I highly recommend Lissette as a teacher! I studied Spanish throughout high school but had forgotten much of my grammar in the years since. Lissette ensured I had a solid foundation of grammar and has been improving my grasp of idioms and vocabulary ever since. After a few months, Ive surpassed even the level of fluency I had when I was studying Spanish in school, and now feel very confident speaking and using Spanish in my daily life. I had been studying Spanish on my own with Pimsleur tapes for a while, and was eager to progress to another level -- and Lisette has been an amazing teacher. She combines detailed grammatical instruction with conversational practice and is fun and easy to talk to (and able to schedule around my erratic work calendar). I highly recommend her lessons!

I absolutely love my lessons with Lissette. Lissettes lessons are the best Spanish classes Ive ever taken and I have improved so much since starting them. Lissette has an absolutely incredible knowledge of the details of Spanish -- the difference between different types of Spanish spoken, and different forms of slang, as well as even origins of words and phrases. Her interest in and knowledge of Spanish is so inspiring, and has made me excited about Spanish in a way I didnt expect. She is an excellent teacher, and always takes the time to explain my mistakes until I fully understand them. She even helped me develop a system to remember patterns of mistakes in my speech so that I can improve much faster. Lissette is also very willing to follow my interests in Spanish. My lessons feel truly specialized and catered to me and my needs. Finally, Lissette is just a wonderful and incredibly easy person to talk to. Lessons were genuinely fun and I feel like I learned a lot from Lissette as a person as well as from her Spanish. I cannot recommend Lissette enough! Take lessons with her!

Lissette is a great teacher. She really helps with explaining the detail of how the Spanish language uses sentence construction which was hard for me to understand. I have spent the better part of my life learning Spanish in and out of school and came to her looking for help with my sentence structure, polishing my grammar, as well as help improving my conversational skills.We have been working together for a few of months now and I can already feel my confidence growing and I am finding it easier to both read and speak. She identified my strengths as well as areas that I need improvement, is always encouraging and offers a very flexible schedule that has helped me fit these important lessons into my hectic life. Lissette is the most amazing Spanish teacher! I think Ive pretty much told everyone that I know about her. She is super flexible working with me because I have two jobs. I was really worried because honestly, I was an average student in school back in the day and I never felt as though I had the capacity to learn a new language as an adult. I came in only knowing a basic greeting or two. Lissette has completely changed that for me! Im actually learning sentence structure. She also has given me the tools to really begin to have real conversations with people in Spanish which is most important for me! She is kind and so patient with me to make sure Im truly comprehending what she is teaching me. Shes also very affordable. I couldnt have asked for a better teacher! Highly HIGHLY recommend her!

Lissette is an excellent teacher. I had a lot of anxiety prior to my first class and she helped to set my mind at ease, which helped to accelerate my learning. She has a great approach to teaching Spanish and I feel that my conversational skills have improved. The exercises we do are tied to improving conversation skills and building foundational confidence in the language. I am pleased with my development and can’t imagine working with anyone else. We have done classes in person and via Skype and I appreciate the flexibility of the classes. She is also a great person! I highly recommend her classes.

Lissette is the best! She is a patient and kind teacher and seems to know exactly what each student needs. She helped me get prepped and ready to enter a language immersion course in Guatemala. I went into the program with a great Spanish base thanks to her. Her rates are reasonable and she’s flexible with scheduling too. If you can’t meet in person you can do Skype lessons. Highly recommend working with her!

My father is originally from Cuba, but he and my mom chose to not speak Spanish in the house growing up. I really wanted to learn the language so I can speak it with my family, travel, and sing songs in Spanish. Lissette has been an incredible tutor! She is very patient and so knowledgable. Lissette has been tutoring me for 2-3 months now. I wanted to practice my conversational Spanish and listening skill. She has been a great help improving my Spanish and I have noticed a big difference when I travel to south America that I am able to understand more and not get overwhelmed. Highly recommend it.

She has been teaching me Spanish for about half year. I never had Spanish tutor until her, but my language skill has improved a lot. She will help you with your assignments, or if you dont have assignments to do, she will help with your communication skill. She will try her best to let me learn language skill that you can actually use in Spanish speaking country. She is extremely helpful!

Having had very little knowledge of Spanish (I took French in school) and deciding to learn it later in life, I was slightly apprehensive about taking lessons. But I have to say that I lucked out in finding Lissette. She has all the hallmarks of a great teacher: knowledgeable, positive, inspiring and most important for me, patient! After only a few months I feel I am making more progress than I expected to and am having fun in the process. She is also very accommodating in scheduling which I really appreciate. Lissette is a wonderful teacher! I am seeing her to re-learn my high school Spanish and to get better at speaking. She put me completely at ease so that I could quickly get comfortable with speaking Spanish. I highly recommend her-- in just 1 and 1/2 months, Ive gone from being barely able to speak at all, to being able to carry on a short conversation that includes multiple tenses and even jokes.
