Ashley taught us the first 2 days and was so sweet! Dakota taught us the last 3 days and still had so much to teach us! I love everyone’s different style of teaching. Definitely recommend this class!

JLS Makeup School is the BEST professional makeup school in the world. Julie Schiffer my instructor is so talented and professional. Our class went over every single look in complete detail which makes it very easy to learn. I traveled very far to come and take the course and it was worth every penny. The makeup kit we received was stocked with the most amazing makeup and the airbrush machine comes with the best makeup that gives super flawless skin. I loved JLS and will be coming back to do another course. The Masterclass is what I took and we even got booked on a movie. Very affordable and you get a lot for the money.

I attended JLS back in 2009, I was 21 y.o. and I do make up till this day! I loved the course and the diverse group I was in and Julie really helps you step by step on how to prepare you in the field. I will always remember this experience, i was so happy to see JLS is still up and running!

I had a great experience working with JLS. I went as a model for the makeup artists to practice on, and the woman who did my makeup (her name was Nada) and Julie, the instructor, did a great job with my makeup, making sure I liked it, and making me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. After my makeup was done, Julie took some amazing photographs of me which I get a copy of. The studio is adorable with a laid back, happy atmosphere. I cant wait to go again!

Jls is a great school to learn all you need to know in makeup artistry.I took an intensive course that lasted a whole week of learning about makeup, its application and techniques . It was money well spent and I ended up with a huge makeup kit, a certificate and a portfolio.I highly recommend to attend this school.

I took the JLS Pro Course one week intensive. Best decision Ive ever made. I got a fashionshow through the school in the fist week after I graduated. Not only was that so exciting because I work on many models from Elite modeling agency but I met a connection to work with actors from the Big Bang Theory. I Also worked on models from Christian Sirianos fall collection for his star studded LA Fashion event.

Love the make up that Ive gotten through JLS!! The brush set I have is vegan, not tested on animals and is awesome!!!Ive modeled for the JLS students a couple times and have gotten such great shots from it - one make up artist I booked for a short film shoot and Im obsessed with her, shes so good!! I took this class without knowing any makeup. I now do pro makeup on sets and on wealthy women in Beverly Hills. I learned alot about contouring the face.How to use different colors to make the eyes pop. How to shape eyebrows and make them fuller. The tricks are forever useful. I do commercials, photoshoots, and some celebrities. The instructors are very nice and friendly. They are very experienced with over 20 years experience working on movies, fashion shoots, and commercials. 🎬

My mom and I were looking for a makeup school and came across jls. I learned so much within the course. The instructors are very knowledgeable and professional. I love my airbrush kit and can’t wait to use it on my new clients. We did makeup for a photoshoot with real models and were able get the photos on a usb for my portfolio at the end. I went to JLS in 2013 and I thought it was a great program! I got a wonderful makeup kit fully stocked with hundreds of items that I use to this day doing freelance makeup.Julie was just a wonderful teacher and she was so sweet and helped me learn a lot. At the end of my week there we got to practice on some great models and I received excellent photos to use that are still included in my current portfolio. It was only a week long course but it felt like a family I didnt want to leave. I came all the way from Hawaii to take classes there.I do mostly wedding makeup and my brides look gorgeous thanks to the lessons I learned in beauty makeup from Julie at JLS. JLS inspired me. Julie took me to a new level of skill and I appreciate it everytime I see how beautiful my brides makeup looks. I heard about JLS all the way from Dubai. I attended JLS for a 2 week professional makeup course. 1st week was professional makeup, second week was airbrush, special effects, and portfolio.I loved the class. Learned everything i wanted to learn and more. The instructor Julie was very welcoming and patient, Since i was a complete beginner. The course includes an amazing makeup kit which included amazing brands like Too Faced, Kryolan, NYX, Smashbox and many more brands. I was able to build an amazing portfolio at the end of the course which really helped me.

I attended JLS in 2013 for the 5 week course. The environment was great! My kit was filled with nothing but goodies, Smashbox, urban decay, kryolan, etc.. The instructor was very specific with her teaching and helped out in every way. She was very thorough. I had an amazing experience. After graduating, I was booked to do a videoshoot and a photoshoot. Best experience ever.

Just finished the JLS Professional Makeup Master Class and it was Awesome! The pro kit that we had was stocked full of great makeup like Mac, Stila, Smashbox, Kroylan and the JLS Vegan Makeup Brushes. It also included an airbrush machine and Kroylan cosmetics. I love the airbrush it makes such a tremendous difference in the makeup. JLS booked me on a couple of payed fashion shoots while I was still in class. WE learned special effects in the advanced class like bullet holes and zombie movie makeup. I had checked out several other schools in Los Angeles and JLS was highly recommended and seemed to have the best reputation out of all of them. I decided to go to JLS. The professional photos that I got at the end was just the best. I can use them in my portfolio for future jobs in which JLS Makeup School had a couple lined up for me when I graduated. The instructors were so professional and very talented artists.

I went to this school thinking it would be a best fit for me since the price wasnt as high as other makeup school. So I singed up and I was promised every thing , from having a makeup kit with good quality makeup such as mac, urban decay , makeup forever ect.First day of class was the instructor Julie , another student and myself. We got our makeup kits with almost 15 iteams in them not to mention they werent even brand quality!!! I mean, its okay since we were learning but yet for the price of what we paid for I would have expected more makeup of some kind. Top it off we only got one set of makeup brushes that myself and the other student had to share! Really?? Who cheap are you not to afford more brushes for the students? As for the classes well Julie only shows you how to create a smokey eye and then walks to her office and just chills there while you try on your own to recreate the same look.Obviously she had no interest in her students but more in her $$ . The last week of class was horrible we had a so called photo shoot ! Super unorganized, the photographer took forever to take a good shot of the models! Once the photo shoot was over, Julie gives you a CD with all the imagines , none are edited and she doesnt even bother to go over them with you , or at least to tell you which ones would work great for your portfolio! ! And the certificate she hands to you is a JOKE! ! She doesnt put the date and signs it with a sharpie!!! Lmfao Im so embarrassed everytime I show it. So unprofessional & unorganized!My point is do your research really good before you get ripped off by this school or others out there. My best advice is stick to youtube!!! And youll learn to apply makeup as a pro. Im a pro. Makeup artist but this school didnt teach me half if what I know! So please be careful and dont waste your hard working money on this school!! Not worth it.

I was so excited to enroll as a student at JLS Makeup School after my friend took the course and is employed on Fox televisions hit show Modern Family and living her dream.On the first day of class I received the most beautiful and professionally equipped make-up kit Id ever seen! Everything from Mac including every shade of base for different skin tones, powder, eyeshadows,blush, lipsticks, eyeliners, lip pencils, and a fantastic set of pro brushes... to Laura Mercier, Stila, Urban Decay, and my personal favorite Bobbi Brown. the instructor got us so excited and interested and taught us so much. She was so hands on. We learned day and night looks, red carpet looks, smokey eyes, wedding looks, and looks for music videos. I especially loved learning how to use an airbrush and love my airbrush machine which came in my kit. It is so light and easy to use. We also learned how to apply makeup for photo shoots, fashion shoots , HD TV and movies. We also learned how to market ourselves after weve completed the course so we can get great jobs in the Industry. The school also offered me great leads and connections. My portfolio is fantastic.We got the chance to work on models from top agencies in Los Angeles .After only 9 months Im now working on a top T.V. show as a makeup artist. This course was everything and more than I could ever have asked for and the price was so reasonable in comparison to the other schools in Los Angeles.
