending this school for almost 3 years now, and it has been an amazing experience. The work load is manageable and the teachers give you the attention you need only if you are willing to seek it. If a challenge is what you are looking for, Northwest is a great one.

This school is phenomenal and I would recommend it to anyone going into high school because it really beats regular high school by far and is a great experience for anyone looking for a higher education. Im a sophomore going into junior year and wouldt trade this for anything because its great environment and a excellent place to learn with our program areas you are set to succeed in life and I wish I could have this kind of experience in elementary and middle schools because its a great education and best part colleges love it. Im really going to miss it when I graduate because This is the only school that Ive taken pride in and enjoyed all the way though. I highly recommend it for anyone that wants a better education from there high school career.

I have gone here for 2 years and it was the best experience of my life. All the students are very nice and will help you if you need it and every one is super sweet even though others dont think that.

Nwcta likes to brush things under the rug. When shiz goes down they dust it off like its nothing putting their kids life in danger. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

I have gone to Northwest for 3 years now, and every time I think of leaving, a tear comes to my eye. Northwest and its inhabitants have taught me, not only academically, but has grown me socially. The overall tone of Northwest is warm and inviting; there is always someone for everyone. Due to the large student count there is a plethora of opportunities to make friends, join clubs, and do community outreach. There is no limit to your growth here at Northwest. Reading through the comments, those who rated a 1 or 2 star are students who do not like to abide by the rules. I do not appreciate people speaking about an optional school like these comments portray, because no one HAS to go here. Everyone applies, meaning they want to go here; that not only raises the level of work ethic of students as a whole, but inspires competition among students to do their best. If college is as amazing as Northwest, then it would be the second best thing that would take place in my life, because the first was experiencing my high school journey here. The programs keep improving and expanding, giving students even greater opportunities to get ahead in college and in the workforce. I hope most students would find it a privilege to go to the 4th highest ranked high school out of 125 in Nevada, and even more so the 1,239 in the NATION! The AP programs that, at this time, 40% of the student body participates in, even furthers us and exhaults us in the eyes of most colleges... So apply, experience, and enjoy. GO HAWKS!

Dean didnt help me or stop the kid harassing me when I went there. Admin has always been kind of indifferent towards students.

I have been attending thisnschool for three months now and it is great! Everyone is there to help you succeed no one wants to see you fail. It is a great school with many opputunities

I am just starting high school and this school look like a great place for me to be and become who I want to be

I’m very concerned, because today I experienced the idea that this school prioritizes the holes in my sons jeans rather thank his education.My son accidentally took a pair of jeans that had holes on the pant leg. Although you could not see his skin through the holes, I received a call from a rude dean Ms. Karen Galindo that my son was in her office for the jeans. She proceeded to accuse me of needing money and not being able to afford a decent pair of jeans for my son. However, his jeans are not about needing money, they are styled that way due to the crazy fashion.I prioritize and focus on my sons education and all I asked was for him to stay in school and not miss class. Nonetheless, my son is at the school right now and I am already receiving notifications from campusportal about the work he is missingI ask to speak with the principal and my son can go to classes today but she will return my call tomorrowIt’s very sad I hope this school prioritize learning more than pants specially when they are not that badI have pictures to prove that

This school is really good for educational purposes, but can be extremely stressful and lacks sports and a good music program.Also I was class of 2020 and Admin was awful my entire hs career

An awesome school, and a great place to go to high school. Coming from a former student, its probably the best high school to go to in the valley.

Went to NWCTA all 4 years and it has been a AMAZING experience and has prepared me for college and life greatly.

The school counselors are quite disrespectful and rude and just made my experience here quite awful and leaves a bad taste in my mouth when I hear the name of the school. I dread coming here, I would rather be anywhere else and the other students make fun of me.
