This is one of the worst school I have ever been in. My sister graduated from here. I would never recommend this school to anyone wanted a catholic education. This school is based on favoritism at its best they are not well organized and have bad leadership skills I was always told have a private school education would be the best and that they have a higher chances of going into great universitys. But this school lacks funding and leadership skills and to top it off they charge so much just to have your children their. When you go to the school you dont really see the money being used or anything great coming from it the classrooms need to be updated and fixed. The school is lacking educational updates and sports and now they will possibly be losing their music program as well. My mom was a volunteer three years in the school she helped as much as she could she would give idea to new things to make the school better and have a better experience but was never taken serious and acknowledged for the volunteer service she would do. We did receive financial assistance from the archdiocese each year to help bring down the cost of tuition. We also did receive a lot of help from Mrs. Chavez she is a wonderful person. please note this review was edited today due to a angry phone call I did receive from the school principal. So please note you are not able to speak your mind in a review about how you really fell about something because you will be contacted.

As a responsible mother of two young girls, (Luna & Soledad) and I have been scouting catholic schools in the Los Angeles area. My husband may be transferring there in the next year and Id like to be prepared. I grew up going to catholic schools and loved it. I saw 1st hand how wonderful the experience can be and the hard working people that make it happen. They are unfortunately over worked & under paid. I know there is always a lack of funding and theres things that need fixing or updating. That is just a fact of the Catholic school life. Im pleased to say, after reading the reviews its refreshing one of the teachers took time from her busy day to comment/correct one of the reviewers. This is what America is lacking. We need more caring individuals that arent afraid to stand up & voice their opinions. I want my babies to learn how to be like that & to be heard.

At the beginning thought it was a good idea to have our children to this school, the reason been because the poor education on this area provided by the district. One of our children just graduated from Assumption and it was one worse graduations I have ever seen in my life, humiliated, poor, unorganized and with a lots of preference to those parents that basically just bought their children education with donations or kissing the principals behind. The principal has been in this school for over 20 years and she does no have any vision towards the children or the school, all she is after is the money from those parents who dont kiss her behind of puts a red carpet in front of her to walk on it. All she is there for is to fill her pockets with our money and the churchs money, Miss Gomez like everyone knows her does not have any vision whatsoever, no goals, no intentions to really assist the children at all. Assumption School is so behind on technology from other school in the area for the same reason Miss Gomez is all about the money. Another person who has a lot to do in Assumption is Miss Chavez the person in charge of the so call Secretary, B-principal or what ever title she has? A lot of times we offer to assist with the hours that every parent is require to assist thru all the year and she always had the same people help her an those of us who try to help and she always told us NO end up paying lots of money to the school because she never let us assist the school. Both of theseBoth of these two ladies have a lot to do with the poor administration on this school. They have a clan of parents who cover everything they do in the school so like that not everyone really see what they are all about. Assumption needs to have an extensive review of their administration. They are a lot of things that are not coming to the light and just been hidden to everyone who dont follow these two ladies. A change needs to happen for he benefit of all those who are investing their money on their children. Dont make the same mistake we did and raise your voice.

I would highly recommend Assumption School. I am very happy with the Teachers commitment to the childrens academic, social and cultural development, from Transitional K to the 8th Grade. I have seen how my own children (one in T-K and one in K), nieces and nephews are committed to helping others, especially those younger than them. This is thanks to the fact that all children at Assumption School are taught to help and respect each other. Also, older students read, teach games, and help younger children cross the street to go to church. I am a proud mother of children who love reading, something that I thank the Teachers at Assumption School for having instilled in them.
