Stevenson is a great place for students. The teachers are experienced and care about the community. There are a lot of community partnerships that give students additional opportunities that other middle schools dont have. Their after school sports teams have won many championships and they have two magnet schools on campus. Lots of opportunities here that they dont offer at charter schools. Keep up the great work, pirates! Im glad to know the Stevenson community.

Stevenson MS is one of the higher performing middle schools in the Boyle Heights/East Los Angeles area. For over ninety years, the faculty has had and continue to have a rich tradition of working hard to provide a safe, learning environment for all that attend in the community. They offer many programs such as: magnets, english language, special education, and AVID programs to meet the individual needs of each student.

Stevenson Middle School offers students and the community valuable resources, highly qualified teachers, data driven instruction and a relentless pursuit to help prepare students for a successful college education. During an era in which parents and students have schooling options, Stevenson Middle School has made incredible strides to situate itself at the top of the list. Although its been tough with budget changes and new Charter schools affecting enrollment, Stevenson MS has made a lot of positive improvements. Their sports program is amazing (City Champs!), they offer a ton of academic support such as after school tutoring, Saturday school, and even college credit courses from ELAC! Get to know the staff and visit- you wont be disappointed!

I would like to have to say a lot of good facts from this school, but I cant. The climate in this school is very bad.Fights, bullying every single day. Most of the students behavior is bad. There is not enough supervision in general. The level of bullying is incredible.Yes! There are good teachers, not all of them but in terms of climate the situation is chaotic. I am having a very bad experience. I hope the principal and the DEAN can figure something out with help from the district. I believe that every person who works in this school should be more strict with students. Teachers cant make the difference unless they want to. Education begins from home!! We have to remember that parents!

Stevenson middle school has been showing growth in state test scores the last 3 years, in both english and math. For students struggling in english or math we offer intervention as an elective class. Since we believe in blended learning, students use computer programs such as achieve 3000 (english) and moby max (math) to reach grade level and meet common core state standards. Most of our students have access to technology in the library, computer labs, and laptop carts. Last year, Stevenson choir recorded a music video with the black eyed peas. Our athletic department has won city championships in football (tackle and flag), soccer (boys and girls), and futsal (boys and girls).

Excellent teachers who really care and dedicate time to the development of their students.
