We love Bloom! As with any kind of school, one thing I look for is whether it fosters a love of learning and Bloom most definitely checks that box. My older daughter has been coming here since she was 14 months old - she started as a super shy toddler in Teacher Kims Family Music class and has progressed through several different music and dance classes over the years. She is currently enrolled in Teacher Bens Music Fundamentals class and Teacher Christinas Hip Hop class. Shes very engaged in class and has a blast every week. She recently asked if she could start taking ukulele lessons and is showing interest in other instruments. I tend to think that when learning is self-directed, its for life. :) She just finished 2 wonderful weeks of the Beatles Summer Camp - she built instruments, sang song, danced, made new friends, and came home every day to rave about it all. We got my younger daughter started before she could walk, but COVID hit so we had to take a short break. Shes currently enrolled in Family Music and Dance and she absolutely loves it. Both my girls are looking forward to many more years of music making and dancing here! They are also great about COVID protocols and I have no hesitations sending my kids to class every week!

My daughter had a blast at Summer Camp as well as her normal weekly music classes here! Great, friendly staff that I feel safe leaving my daughter with during summer camp knowing shes being well taken care of and safe.

Our second child just outgrew Bloom School. We have been with them probably close to when they first opened doors in that tiny space on Eagle Rock Blvd. 2 boys accumulated maybe 15 years in total?I imagine thats all you need to know about what our family thinks about our experience with Laura & Dave & Everybody who was teaching them over the years.

I am a music educator myself, and, full disclosure, I actually worked for the owners of Bloom years ago when Bloom was new on the block and before I had my own private practice. I feel that my experience with the owners, Laura and Dave Porter, makes me even better prepared to speak candidly about this wonderful place and it’s fearless leaders.Because we are currently social distancing and unable to experience the joy of actually being in the space on Colorado Blvd in Eagle Rock, I won’t speak as much to its warmth but rather to that of the uniquely gifted teachers that Laura and Dave have attracted to their space, all of whom, are gratefully continuing their teaching practices via Zoom. Even with distance learning, my kid gets lit up every week when she jumps online with her piano teacher, Jen!I chose Bloom years ago for my now teenage daughter. At this point, she has been a student of Bloom teachers half her life studying piano, guitar and cello. I cant help thinking that her continued commitment to all three instruments is, at least in part, a result of the extraordinary engagement of these very special teachers led by very special owners.Laura and Dave are brilliant and accomplished musicians that take music education very seriously while, at the same time, manage to maintain how important it is for kids to cultivate a love for music. I feel unbelievably fortunate to have walked through their doors so many years ago and am only too happy to sing their praises!See what I did there;)

I encountered Bloom School two years ago while searching online for secular/non-religious music schools for my daughter and have been thankful to discover them every week since. Weve tried many classes here, both in music and dance, and I have had the opportunity to watch my child grow both in varying interests and in maturity along the way. I enjoy how well organized and attentive the front desk staff are, as well as how flexible the school is with makeups and how fluidly they allow us to move around and try different classes if needed. Even the dance recital this year was low stress! I especially like the schools philosophy of not forcing an instrument on a child before (s)he is developmentally ready and interested. (The younger they start, the younger they quit!) As a result, my childs interest in various music and dance subjects has blossomed of its own accord and she gets to keep that zeal which I worried we had lost when we had pushed violin lessons on her several years ago. Finding a teacher at the school who we dont like is a rarity; they are all very kind and have been exceptionally patient through all of the developmental milestones. They also do special events like Pajama Parties and Parents Night Out a couple of times a year. Its rolling admission, so we can start and stop any time of the year and there is no age cap, so adults can take classes, too! (Which I do: guitar!) Thank you to all the Bloom School staff and instructors!! We are so grateful to be a part of this community.

I love this place. Teachers and staffs are so friendly and professional and caring. Comparing to other music schools, the prices are affordable.

I thought it would be impossible to find a music class for my 1 year old and my 2.5 year old but we found it. Blooms Family music class is such a joy for both of my children. The instructor has such clear age appropriate expectations and clearly puts so much work into the lesson plan. Before becoming a parent I worked in preschool and I have seen many different kids music programs. Bloom blows them all out of the water. My children are exposed to so many different genres in fund and creative ways. I highly recommend it !

They give you good training and excellent work out sessions.

Went to a friend’s birthday party there and it was amazing!! My 7 year old son doesn’t join new activities easily but the energy at Bloom was so happy and welcoming he surprised me and ran right in to the birthday party dance class! He had a blast! He loved it so much that afterwards he asked us he could go back for music lessons! Can’t wait to sign up for more good experiences there!!

A wonderful space for children to learn music and dance. We had my 7 years old unicorn birthday party at Bloom with a fun dance lesson for the kids while the parents watched on monitors. Laura and Dave are both very accommodating, and experienced musicians and teachers.Can’t wait to go back.

I cant imagine a better place for families to bring kids to learn music and dance. My son takes guitar and my daughter is in hip hop. They both started in the group classes for little ones. I really feel those classes made all the difference- hubby and I are NOT musical! We love Bloom- teachers, staff and other families too :)

An amazing place to take lessons. With committed and caring teachers, you are guaranteed to have an amazing musical experience. Would highly recommend!

Its an awesome school on so many levels. My daughter has been enjoying the Music Fundamentals: Pick an Instrument and, of all her extra curricular classes, looks forward to this one the most. Were a family that listens to a lot of NPR in the car rather than music, and its been great to see my child pick up rhythm and musical concepts so quickly given her somewhat limited exposure prior to the class. Shes making a lot more music now (and requesting it in the car thank you very much.) Before I picked Bloom, I was trying to decide whether to begin private piano, guitar or violin lessons - and I love that Bloom recommends that she have an opportunity to enjoy her age and try out a number of different instruments until she chooses what feels right and most excites her. (I started playing the piano when I was 5, along with my two older brothers, and we all quit eventually, so I think that giving her time to adapt to kindergarten and enjoy making music in a more active class setting is kinda perfect.) Im also impressed with everyone Ive met who works at Bloom and appreciate that classes are affordable and that its easy to make up a missed class. On a more selfish note, the school itself is gorgeous and spacious and the other parents have been very cool. Theres a Trader Joes and fabulous eateries and shops neighboring and nearby street parking has always been easy to score. I just wish it was closer! I live in Studio City but its worth the trek! Look forward to trying out a Kinderdance class, I hear those classes are fierce, too.

Owners Laura and Dave are terrific. Not only are they great musicians themselves, they know how to impart it to others. Bloom is a great place to go every week.
