I work here because I love working with kids, but I feel like there is not enough support for staff. The pay is a joke, they move you around without little regard to your situation, and even though the Learning facilitators try their best, there isnt enough adequate training in regards to Child Development or Behavior issues. This job should have higher qualifications than the bare minimum of over 18+ and GED/HS and should pay more.There is also lots of turnover and many sites in the South Region are severly understaffed. Favoritism and unprofessionalism are also big here.Operations and City Hall doesnt listen to Program Workers like they say they do.

I attend la’s best I think the staff are to Strick and they only do it for the money one of the coaches yelled at me because I had my phone out trying to learn Russian. The same coach yelled at a kid because they took out there water bottle and started drinking it ( we were outside when the sun was hot). It may seem like just this coach is being mean but basically all the coaches but one or just yells at us for the smallest things while they are just on there phone the majority of the time you can tell they just do it for the money and not for the kids. I am a kid at la’s best I am just writing my experience here because most kids don’t speak out to there parents about this stuff.

The coaches are extremely rude to the children, do not recommend :(

Not a great program for kids. The staff members were extremely rude and dont actually care for the children, its like they only do this for the money and to yell at kids. There was maybe 1 or 2 people that were actually good to the kids but everyone else needs to be removed or move on

They are not fit or properly trained to deal with children of different kinds of needs. Some teachers single out kids with behavior issues.

I apply 4 year ago one of staff treat disrecpect made feel bad the professional way to say things to person we have dont a place for You now feel like treat me like harassed me not professional at all trust me I will not sign my kids la best ever

The program is good but they are too strict, you have to take them out until 6:00 in summer and if it is before you have to sign and if you accumulate several you take the child out of the program, it is heavy for the children and for a parent too
