Took the foundation intensive with Lawrence and it was awesome! The content is great but even better is how much he emphasizes empathy, understanding the human experience, and living truthfully in every way. I plan to continue ongoing classes with him.

Just finished the Foundation Intensive with Lawrence, which was a fantastic experience and solid training ground for the long-term! A worthy investment indeed. Learned a great deal from his instruction and thoughtfully candid feedback, which pushed me to genuinely improve over the course and get over my nerves. I also really appreciate that as a teacher, he is both experienced in Hollywood and formally trained. Notably, his level of commitment and immense energy (and wit!) never seemed to wane throughout the entirety of each 4hr class, which was truly impressive! Very grateful for the course at Margie Haber!

It took me a long time to decide on which acting class I wanted to put my money and time towards. I started studying at the Margie Haber Studio in summer 2020- when we were all stuck in the first Covid summer.I was ever so happy to find out that the studio was offering zoom classes, since I would not have been able to attend in person classes!The studios philosophy is amazing. It makes acting feel very simply- without putting layers over layers on yourself to ‘become the character’ - But rather to start from a point of ‘who are you’.The studio really pushes me as an actress and makes me dive deep into the slices of lives of different people.Especially the teen classes with Tania Nolan are really great! I started with Tania in summer and I have attended her class ever since. (and I couldn’t be more grateful! ;)Tania is a teacher who exactly knows how to support her students to get them to the best level of acting. It is incredible to see how everyone in the class changed and developed as actors/actresses from the beginning of a month to the end.The Margie Haber Studio is definitely an enrichment, for both, experienced actors and newcomers to the industry!

Enrolling In Margies studio is literally one of the best choices I ever made I was so nervous at first but taking Lawrence foundation intensive class is such an amazing amazing experience He’s so knowledgeable and passionate about this craft In just a short time at the studio I improved so much ! Diane Charles is an absolute gem!!!! I had taken Lawrence Dwyers foundation class right before quarantine and really enjoyed the studio and my overall experience. So I was nervous about signing up for Diane’s Intermediate Intensive via zoom. BEST DECISION I’VE MADE. Diane picks diverse scripts, creates a safe/extremely comfortable environment for all students, and I can honestly say I left the class a better actor thanks to her patience, honest feedback and most importantly her love as well as knowledge of the craft. I truly have nothing but kind words for Diane as a teacher and human. THANK YOU DIANE!!!

This acting class was my first in a few years, and it made me so excited to be acting again! I took the foundational intensive class with Lawrence and he was amazing. Hes so supportive, informative, and kind, which breeds positivity in his class. Hes able to give great feedback thats truly tailored to each individuals slice theyre bringing to life. Classes have been on Zoom due to the pandemic, and although I was initially apprehensive about taking an acting class on Zoom, I have learned so much about acting and in addition, have learned about how to use this online platform for performance. I would recommend Margie Haber Studio to anyone looking for an acting class that is focused on living the life as a character, especially with classes taught by Lawrence!

I heard of this studio through a targeted fb ad. I decided to check it out because the words from Margie just spoke to me. I loved her philosophy and the focus on keeping the love and passion for this craft throughout the process. I think it’s a business that we can easily suffer from discouraging self talk.I signed up for the commercial audit class and also the intermediate intensive. I am in the middle of the commercial intensive with Annie now and about to finish the intermediate class with Diane and start on going classes with her as well.Wow! Wow wow wow! Both coaches are just wonderful. They are simultaneously encouraging and give specific feedback to up your game and skill. They have both been able to put into words what I need to work on to get to the next level. The slices (AKA scripts) are always modern and challenging. They really provide everything one needs to be able to grow. I feel safe to create and safe to accept constructive critiques. I am so happy I clicked on their ad.I look forward to my journey with the studio. So far it’s exceeded my expectations. And prior to discovering this studio, I have been fortunate enough to have excellent coaches. My expectations were quite high and they shattered them.

I took the foundation class and gained so much from it. It really helped demystify a lot of things, and provided a solid structure for bringing a character to life. Lawrence knew the material well, was well prepared or every class, and provided a lot of useful insight and info. I would recommend this class to anyone starting out or even interested in acting. I have been taking Margie Haber’s advanced teen class and private coaching with Hamish Sturgeon for almost two years now. The studio is beautiful and I love their philosophy of teaching. If youre thinking of whether to study at Margie Haber Studio or not, RUN dont walk!Ive heard great things about Margie Haber for years -- her studio is one of the top 5 acting studios in LA that everyone knows about. Ive studied at the other 4 so eventually after 10 years of hearing about her I decided to try it out. I wish I had tried her studio out sooner but glad I eventually wound up here regardless of when.In the beginning of the quarantine I found myself trying to figure out whether to take a zoom acting class or not. My current scene study class wasnt appealing to me on zoom for a variety of reasons. I had a close actor friend who had been studying with her pre-zoom and mentioned that even the zoom was great and a huge help. So I did her free audit, every Monday at 3pm by the way and then signed on up.The zoom acting class world was new and uncomfortable for me but I wanted to keep my craft sharp during this sudden down time. After taking the weekend with Margie I knew instantly I had to continue studying with her. And Ill tell you why...For starters, zoom -- lets be real, its going to be a new world when things open back up again and casting right now has moved entirely to zoom and self tapes. Taking her class on zoom, you get familiar working in that environment and find ways to be more creative in the digital world. Its been showing up already in my self-tapes!More importantly, Margie. I cant say enough great things about this woman and her wisdom. Her approach to acting is beautiful and reminds you of why you started in the first place, to have fun and play! She teaches more then just creating as she breaks down how to know yourself so deeply so you can really understand a character and how to live that life.And the most important take away, you get your power back. Her way of creating gets you out of your own way. I cant say how exhilarating it is to have your personal power back.I am very grateful for all I’ve been learning from Margie. It’s more than just acting, as her teaching has affected my life and this journey so profoundly.

After reading Margies book and listening to her online class, I just HAD to study at her studio. In January 2020, I went to LA to attend her free class and immediately put down a deposit to attend the April 2020 Two-Week Intensive (ISP)...I couldnt wait!! Then, COVID threw a wrench in those plans, and the intensive got pushed to August, then to December, and now its postponed until April 2021 -- a full year after I had hoped to attend. I was really disappointed, and I saw the studio started offering intensives via ZOOM but was really reluctant to take any of them because I wasnt sure how much Id get out of a purely online acting class, but then I finally decided I was tired of waiting on this seemingly never-ending pandemic to end for me to start studying at the studio. I signed up for a month-long intensive with Diane Charles and Will Gressman over ZOOM in October, and wow. I learned more than I ever thought possible through a computer!! The bonds our class has built with each other through the screen is pretty remarkable...and I know that when the pandemic is finally over, I have a community of wonderful actors and coaches that I will get to hug and celebrate life with in person -- all built through ZOOM. Pretty crazy!! If youve been wanting to study at MHS for a long time like me, or if you find yourself with extra time on your hands with the new work from home world we live in and want to try something new -- I would highly encourage you to give an online class through MHS a try. You will grow as an actor, learn more about yourself, and make long-lasting friendships with some incredible people.

I started at Margie Haber about 3 years ago and I cannot say enough good things. I came from 2 years training at a highly regarded comedy focused studio which was 2 parts fun and educational, 3 parts popularity contest, and 5 parts soul crushing. Needless to say, it wasn’t a place which fostered my creativity or allowed for comfortable exploration. Coming from that, Margie was exactly what I needed. After finishing the advanced class with Courtney, I did Margie’s weekend and have been in her ongoing classes since. My growth as an artist has been truly amazing. I no longer feel so tied to the results but instead have found joy in the process of creating and feel truly empowered. Margie helped build my spirit back up and remind me of the joy and play in acting. I’ve grown tremendously since studying with her and I look back on my past work with a laugh. Was it great? Nah. But it was a step in the process that led me to where I am now, and for that I celebrate my past failures and continue to love the process of creating and improving my art. Not only is Margie incredible, but I’ve found an awesome community of artists to collaborate with and build friendships with. I can’t say enough good things about this studio!

I took the virtual Intermediate Intensive with Diane Charles and it truly changed everything for me. It pushed me as an actor and human being in the best way possible. The foundations intensive course was my introductory experience to anything acting and I am so grateful that it was. I got to learn a lot from the instructor, Lawrence, whether it was through the lessons for the day or the feedback being given to other students and myself. Lawrence made class so much more worth it. Imagine working a 12 hour work shift and then going into class, youd want someone that can hold your attention and interest. I now have a better appreciation for acting and have started watching movies from a different perspective. Big shout out to the studio for honing my interest, thank you!

Ive been in Dianes class for almost a year now, and she is one of the most kind humans Ive ever met. This kindness definitely informs her coaching, as her redirects are always so personal and empathetic to the student in front of her - and very intuitive for knowing how to get the best (meaning most authentic) version of a student to show up. 2020 has been such a traumatic and challenging year in so many ways. In the midst of it all, these classes have provided a place of refuge for me - an unexpected gift of light and community...and creativity. Studying at MHS with Diane (and the wonderful Will on occasion) has not only positively impacted my work, but also my life. Margie Haber Studio is really incredible. I’m really thankful I was able to study acting for four years in college, but in all honesty I feel like it never really connected until I started taking classes here at the studio. The teachers are SO there for you and really meet every student where they’re at. I’ve grown so much as an actor and as a person here. I don’t know how I got so lucky to find a place so welcoming, genuine, brave, and supportive. (Probably because a bunch of friends recommended it to me and I trusted them!)So far I’ve only had the pleasure of working in class with Natalia and with Jim— and both of them have been such gifts. Not to mention the extensive amount of work, knowledge, and life experience they have to share! I am always amazed with how they create such safe environments for everyone that just feel human. And it’s a gift to have a place where I feel safe to make mistakes, to play, and to grow. This studio has been a game changer for me. I started with the Advanced Intensive with Robin Dale Meyers and ongoing classes with her before doing the Master weekend with Margie. What can I say- it is a truly incredible place to be. Margie is one of a kind. She works with a small group of actors so she can listen and work intimately with you to create specifically, deeply and creatively. And the thing is - her methods work! She takes you out of your head and gets you to live fully. Her weekend was such an intimate experience of growth, vulnerability and real time improvement that all of us participating could see happening in front of our eyes. I even did the master weekend on zoom and it was incredible. Robin is also an incredible teacher, I highly highly recommend. I already notice a huge difference after training here for a few months in how Im auditioning and booking jobs. Also the environment within the class is super supportive and helpful. I found a community of artists and friends. Feedback is real, but non-judgmental. I will be here for a long time!! For anyone looking to become a better actor and human, join this studio.

I absolutely adore Margie Haber. I took her weekend intensive back in January. My auditions completely did a 180, even my team notice how wonderful they became. Because of the pandemic, all of her ongoing classes are via zoom, which is fantastic because most industry auditions/callbacks/test/sessions are all via zoom! She has greatly prepared me to live the life while including my environment on zoom. I feel so comfortable on the platform. I recently coached with her, and just received an offer for the project. SHES DOPE!!

Recently took my first intensive with this studio and couldnt be more happy I did. It is so important to have a community to learn and grow with in a space that is supportive in that journey. Jim Nieb and Margie Haber studio made that possible. I feel more in tune with myself and therefore my skills as an actor. If you are just starting out or have been in the industry for a while these intensives will help you become better at auditioning, better at connecting to a slice, better at knowing yourself, and better a being an authentic actor.

Got one week left in my intensive with Jim Nieb and I am so glad I decided to take the class. As someone who did a lot of stage acting in school but never anything at the professional level, this class has been a fantastic way to learn on camera skills and improve my acting and confidence in general. After feeling like I had hit a plateau in college I now know that I am capable of so much more growth and I have the tools I need to make that happen. Jim is one of the best acting teachers I have ever had and I would recommend his class and Margies studio to anyone I know!

What a wonderful experience! I did Margies weekend master class intensive, and It was truly a life changing event. She really teaches you how to dig dip within yourself to let out your creative side. So much of acting is focusing on technical characters, which can be extremely stressful to actors. Margie teaches you how to use yourself!! This was such a wonderful, safe and super FUN place to start my acting classes! Margie is so kind and so are her teachers! Learning how to act (at 43😐) can be so overwhelming and intimidating. Thankfully I hit the jackpot with having Lawrence Dwyer as my teacher. He’s Patient, understanding and gives you many ways to learn the skill. We spent a lot of time searching for the right home for our daughters acting lessons in LA. With so many options to chose from, we decided to try out several different schools so that we would better understand what our needs were. We would find one school with excellent instruction, but the personalities just didnt click between her and the instructor. Wed find a school where she got along great with the instructor, but the class wasnt rigorous enough for her or the feedback wasnt as honest and helpful as she needed it to be. We even found a school that had both of those elements, but the community of students wasnt as serious about the craft as she wanted since she tends to feed off the energy around her. After a lot of trying out various schools, we finally found Margie Haber Studio and Hamish in particular. It was the perfect balance of all the things that we had learned were important in a good acting class for teens. The seriousness and rigor of the lessons, the way she trusts and feels comfortable with Hamish, and the supportive and seriousness of the other students in the class have really driven her forward in her acting and we could not be happier that we took the time to find the right home. When Covid shut everything down and everything went online, we expected that she would take a break from classes, but we decided to give the online zoom lessons a shot for a month just to see. it turns out that they were very thoughtful in how to transition to online learning and that she is excited each week or the online lessons as she was for the in person ones. We still cant wait to get back to in person, but you can be confident that even during this time you are getting one of the best online classes out there. If youre like us and have been searching for the right home, or something just feels not quite perfect about your kids existing classes, I highly recommend that you give the studio a shot. All of the instructors are amazing and you will get a chance to work with them all over time as they do cover for each other or bring in guest instructors to mix things up, but I cant recommend Hamish enough if you have the option to get into one of his classes. The relief we feel at finding the right home the the right coach is something I hope you all find in your search as well.

I really enjoyed taking the foundation class over zoom with lawrence dwyer! For the first time, I felt like I could break out of my shell and be more vulnerable while acting. Lawrence created such a safe environment for us to not be afraid to mess up and make a fool out of ourselves. So grateful to have taken this class!!

Margies virtual zoom classes have never been more pertinent. All of the same constructive feedback and supportive community but now with the added element of technology. Whether we like it or not, this is the future of auditions - the self tape. These new class formats give us an opportunity to adapt to this new frontier with confidence.

I’ve been in Margie’s class for 6 months since taking her intensive weekend last year. I think she truly has a gifted insight into the material and into individual actors. That, combined with her creative mind, honest caring for her students, and decades of experience in this business, makes her the best coach/teacher I’ve ever had the opportunity to study with (and over the course of my career, I have studied with quite a few). Margie is one of the greats. If you can get into her class, do it. Your work and your life will be forever changed in the best way.I also want to add that because of the COVID 19 quarantines currently in place, we started having class online via Zoom.us. I was a bit skeptical at first, but after experiencing it, I found it’s really not all that different than attending class in person. Margie’s teaching certainly isn’t diminished by it and neither is the quality of the work by students in the class. And I’ve found that the format provides a great opportunity to work on and refine my self taping skills.

I heard about the Margie Haber Studio several time in Wendy Alane Wright, a Hollywood talent managers YouTube videos and I knew I had to try this studios workshop. I did the foundation workshop with Lawrence Dwyer and Intermediate workshop with Natalia Castellanos. I enjoyed and learned a ton in both. Acting willing to take this business seriously and get the right guidance the start their career have to train with this studio and with these teachers. You will not just get all the tools you need to learn how to read a scene, prepare and create your characters life but youll also know what you need and what to avoid moving forward with your career. This studio sets a high standards for actors training and it will help you weed out all the bad advice given in this business. I highly recommend actors from all over the world to train with this studio they have great zoom workshops and it is definitely a must do if you really want to get into acting!

Absolutely love the staff and coaches at the Studio! Ive been attending for nearly a year, followed the curriculum put forth and just finished my Masters Weekend Intensive with Margie herself, which was AMAZING! Where to even start. I studied at Margie Haber back in 2015. I took Robin’s Intermediate Class. Back then, I had tons of confidence when it came to sports, acting not some much. I didn’t grow up doing theater or take any classes. I never had an audition, this was my first ever experience, and it was all so foreign to me. Six months after my move, I was told about this studio, and I’m so thankful I was.Robin created a safe space for me and allowed me to find my voice. I returned back to the studio this year, 2020, for Robin’s Advance Intensive. Stepping into her class was like coming home. Words that stuck with my over the last five years came to life again as I created, explored, imagined, and all over again, found a sense of confidence through being vulnerable. Which sounds contradictory, but it works, and it’s so beautiful. Robin creates an environment where you get to fully step into this life you’re living, making it beautifully messy, authentic, rich in who they are, and allowing yourself to dig deep. And, most importantly to play and have fun. I absolutely love the Margie Haber Studio. Ive just completed the Foundation Intensive and am already signed up for the ongoing classes. My experience with Lawrence as a teacher has been really enjoyable and enlightening. I genuinely love going to class and look forward to a long relationship with the studio :)

I just completed the Intermediate Intensive Zoom class with Diane Charles and immediately rushed to sign up for the continuing class. It was such an amazing experience - I could actually sense the difference in my performance, even if they were baby steps. Diane creates a safe space and is incredibly insightful and intuitive in her guidance. She gives you the tools to become a better actor but it so much more than that. She has a way of contextualizing the tools in a way that was understandable and relatable. She also has a way of making you comfortable which allows you to dig even deeper, helping break down walls I never knew I had. Any misgivings about a virtual class immediately went out the window. It felt intimate and focused. I cant recommend Margie Haber Studio enough! I look forward to continued growth with MHS.

I just completed the Master Intensive this weekend, and let me say...whoa! I had so, so many people recommend this studio by word of mouth that I felt like Id be wrong not take some classes here. I ended up taking the Advanced Intensive with Robin Dale Meyers AND the Master Intensive with Margie Haber herself.Im glad I initially took the 4-week Advanced Intensive with Robin Dale Meyers, because it really set the frame work for me. The philosophy at Margie Haber Studio is that in acting, you set up all this mental framework of yourself as the actor with thoughts about choices, tones, blocking, etc., and then youre playing the character and youre in a scene and blah blah blah...and thats not good. Why? Because now youre head is all over the place, and youve taken yourself out of simply being a human being. Admittedly, I felt like, Boy, this class oversimplifies acting, because they said things like, Just be in your body! Over time, I realized *I* had actually over complicated acting. It was hard to just be in my body because I had to overhaul so much junk that kept me in my head, and the result? I felt things, I remembered things, and I reacted to things as a person, except when the slice of life (their term for what others might call scene) ended, I realized Id stopped being myself through all that for a couple of minutes. Have I mastered the ability to falling into being another person? Not yet, but I know what Im aiming for, and sometimes I hit it now.So of course, I had to take Margie Habers Master Intensive. Geez, Im glad I did. She is such a compassionate teacher. She really goes out of her way to make a connection with each student, and she gets you in touch with your vulnerability because, as she sees it, people who are victims in themselves often try to protect those parts of themselves for fear of being hurt. As such, theyre constantly trying to hide some part of themselves to prevent it from getting damaged, and this prevents you from giving yourself up to being whomever it is you need to be and truthfully being affected for your slice of life. Your character (sorry, Margie) has their own baggage, so how can you carry two peoples at once? This Intensive affected me as a person, and helped me understand what it meant to go from acting and living somebodys life.Mind you, there is *some* technical stuff taught in Margies class, but its important to note that its only taught when absolutely necessary, and for me, it validated the reason for some of the instructions. For example, how to hold the paper is quite technical, but eventually, it becomes natural, and you understand that its only so that youre not constantly bobbing your head up and down from the reader/casting director/etc. in a way that no real human being would ever do when holding a conversation!Long story short, highly recommend.

I recently completed Lawrence Dwyer’s Foundation Intensive Zoom class and was very impressed. I was skeptical about taking a zoom class with a bunch of people I didn’t know, having never acted before, but Lawrence put everyone at ease within five minutes of being in class. Lawrence was professional and knew how to take control of the “room” without making anyone feel out of place. The class was such a fun place to grow, learn and share the most intimate pieces of ourselves as actors and creators. For the past weeks, I’ve started a new online intensive class @margiehaberstudio with @diane.charles and I am falling in love with acting all over again. Our business is tough. Being an artist can be painful and since I moved to Los Angeles, I felt like I lost myself a bit. Living in a new country is scary. And when you feel scared, it’s difficult to be vulnerable and to take risks, which you need to be creative. I am hypersensitive and when I became an actress I could finally use that “superpower”, that I had carried as a burden for too long. I am so excited to learn a new method based on the creation of emotional memories, because it feels like home. Diane creates a safe space for us to shine and I value that immensely. Thank you.

I started taking classes with Hamish on Zoom and have learned so much in such a short amount of time! There is a huge emphasis on creativity, a supportive environment, and having fun. These classes have been transformative for me!!

This studio and in particular my teacher, Diane, have changed the way I look at scripts (or as it is called at the studio, slices) in a whole new way. When a script is called a slice, what is being said is, that script is a slice of someone’s life. Scenes, characters, and monologues have become humanized for me. They are now more than just words on a page. Diane has helped me get to know who I truly am and what has truly been holding me back. I can’t wait to start my ongoing classes! I’m so grateful I signed up for a class at Margie’s Acting Studio. What they teach and the way Diane taught us, has ruined all future acting classes for me. Lol. Now onto the Ongoings!

I love it here. Ive trained with both Margie and Jim Neib. They embrace a very liberating and imaginative way of creating the life of the characters. It keeps things fun and prevents me from getting stuck in my head. The environment is very supportive and fun.

I have been a student at Margie Haber Studio for almost 2 years.This is - hands down - the best acting studio in LA (I have attended several other acting schools in LA as well). It is more than a great acting school - it is a loving, wonderful community as well. There are SO MANY things that I am grateful for from attending this studio. I have made so many friends in my small-sized classes and I look up to all of the instructors.The best part about this community are the teachers. I love the MHS for many reasons which I could write out into many paragraphs in great detail. But I know that you may be like me and just want to cut to the chase, so I’ll do it in one.I took the foundations intensive class via Zoom this summer and it was better than I expected. WAY better! We worked on a “slice” every week and learned the Margie Haber (MH) technique over the 6 weeks. It was a small intimate class led by a great trainer, Lawrence, who made the 4 hour class fun, inviting, comfortable, and engaging. I would highly recommend this studio to others who are really looking to improve not only their acting skills, but also their auditioning skills. Because after all, that seems to be the hardest part right?

I took DIanes intermediate intensive during March and I was extremely happy with the class. I had been out of class for about a year and I wanted an on camera class, this was exactly what I was looking for. The tools and help given were very useful and Diane was a wonderful teacher, she tailored the work specific to the individual and her insight and understanding took me by surprise. When the world is more stable I intend on taking her class agin.

Margie is the master for a reason. I just took her weekend intensive and it has really transformed the way I look at acting. She works on such a deep, personal level with all of her students and gave me the tools Ive been searching for. The atmosphere of the studio is warm and inviting, yet rigorous. Ive also taken from Robin at the studio and she is wonderful as well. I highly recommend!!

I took the intermediate intensive with Diane Charles and it was amazing. She gives all her energy to each student. Her approach on developing/prepping a character helped me very much to portray more complete/interesting qualities. Great teacher, even greater person. Would highly recommend.

I just completed Foundation Intensive via Zoom. This was my first acting class, and I enjoyed every minute of it! Our acting coach/instructor, Lawrence Dwyer, is very knowledgeable and high-spirited. He is very generous in sharing his knowledge and experience. I learned a lot, and I look forward to enrolling in the Intermediate Intensive!

Seriously one of the best acting studios out there! I started classes right before the COVID shutdown happened in March and was super bummed that we could no longer hold classes. Margie Haber Studio didn’t let COVID stop them, they jumped on Zoom to hold classes. I was definitely weary at first but Zoom classes work! I’ve grown so much as an actor, have built up my confidence and have met some amazing actors. Highly Highly Highly recommend Diane Charles’ on-going class as well as their newer Commercial Intensive Workshop with Annie Karstens. Both amazing classes with even more amazing teachers, that have heaps of experience and love that they wanna share with us! Definitely check it out!

Just finished up the beginners foundation intensive with Teacher Lawrence. Highly recommended acting teacher and studio. Overall it was a great experience for me as I was able to learn and grasp what it takes to be an actor. Take a course under Lawrence and I promise after a month time you will have grown in many aspects as an actor.

Quickly into the first session of the intermediate intensive with Natalia I realized that not only will this process grow me in my art, but it’s going to make me a better person as well as we grow in empathy for ourselves, the characters were inhabiting, and the people around us. Natalia holds our hopes and dreams so delicately in her hands while she pushes us to be more honest in our work. She stays late, gives dedicated attention to each of us as individuals, and celebrates what makes us each unique. I have language now to talk about my craft, my love, my passion. Ive signed up for ongoing and cant wait to see where Im at at the end of the month.

I have been taking classes at the Margie Haber studio for the last 5 months. They offer a free orientation class that you can sign up for on their website. I highly recommend this. Margie facilitates this class and gives you an idea of what to expect and her philosophy of the studio. It was a great match for me so I signed up for the Foundation classes. The foundation class was great and gave me the confidence to start doing auditions in front of the camera. They will provide you with slices (sides) and you will work on them together and then perform your audition in front of the camera. You will watch the footage as a class and the instructor will provide feedback. The environment is great. I am now currently taking the on-going sessions (like a gym) to keep practicing my skills. I will be continuing at the studio with the next level of classes. Ill update this review as needed but currently I highly recommend!

I completed the weekend intensive with Margie and it was uplifting, informative, emotional and inspiring! Margie is a fantastic instructor and a caring person. The environment was supportive, safe and challenging. I am continuing to learn about myself and my craft and how to trust the work I have done and that I am enough. I plan to attend on-going classes and maintain my connection with this fabulous studio. My experience at Margie Habers Studio was phenomenal. I came into the studio with lots of insecurities, bad habits, and even a chip on my shoulder (having been working and training in this town for years and years, gets rough out there). And I left the weekend intensive with a completely reinvigorated love for my craft. I came to the studio after dear friends said that I needed it, seriously, I think they were tired of me complaining about other training that tore me down to build me up (which never actually works, I just stayed down). So, on their advice I came to Margies. I am so, so glad I did. There is a love here for actors (creators:) that I havent felt in forever. And its like I was able to give myself permission to use my imagination again, which of course felt amazing. Margie is supportive in the best way possible - supportive of our authenticity, of ourselves as humans in a human experience, of our vulnerability as actors, and it was like I came out of the weekend unafraid. How amazing is that? I feel rooted in the positive rather than the negative, and I cannot wait for my next audition. Even though Ive been auditioning and working in this town for what seems like forever, I also learned more about how to behave in the audition room, which makes SO much sense to me now. I will continue training here and continue falling back in love with my craft. Cannot recommend enough.

One week into the Intensive with Natalia I felt my entire perspective of my art changing. A week later I had an audition and her voice/knowledge was in the back of my head and I walked into the room with the utmost confidence in the life I was living/creating. I booked the job a week later. Natalia is a passionate and truthful teacher and I couldnt ask for a better place to grow and cultivate my art.

3 years ago, I began taking classes at MHS and it changed not only my creative process but it also brought much needed change into my personal life. I consider Margie as a true life coach. I took Margie Habers one-day On-Camera Master Class in New York. What a transformative experience it was. Margies philosophy is exactly what I need to learn in order to move my life as an actor in the direction Ive always wanted it to go. Love this studio! Margies method really brings the fun back into the acting craft, even for the dramatic stuff, I highly recommend these acting classes for anyone who doesnt like or isnt comfortable the method of substituting their own experiences. Parking pro tip, it is WEHO so parking is difficult, try to come early if possible to snag a spot in one of the neighborhoods. Oh and if you can take classes with Diane Charles...DO IT! In my time at Margie Haber I’ve developed the confidence needed to be successful in every audition I walk into. The Tuesday night teen class is so much fun and has absolutely changed the way I go about creating. Hamish, as well as the other teachers at the studio are world class. Great school that really teaches you how to be a character. It’s not about acting with Margie’s school it’s about living the life. The teacher Lawrence Dwyer is very good at preparing you for getting into character and living the life. I suggest anyone take his course at this Margie’ studio.

I am recommending this class to all my actor friends that are auditioning. So many wonderful tools that they teach actors to help them find the character organically and showcasing a real human being rather than watching an actor act or seeing the work. After week 3 in class, I noticed that actors in class were already booking and then the next day I booked my first network show so I was like, I think were on to something here.

Oh My Gosh, Oh My Gosh-This Studio is the REAL DEAL!!! I had been looking for a studio that I wanted to begin my acting journey with, and from the moment I found the website, I was just in awe!! From the teaching philosophy of Margie Haber, to each profile/video of every teacher-they are Amazing!!, to the depth of what they teach, their online classes, and all of the inspiring videos on the website-I just went away truly smiling and couldn’t wait to sign up!!.....I just finished Foundation Intensive for Beginners with Lawrence Dwyer and it was SOOOOOO AWESOME!!!! Don’t let the word “Beginner” fool you because I walked away with So Much knowledge about acting-living the slice/life!, the industry, and just life in general. He has so much talent in his pinky finger alone, but he’s so down to earth and supportive at the same time!! Everyone just came in to do the work but it all started with Lawrence continuing to be honest about us about how we were living or not living slice but also being very supportive – I can not say that enough of just how Supportive and Honest Lawrence was at the same time. I feel my classmates and I felt that from Lawrence and then we were able to be free and just live the life!! Deciding to take classes at Margie Haber changed my life. I’ve really enjoyed participating in the Tuesday night Advanced class with Hamish, he has really helped me improve my skills and re define what acting is. I wouldn’t trade my Tuesday night for anything, I am always learning and laughing through the class. I would recommend Margie Haber to any actor who wants to enhance his or her skills and grow as a human.

I first heard of Margie when I read her book at drama school over ten years ago so I was thrilled to be accepted at the studio when I moved to LA. Thankfully it lived up to both the anticipation and reputation. Depending upon your level it is likely that you will study with another instructor before moving on to Margies weekend and then the opportunity to study with Margie herself. I began with the Intermediate Intensive with Eden Bernardy then moved into her ongoing classes, Margies weekend and now Margies ongoing. The support from teachers, students and office staff is amazing both in the classroom and for career development. Margie loves people and that is clear whenever you work with her or any of her instructors. The studio is a place where risk is encouraged and we learn to live the life to its fullest, not just as actors but as human beings.

Words cant express how fun and informative the Beginning Intensive class was. Lawrence Dwyer was my instructor and from the first class through to the last I learned SO MUCH. Lawrence is one of the most knowledgeable and authentic teachers Ive ever had a class with. He really breaks down the foundation of acting and has literally changed the way I view cinema. I take advanced acting classes with Jim Nieb and I have to say he is the most passionate, driven and thoughtful acting coach I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.He’s gone the extra mile and coached me sometimes over the phone for auditions when I couldn’t make it to the studio. He deeply cares about all of his students and it shows in our work.

I did Margies Intensive Weekend, and it was amazing. I learnt so much about being in the moment, living the life, and seeing each audition as an opportunity to create and be. I’ve been coming here for over a year now and it’s the best school in LA! Lawrence’s foundation class is great! It’s a comfortable safe place to create and experiment as an actor. They also offer self taping which is affordable, quick, and convenient.

Fantastic leading acting school with fantastic staff!How did I hear of Margie Habier Studios (MHS)? An acquaintance of mine booked a huge TV series, which I had also auditioned for. Given my ambitious nature, I research where she trained,; sure enough, MHS was listed.I then attended the Orientation (the free mini-class), and immediately liked Margies personality, as well as the curriculum structer Once I enrolled, I was pleased to learn that my teacher (the kind & caring Diane Charles) incorporates pyschology (emotional expression & feeling) into honing ones acting skills.
