This place is awesome and love it however my negative review is because I quit my membership during the covid pandemic (which they said they they wouldn’t charge during). Now I have been noticing $10 holding charges each month during pandemic (yeah its still going on in LA) yet I havent been going to gym and just noticed this randomly going back multiple months without approval. I emailed them several months that i quit and remove my credit card. But these shady charges keep coming through. Shame that business practices get in the way of a great facility.

So we have been to two parties at this venue. Extremely organized really safe and my daughter who before she attended was scared to climb anything. As you can see from the photos girl power!!! Shines through in this venue. It appeals to all ages including Grandparents who stand around and supervise!!!! A real hit will be using it for my summer campers next year.

This gym has HUGE walls! We took my niece and nephew to Sender City where they had fun kids climbs, a ladder to an outcropping where you then jump to a punching bag a-lá Ninja Warrior, and a big metal slide that they drop you from. So much fun! For the adults, there is a nice, appropriately rated top-out boulder on the second story (!) And a lot more bouldering on the bottom floor. I didnt do any top roping or lead climbing, but that looked insane. We, unfortunately, had to leave in a hurry due to the children and forgot to get our discounted 5-punch card, though.

The staff here is excellent! Especially Felix! We came in trying to show my three year old nephew a good first climbing experience. He told me he takes his nephews climbing too and gave us a free guest pass to show our little guy around. Thanks again felix! And the entire staff is helpful here as well! Furthermore it’s just an amazing facility that has everything one would need including bouldering, top rope, lead walls, extensive training area, and a good square footage of general gym machines. Kids area is excellent

Came on a 3 day visit to LA and had to check out Sender One. This is the best climbing gym Ive gone to in the last 10yrs. I climb a lot in the Phoenix metro area and we have nothing that even compares. The 2-level bouldering area is solid fun and you can practice topping out on the second level. Theres a whole area dedicated to training with hang boards and campus boards. But the main and most fun feature is their 60+ ft walls for ropes. The rope area is excellent. You normally cant find walls this tall unless you climb outside. You will need a lead cert to fully enjoy it though, but still there are plenty of TR routes that are plenty tall. Theres also a workout area and daily yoga classes (comes with your day pass) and a crazy looking kid area that Id want to go in myself (gotta pay extra for that). The gym layout, natural lighting, and attention to details really make it very enjoyable. I ended up going back the next day.Price of day pass was pretty steep, but it was so much fun Im looking forward to coming back with my AZ climbing crew.

Loved Sender One LAX. I was in town for the holidays and wanted to get a day of climbing in. Sender One answered the call. The gym is huge, clean, boasts amenities (training wall, kids zone, sauna, boulder, lead, workout area, etc., etc), but above all else I have to commend Sender One on their friendly staff. We worked with Ken a bit and he was a real joy to interact with. Not something that I have experienced in other gyms as a visiting climber. Usually, the opposite actually. Ken on the other hand was tremendous. He toured us around the facility, hooked us up with gear, tested us and set us on our way all with a smile. Thank you Ken.Oh! And if youre a new climber they can help you find a partner. Seems like a great community there. The gym is expensive (like many). I believe that its $24 for a day pass, $7 more for gear OR $85 per month. But still a great experience. Enjoy.

Ive been a member here for almost a year and I can say this is a great place to climb! They set fun routes that have a good variety of styles. There are a fair amount of community events and the community itself is welcoming. The bouldering here is a definitely higher difficulty rating that other nearby gyms like cliffs and the top rope ratings are comparable.

Great rock gym! Feels like Chuck E Cheese— tons of fun and people everywhere. Excellent place to go if you don’t know anything about climbing! The staff are very helpful and are sure to correct you if they think you’re in danger of breaking one of the many safety rules. A great place for beginners indeed.Routes are often long, somewhat gymnastic, and have predictable movement patterns. Fight the burn! The rope routes don’t change too often (most seem to last 1-2 months), which is nice for those of us who travel but want to “get the send” before routes change! One downside though is the atrocious parking situation. Plan on circling the building numerous times, or get lucky. Apparently the $$$ membership doesn’t cover parking too...Can’t have it all I suppose!EDIT:The scene at this rock gym is better suited for entertainment and child bday parties than it is for outdoor training...If you’re serious about climbing and live in the area, read between the lines: this probably isn’t the gym for you. Unfortunately, it’s also probably your best option... for now.Or just go to LA Fitness! It’s certainly more affordable.

I have been climbing here for about 3 weeks now and its one of the best indoor climbing walls Ive been on. They have tons of well set routes for all levels, and the place is big enough where even if there is a lot of people there youll have no problem finding a route for yourself to climb.Their bouldering is very extensive and hold plenty of routes ranging from beginner to professional. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly if you have any questions or concerns regarding the facility.Overall I would recommend sender one to any of my climbing friends who want to get in a great indoor climb.

This gym is great if youre looking for roped climbing. If you want to boulder and come frequently, you might run out of routes (at your level) as the number of bouldering routes is small (at least compared to Cliffs of Id in Culver City, where I am a member). The facility is nice and they have a dedicated kids area, though it costs a fair amount. Unfortunately, kids under 12 do not climb for free, as they do at Cliffs of Id.

The first thing you see when entering the gym is striking lead wall, “the torch”, tall and overhanging - an excellent tool to build power-endurance. But that’s about all there is good about the gym while shortcomings are many, I’ll arrange them in the order of inconvenience they represent.1. Lack of parking. As of the end of July 2019, when a neighboring office told SenderOne to stop using and abusing their parking lot, you’re likely to find yourself driving around waiting for someone to depart. This is especially inconvenient in the evening - the busiest time and if you park in the street, which is also not easy, you’ll have to leave before 10pm if you don’t want to get a parking ticket.2. Plastic floor cover in climbing areas. It’s bad for two reasons: leaves all the dust hanging in the air and gets the soles of your feet black, even if you’re wearing flip-flops. This plastic cover is the main reason why you end your day coughing out gray goo while trying to get your feet clean. Gyms that use carpet in climbing areas are way better in this sense.3. Poor bouldering walls and poor footholds in bouldering areas. The walls are short are the area is small, the combo that does not facilitate great training. And the footholds: dear route setters, in bouldering, plastic holds without a pronounced edge get polished within a couple of days turning routes into skating ground. How fun it is - to see your foot flying off a polished decal getting abrasions on your legs and busting your shoulder or a finger at the same time!4. Stingy management. It shows in many details: all the prices are higher than anywhere else, shortage of locker room closets that will force you to change in your car (provided you managed to find parking), press and hold water taps in locker rooms and so on. Seriously, having to keep pressing that damn lever on water tap to wash your hands doesn’t feel right in the gym that charges $89 a month.

Im a member here and visit 2-3 times a week. The size of the facility, parking, and the accessibility are what make it stand out. One of the better rope gyms in the US (have visited 20+). Route setting is consistent in quality, and offers great grade spread on the lead walls. Lead sessions here almost feel like a day at the crag. Very happy to have this as a home gym.I think the boulder setting could be improved. Embracing volumes would enhance the setters ability to create diversity of movement, and trend away from a focus on difficulty through power - toward difficulty through complexity. The grade spread seems off, too. In sum: its not bad by any means, but somewhat repetive and, overall, a far cry from world class. I get a lot more from boulder sessions in many other gyms Ive been to.

I go to a lot of climbing gyms. This place is very good. Largest indoor gym I think I have been in. Staff is awesome. Belay test was quick. Only things that they could make this place better would be a few auto belay for some laps and steam lineing the first time visitor process by having the orientation form autofill from the information from the waiver.Note for staff since they read the comments: All new waivers could be up for selection for an hour and the staff member could just choose from a list of names them the guest could initial and sign ad they do now but without having to enter the same information twice. Should be a simple change to make.

Finally got to cross this off my bucket list. Although I may have found a new hobby. Took the hour session Intro to climbing class. I would recommend everyone do so before starting out on the floor.I thought I could get away without taking this beginning class. Like how hard could it be to climb, but no, spend the money. They sometimes have a Groupon if youre tight on cash. The instructor will show you how to properly tie an 8/ fishermens knot, how to belay and other tips you will need to be safe while climbing. These are all life saving safety precautions, so please dont try to skip this session. After, the hour beginning session, they will allow you to climb with a partner at no time frame. Went with a friend and we took the hour session then stayed 3 hours more to climb. We had so much fun and tried some of the other levels.Other tips, I would suggest to get there 15/20 minutes early, as I went during a busy time, so it took about 5 minutes to find parking. There is parking located all around the building and on the street. You will also need time to sign a waiver and put on climbing shoes that they provided as part of that fee.One more thing, loved the staff and the instructor. All very nice! The instructor was very attentive, upbeat and made sure we properly were retaining the material before he let us climb on our own.Would recommend this class to all and cant wait to go back and climb!
